ABSTRACT

Introducción: la calidad académica constituye una prioridad en el contexto universitario global contemporáneo. De forma gradual, se aprecia la necesidad de que las universidades evidencien su responsabilidad social por medio de instrumentos que validen su quehacer, donde se exige a dichas instituciones certificar los niveles de calidad en el desarrollo de sus procesos sustantivos como forma de rendir cuentas a la sociedad. Objetivo: diseñar un procedimiento para la medición del impacto de los programas de maestría en la Universidad de Ciencias Médica de Matanzas. Materiales y métodos: se realizó una investigación de desarrollo tecnológico, que clasifica como un estudio analítico, longitudinal prospectivo, en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Matanzas, entre septiembre de 2019 y mayo de 2021. Se emplearon métodos teóricos, empíricos y estadísticos. El procedimiento metodológico empleado fue la triangulación. Resultados: se diseñó un procedimiento para medir, de modo integral, el impacto de la formación de los programas de maestrías de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Matanzas, lo que permitió obtener una vía para la medición de los impactos esperados, conducentes al crecimiento intelectual y profesional de los egresados, que responde al encargo social de la universidad, sus diferentes escenarios laborales y las demandas del sector de la salud en el territorio matancero. Conclusiones: el procedimiento diseñado evidenció la necesidad y pertinencia del mismo, en virtud de la mejora continua del programa y su calidad.


Introduction: academic quality is a priority in the contemporary global university context. Gradually, it is appreciated the need for the universities to show their social responsibility by the way of instruments that validate their work, where these institutions are required to certify the quality levels in the development of their substantive processes as a way of rendering accounts to the society. Objective: to design a procedure for measuring the impact of the master's degree programs at Matanzas University of Medical Sciences. Materials and methods: a research of technological development, classified as an analytical, longitudinal prospective study, was conducted at Matanzas University of Medical Sciences, between September 2019 and May 2021. Theoretical, empirical and statistical methods were used. The methodological procedure used was triangulation. Results: a procedure was designed to measure, in a comprehensive way, the impact of the training of master's degree programs at Matanzas University of Medical Sciences. It allowed obtaining a way to measure the expected impacts, leading to the intellectual and professional growth of graduates, which responds to the social responsibility of the university, their different work scenarios and to the demands of the health sector in the territory of Matanzas. Conclusions: the designed procedure evidenced its need and relevance, for the sake of the continuous improvement of the program and its quality.

Introducción: la Tecnología de la Información y las Comunicaciones (TIC) tiene intrínseca una influencia en la educación que exige a los docentes una superación sistemática y continua en esta rama. Objetivo: reflexionar en la formación del docente, de forma continua, de América Latina y el Caribe para enfrentar el uso de las TIC en sus procesos sustantivos y describir brevemente la experiencia cubana en la Maestría en Nuevas Tecnologías para la Educación en su primera versión. Métodos: la observación y el análisis de documentos, con predominio de este último, el cual permitió hacer una exhaustiva revisión e interpretación del tema objeto de estudio. Resultados: se evidencia la necesidad que presentan los docentes de nuestras área en una superación consciente, sistemática y continua, además de las evidencia de ejemplos de los países de América Latina y el Caribe en fomentar la formación académica de sus docentes. Asimismo, se describe brevemente la experiencia cubana en la Maestría en Nuevas Tecnologías para la Educación en su primera versión. Conclusiones: se brinda una reflexión sobre la formación del docente, en nuestra área, para incorporar las TIC en su labor pedagógica según las exigencias del auge tecnológico.


Introduction: the information and communication technologies have an intrinsic influence on the education and this demands from the professors a systematic and continuous upgrading in this field. Objective: to make reflections on the continuous formation of professors in Latin America and the Caribbean so as to succeed in using the ICT in their teaching processes and to briefly describe the Cuban experience in the first version of the master's degree studies in new technologies for education. Methods: documentary observation and analysis, mainly the latter, which allowed making an exhaustive review and interpretation of the study topic. Results: it was evident that the educators of our area require continuous and systematic upgrading in addition to examples of Latin American and Caribbean countries that encourage the formation of their teaching staff. Brief description of the Cuban experiences in the first version of the master's degree studies in new technologies for education. Conclusions: this paper provided some reflections on the formation of professor in our area, with a view to incorporating the information and communication technologies in their teaching work in line with the demands of the present technological development.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to develop the standardized manual for dietetic internship. The general information of the dietetic internship program in Korea was gathered and of dietetic internship(DI) in the USA was also surveyed. The existence of DI program manual, the number of intern and length of the dietetic internship program, and other general information were investigated. At first, the questionnaire was developed and mailed to 130 hospitals in Korea and the number of returned questionnaires was 42 showing participating rate of 28%. Second, telephone survey was carried out and the number of response was 40 out of 46 participating rate of 87%. The results of this study could be summarized as follow. 1. General informations of dietetic internship program in Korea; The hospital having a dietetic internship program was 31.7% and of them 14.6%(12 hospitals) have a manual developed by themselves. The number of dietetic intern per hospital was 2.0+/-1.4. The length of the program was from 3 to 12 months. Ten hospitals (38.5%) have a only food service program and 16 hospitals (62.5%) have both food service and clinical program. Seventy one percent (58 hospitals) of total hospital were willing to use the well developed standardized dietetic internship manual. 2. General information of Dietetic Internship Program in the USA; Two hundred fifty nine hospital had the dietetic internship program approved by ADA. The number of dietetic intern in each hospital was 10.6+/-6.3. The mean length of the program was 13.6+/-6.3 months. Twenty seven percent of institution have coordinated internship/masters degree program. The range of tuition for DI program was from $300 to 30,855(otherwise, interns were payed by the hospital in Korea). As a conclusion, the standardized dietetic internship program for the clinical dietitian as nutrition professionals to carry out their job at the hospitals should be developed. And the coordinated internship/masters degree program could be considered to improve the skill levels and job performances of clinical dietitian.

ABSTRACT

La Escuela de Enfermería del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social en Guadalajara, Jalisco, en respuesta a la política nacional e institucional respecto a modernizar la educación para formar recursos humanos altamente calificados que demuestren conocimientos, habilidades y actitudes indispensables en el ejercicio profesional de la enfermería, ­capaces de influir en las condiciones de salud de la población­ realizó modificaciones al currículo con el fin de implementar un modelo de educación basado en competencias para la instrucción de licenciados en enfermería. La socialización del modelo con la Coordinación de Educación Médica y El Centro Regional de formación de Profesores y Directivos de la Delegación Regional de Occidente; así como con las cinco escuelas de enfermería del IMSS en el país, hizo posible la retroalimentación y su enriquecimiento. En este artículo se presentan elementos y características del modelo de educación basado en competencias implementado en esta escuela a partir de 1999. Cabe hacer mención que el modelo se apega al plan de estudios de la Universidad de Guadalajara, por ser la institución que avala los estudios; por consiguiente fue necesario el incremento y reubicación de unidades de aprendizaje, amén de la búsqueda de estrategias educativas y de evaluación acordes a los requerimientos del modelo para alcanzar el perfil de egreso del licenciado en enfermería y la misión propuesta en este modelo.


The IMSS Nursing school in Guadalajara, Jalisco has modified the curriculum in order to implement an education model based on competence in the preparation of nurses as an answer to the national and institutional politic of modernizing the education for the preparation of "highly qualitied human resources "that show know ledge, abilities and atitudes required for the nursing professional practice and capable of having influence in the health conditions of the people. The socialización of the model with the Medical Education and the teacher and Directive formation Regional Center of the West Regional Delegation, as well as the five IMSS nursing schools in the country made feedback and enrichment possible. The elements, characteristics and results of the education model based on contests implemented in this school since 1999 are presented in this article. The model is elaborated according to the University of Guadalajara plan of studies should be mencioned. Since it's the institution that endorses the school, was necessary to increase and relocated the learning units as well as the seach for education and evaluation strategies in agreement with the model requirements in order to reach the nursing degree program and the mission proposed.
