ABSTRACT
La atención a la familia, desde cualquier perspectiva, constituye una necesidad si se desea progresar en las estrategias promocionales, preventivas y recuperativas en todos los niveles de salud y en particular en la atención primaria, donde se puede efectuar un vínculo más estrecho con la comunidad. Las parejas jóvenes, en particular las que se encuentran en la etapa de formación del ciclo vital familiar, constituyen sistemas propicios para facilitarles la ayuda, al hacerlas conscientes de los recursos psicológicos y sociales que pueden propiciar su efectivo funcionamiento, ya que en esta fase se inicia el conocimiento mutuo, el establecimiento de normas, jerarquías, reglas, tradiciones. Este trabajo responde a la primera fase de un proyecto de investigación para favorecer el funcionamiento en parejas con estas características. Objetivo: diagnosticar la funcionalidad en la población muestreable en la etapa de formación del ciclo vital familiar, a partir de la caracterización de aspectos biológicos, psicológicos y sociales de las parejas jóvenes del distrito Cándido González Morales. Métodos: se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal; se aplicaron encuestas para caracterizar a las 366 parejas del distrito que constituyen la población y para explorar necesidades sentidas de aprendizaje, así como una prueba para explorar la percepción del funcionamiento familiar. Para el procesamiento de la información se utilizaron técnicas y procedimientos de estadística descriptiva, medidas de resumen para variables cualitativas (porcentaje). Resultados: se caracterizó al distrito y a las 366 parejas jóvenes del área; de éstas, 265 consintieron la ayuda por parte de especialistas y más del 50 por ciento se ubican en el rango de disfuncionalidad, las que constituyeron la muestra para la exploración e intervención de la segunda fase de la investigación. Conclusiones: la mayoría de las parejas son disfuncionales y sienten la necesidad de aprender a funcionar mejor.
The attention to the family, from any perspective, constitutes a need, if it is wishes to progress in the promotional, preventive and recoverable strategies, at all health levels and in particular in the primary attention where may be strengthen the links with the community. Young couples particularly, the ones are in the stage of family life cycle formation, constitute propitious systems to facilitate them help, make them aware of the psychological and social resources that may favor its effective functioning, as in this phase, mutual knowledge, establishment of standards, hierarchies, rules, traditions are initiated. This research corresponds to the first stage of a research project to favor the functioning in couples with these characteristics. Objective: to diagnose the functionality in the sampled population at the stage of family life cycle formation, as from the characterization of biological, psychological and social aspects of young couples at the district Cándido González Morales. Methods: a descriptive and cross-sectional study was accomplished; surveys to characterize 366 couples of the district which constitute the population and to explore learning needs, as well as a test to explore the perception of family functioning was applied. For information processing were used techniques and procedures of descriptive statistics, summary measures for qualitative variables (percentage). Results: of the 366 young couple characterized, 265 agreed the help of specialists and more than the 50 percent are placed in the dysfunctional range, which constituted the sample for the investigation and intervention of the second phase of the mentioned project. Conclusions: the majority of couples are dysfunctional and feel the need to learn to work better.
