ABSTRACT

Under the situation of regular epidemic prevention and control of COVID-19, the hospitals need to establish an emergency personnel pool and update it regularly. The author introduced the experience of establishing and managing the emergency personnel pool in a hospital, including the use of information technology to achieve scientific grouping and dynamic management, strengthening the emergency response ability, epidemic prevention and control training and assessment of all staff, ensuring their mental health and logistics support, and improving the performance assessment, salary and welfare system of emergency personnel.From December 2021 to May 2022, the members of the emergency personnel pool completed a total of 62 emergency support tasks. The response time and team gathering time of all emergency tasks were reduced to less than 1 hour. A total of 4 421 medical personnel were sent. The nucleic acid test results of COVID-19 during the tasks were negative, the infection rate was zero, and no adverse events occurred.

ABSTRACT

This article introduced the practice of emergency personnel cultivation according to order form based on the cooperation between Cang Zhou Medical College and the Beijing Red Cross emergency rescue center. The implementation process: First, we tried and built cooperative relation with the enterprises and public institutions which had strong cooperative intention, high demand and advanced techniques by field investigation. Second, we signed order training agreement, made clear the rights and obligations of both sides. Then, we selected the best students and formed the ordered class. Both sides organized the professional construction committee together. After much argument we thrashed practical talent training projects and professional development plans and implemented them strictly. We also built up a high quality team which involved full-time teachers as well as part-time teachers with balanced age and education. Besides, we adopted two plus one training pattern and em-ployed the best (the rate of employment beyond 80%). Thus, the win-win situation of students, schools and hospitals was realized.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Paramedic and emergency personnel may encounter directly many events that threat their own wellbeing during their daily work. This study was conducted to examine the prevalence rate of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among two groups of paramedic and emergency personnel in south-east Iran.METHODS: The study employed a descriptive design and was conducted in four hospital emergency wards and a pre-hospital emergency base supervised by Kerman Medical University. Using Mississippi PTSD, we assessed the prevalence rate in paramedics (n=150) and emergency personnel (n=250).RESULTS: The two groups had different levels of education, marital status, experience of traumatic events, work hours per month, and gender. Most (94%) of paramedic and hospital emergency personnel reported moderate PTSD. The two groups had significant different levels of PTSD in all subscale.CONCLUSION: The study suggests that health care managers should organize systematic and dynamic policies and procedures in dealing with PTSD to assist both groups of personnel.
