ABSTRACT

Objective To understand students' attitude changes before and after they started their internships in the department of psychiatry and evaluate their teachers' teaching methods. Methods Using a self-made questionnaire of Psychiatric Internship Attitude that has passed the reliability and validity test, from 2015 to 2016, a total of 208 undergraduate students in the clinical medicine mental health direction of Chongqing Medical University were selected through cluster random sampling to investigate their attitude changes towards psychiatry before and after they started their internships. At the end of their internships, another self-made Psychiatric Teach Evaluation Forming Questionnaire of the reliability and validity test was used to preliminarily evaluate the students' assessment of the teaching situation of their teachers during the internship. Results Before the internships, through the survey we found that 44.2% of the students felt nervous, 37.0% fearful, 57.2% compassionate, and the percentage of students who were willing to work in the department of psychiatry is only 41.4%. Through investigation, teachers carried out the teaching work with targeted goals, at the end of the internship the tension and fear decreased to 0.0%, the proportion of empathy rose to 78.4%, and the differences are statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The students' attitude survey at the beginning of their internship can help teachers improve their teaching attitudes, con-cepts and methods, and make students' negative attitudes towards mental patients and psychiatry significantly reduce.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the drug utilization of hospitalized children in psychiatric hospital and analyze its the rationality.Methods A retrospective study was conducted to survey the utilization of psychotropic drugs in hospitalized children between January 2016 and June 2016,and according to drug instruction,its the rational-ity was analyzed.Results The top three used psychotropic drugs were aripiprazole,sertraline and sodium valproic sustained -release tablets.The types of drugs without safety data were at most and most frequently used.Diagnosis was not consistent with indications for totally 12 kinds of drugs,aripiprazole involved the most cases.A total of 5 drugs existed usage not matching drug instruction,and sodium valproic sustained -release tablets accounted for the most. Conclusion Irrational use of drugs in psychiatric hospital is still common at present.Clinical pharmacists can improve rationality of drug utilization of hospitalized children in psychiatric hospital by creating a drug database and carrying out pharmaceutical care.

ABSTRACT

The aim of the current study is to investigate plans for improvement of psychiatric departments in university hospitals of Korea. We examined the operation situation in the department of psychiatry in university hospitals of foreign countries. In addition, consultation conferences with experts were conducted. To improve the situation of the department of psychiatry in university hospitals, policy development, expansion of psychiatric fields, strengthening of education and research, and support from government may be necessary.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To discuss the risk factors causing nosocomial infection in department of psychiatry,Hospital for Mental Health and Rehabilitation so that to provide basis for prevention and control of nosocomial infections.METHODS Both the prospective and retrospective investigations were carried out among 3 525 inpatients form Jan 1,2006 to Dec 31,2006.RESULTS Eighty-five cases of nosocomial infection were with infection rate of 2.41%.The upper respiratory tract infection,gastrointestinal infection and lower respiratory tract infection were the top 3 infections.CONCLUSIONS The occurrence of nosocomial infection is related to the susceptibility,hospital stay time,unreasonable drug application,managing model of mental health hospital and antipsychotics usage.

OBJECTIVE To understand the antibacterial medicine usage in inpatients in department of psychiatry to promote the rational use of antibacterial drugs.
