ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

Psychology classifies and quantifies the emotional and cognitive losses in children as the effect of parental separation, but it does not investigate the role of the family in the constitution of the subject and the nature of psychological suffering in children. Psychoanalysis defines the subject by the non equivalence between genders. So it considers the link between a man and a woman as a symptomatic one. The family’s structure consists of the Name-of-the-Father, Mother's desire and the object a (the child, a symptom of its parents). To enter the social bond the child must symbolize through the Oedipus myth, the secret of the enjoyment of the parental couple. The couple’s divorce destabilizes the child’s substitute function to the non sexual relation. Psychoanalytic clinic shows the impasses to symbolize the place of parental symptom when it is lost. A libidinal impoverishment is produced in the unconscious relation and ability to. Fragments of clinical excerpts display the effects of this disturbance in libido’s economy.
