ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the status quo of the pharmaceutical care of drug consultation calls so as to facilitate the development of pharmaceutical care and promote rational drug use.METHODS:All the recordings on the pharmaceutical consultation calls from Jan.2001 to Sep.2008 were collected to analyze the compositions of consultants,problems consulted and the categories of the drugs consulted,etc.RESULTS:75.6% of the consultants were hospital employees;41.7% of the problems consulted were related to drug interactions and dosage and administration,and 22.8% of the drugs consulted were antibiotics.CONCLUSION:The drug consultation call model is convenient and feasible,and is proved to be a realistic professional pharmaceutical care.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the demands of medical staff for relevant medication knowledge in order to provide more targeted pharmaceutical service.METHODS:The consultation records in 2006 were collected and reviewed for an analysis in respect of classification of drugs and contents of consultation.RESULTS:Antimicrobials were most frequently consulted(27.87%).The chief contents in the drug consultation included common name and price of drugs,therapeutic regimen,dosage and administration,adverse reactions etc.CONCLUSION:Retrospective analysis of drug consultation revealed that medical staff should have the knowledge about therapeutic regimen and individuation treatment.Clinical pharmacists are expected to improve their rational drug use level by carrying out the corresponding work.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To facilitate a rational use of drugs in children to comply with the development of the clinical pharmacy. METHODS: The drug consultation in children's drug use was carried out by means of face to face talk or telephone inquiry between the guardians of children and the pharmacists, and the analysis was performed with exemplification. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: The practice of drug consultation has improved the guardians' consciousness of rational drug use, corrected some errors in drug use, improved pharmacists' professional level, and facilitated the development of the pharmacy in hospital.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze the clinical drug consultation to summarize the characteristics of drug consulting services and improve clinical pharmacy service quality.Method:756 complete cases of clinical drug consulting materials were analyzed and summarized in our hospital emergency in the past three years.Result:The major consulters were patients, accounting for 59.92 percent.The most often consulted anti-infective drugs accounted for 35.85 percent.The primary attention was given to usage and dosage of drugs,accounting for 12.96 percent.Conclusion:The drug consultation lets us fully understand the issues most concerned about by medical personnel and patients,makes pharmacists improve their professional level and makes sure that patients are given reasonable,safe and effective medication.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To explore an effective approach for clinical pharmacists to provide pharmaceutical care to outpatients.METHODS: Based on our personal experience and the mode of pharmaceutical consultation service in our hospital as well as the case study,the setting up and operational model of drug consultation service for outpatients were introduced.RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: If requirements on personnel and hardware & software satisfied,setting drug consultation service for outpatients that operated in 5 steps including probing into patient's basic condition and analyzing patient's medication condition etc can greatly enhance patients' medication compliance.
