ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE:To study on the phlorotannins in Ecklonia kurome. METHODS:Silica gel column chromatography and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography were conducted for isolation and identification of phlorotannins,and the compound structures were analyzed and identified based on physicochemical properties and spectral data. RESULTS:Totally 7 phlorotannins were isolated from E. kurome,namely Phloroglucinol(1),Eckol(2),Fucodiphloroethol G(3),Phlorofucofuroeckol A(4),1-(3′, 5′-dihydro-xyphenoxy)-7-(2″,4″,6-trihydro-xyphenoxy)-2,4,9-trihydroxydibenzo-1,4-dioxin(5),Dieckol(6)and 6,6′-bieckol (7). CONCLUSIONS:Compound 5 and 7 are isolated from E. kurome for the first time,and the study has laid a foundation for its quality evaluation.
ABSTRACT
Objective To develop a stable and simple method to measure the polysaccharide in Ecklonia kurome Okam.Methods After the conversion coefficient of polysaccharide from Ecklonia kurome Okam to glucose was obtained,the content of polysaccharide was measured by phenol-sulfuric acid method.Results The correlation coefficient of standard curve was(0.9998),the recovery rate was 97.35% and RSD was 4.68%.Conclusion The method was convenient for content determination of polysaccharide from Ecklonia kurome Okam as well as its related products.

Objective To study the effects of polysaccharide from Ecklonia kurome on pulmonary interstitial fibrosis induced by bleomycin in rats.Methods The pulmonary interstitial fibrosis model was established by endotracheal injection of bleomycin in rats.25,50,100mg?mL-1 doses of the polysaccharide from Ecklonia kurome were ig administered to the rats respectively,and the contants of hydroxyproline in rat lung were determined by kits at 0,3,7,14,28 d after the model was made.Results At 7,28d after the model was made,the treatment groups of middle and high doses compared with the model group showed signi-ficantly decrease of hydroxyproline level(P
