ABSTRACT

Based on the in-depth analysis of the defects of the existing traditional chair-side teaching and simulation examination for the oral residency training students, this paper designs an online typical case teaching module for teaching practice. After the teaching, the examination results reveal that the use of online teaching tool can improve the clinical thinking and decision-making ability, and strengthen the clinical thinking process. The questionnaire results show that most residents are satisfied with the online teaching. All in all, the online teaching mode in this study is conducive to increasing the breadth and depth of case teaching, facilitating the process and visualization of clinical thinking, and improving the clinical decision-making ability of the typical cases of the residency training students, so as to achieve the goal of training residents with great post competences.

Objective To explore the effect of application of task-based learning with experiential teaching on nursing clinical decision making ability. Methods A total of 96 nursing students were divided into experimental group and observation group with each of 48 nursing students. The experimental group used the application of task-based learning with experimental teaching, the control group used the traditional scenario simulation. At the end of the course, the final scores, skill operation scores and nursing students'evaluation of the course and clinical decision-making ability of nursing were observed in the two groups. Results The final scores, chapters related to task-based learning with experiential teaching, skill operation scores was (82.06±0.98), (12.01±0.88), (94.99±0.34) points in the experimental group, and (78.34±0.98), (9.32±0.76), (91.87±0.98) points in the control group, and the difference was significant(t=12.958, 9.872, 10.834, all P<0.01). The evaluation of teaching methods, teaching process and teaching effect was (20.06±0.98), (23.01±0.88), (35.99±0.34) points in the experimental group, and (17.34±0.98), (20.32±0.76), (30.87±0.98) points in the control group, and the difference was significant (t=5.96, 6.87, 6.99, all P<0.01).The score of clinical decision-making ability of nursing was (137.50 ± 12.61) points in the experimental group, and (123.88±9.89) points in the control group, and the difference was significant (t=5.891, P<0.01). Conclusions The effect of task-based learning with experiential teaching in teaching of nursing in vocational nursing students, enable students to transfer knowledge and experience in experience, it can improve the students' clinical decision making ability.

ABSTRACT

Informed consent is the procedure that respects the autonomy of patients ; doctors protect patients' choices and rights through informed consent. Competence and voluntariness are prerequisite for the informed consent. In recent years, the necessity of informed consent from the Psychiatric department has been raised. Regarding informed consent from the Psychiatric department, there is a need to consider from two perspectives : respect for the patient's decision-making ability and the psychiatrist's legal self-protection. In competence and voluntariness, psychiatric patients were excluded due to lack of decision-making ability and willingness. However, not all psychiatric patients were able to perform the given task. Therefore, informed consent is needed in the point of view regarding the decision-making ability of psychiatric patients. Psychotropic medications, particularly antipsychotics, can cause several side effects, including extrapyramidal syndrome and metabolic syndrome. Therefore, preannouncement of these patients for these side effects is needed. However, when the informed consent is only applied to psychiatric hospitals, it may increase prejudices and misconceptions about psychiatric medications and treatment. Therefore, the informed consent should first be considered carefully and thoughtfully.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the present state of clinical decision-making ability of nursing students in Sichuan Province. Methods The instrument for measuring the clinical decision-making ability of nursing students was adopted te investigate baccalaureate nursing students from four colleges and uni-versifies in Sichuan Province who had completed 10-12-month clinical practice. Results The overall mean score of clinical decision-making ability of baccalaureate nursing students in Sichuan Province was (72.86± 4.53). Among the dimensions, the scoring rate of Goal-setting Ability Dimension was the highest and that of evaluation-feedback ability dimension the lowest. In terms of the qualification rate of clinical decision-making ability, 99.52% of the students were qualified (4.82% good and 94.7% passed) and 0.48% was unqualified. ABSTRACT

This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of meditation on problem solving and self-perception in psychiatric outpatients. Meditation group which had taken the medication and participated in 20 meditation session, and comparison group which had only taken the medication were given Social Problem Solving Inventory(SFSI) and Self-Perception Inventory(SPSI) at pretest and posttest period. The results were as follows: when compared pretest score and posttest score, scores of problem solving cognition subscale and problem solving emotion subscale were increased at a statistically significant level in meditation group. However, scores of comparison group were not changed. In comparison group, scores of problem solving behavior subscale and decision making subscale were decreased at a statistically significant level, and attitudes of self-perception were changed negatively whereas scores of meditation group were not. The results of present study suggested that meditation might have positive effects on perspectives of approaching the problem, and have buffering effects on decreasing of problem solving behavior, decreasing of decision making and negative change of self- perception.
