ABSTRACT

All species of Macrostomus Wiedemann allied with Macrostomus pictipennis (Bezzi), are treated in the pictipennis species-group. Three currently recognized species and four new species are included, namely M. cervicicauda Smith, M. cysticercus Smith, M. manauara, sp. nov. from Brazil (Amazonas and Pará states), M. pacaraima, sp. nov. from Brazil (Roraima, Amazonas and Pará states), M. pictipennis (Bezzi), M. smithi, sp. nov. from Guyana and Brazil (Roraima State) and M. utinga, sp. nov. from Brazil (Pará State). All primary types were examined and a key to species is presented.


As espécies de Macrostomus Wiedemann afins de Macrostomus pictipennis (Bezzi) estão sendo tratadas no grupo M. pictipennis, o qual inclui três espécies já descritas e quarto espécies novas, a saber: M. cervicicauda Smith, M. cysticercus Smith, M. manauara, sp. nov. do Brasil (Amazonas e Pará), M. pictipennis (Bezzi), M. smithi, sp. nov. da Guiana e Brasil (Roraima), M. utinga, sp. nov. do Brasil (Pará) e M. pacaraima, sp. nov. do Brasil (Roraima, Amazonas e Pará). Todos os tipos primários foram examinados e uma chave para espécie é apresentada.

ABSTRACT

Two new species of genus Cerathybos Bezzi (Diptera, Empididae, Hybotinae) are described and illustrated: Cerathybos bezzii, from Equador, Colombia and Bolivia, and Cerathybos nigripes, from Peru, including the first known males of this genus; new records of C. schnusei are made and aspects of male terminalia are discussed.


Duas espécies novas de Cerathybos Bezzi (Diptera, Empididae, Hybotinae) são descritas: Cerathybos bezzii, do Equador, Colômbia e Bolívia, e Cerathybos nigripes, do Peru, incluindo os primeiros machos conhecidos deste gênero; um novo registro de C. schnusei é feito para a Colômbia e aspectos da terminália masculina são discutidos.

ABSTRACT

The species-group Euhybus dimidiatus are revised, five new amazonian species are described, E. amazonicus (Santiago, Sierra de Cutucu, Ecuador), E. dubius (Parque Nacional do Jaú, Amazonas, Brasil), . ikedai (Novo Aripuanã, Amazonas, Brasil), E. setulosus (Mocoa, Puntamayo, Colômbia) and E. symmetricus (Parque Nacional do Jaú, Amazonas. Brasil), new records and new synonymy are maden, and a key to the species-group of Euhybus is presented.

ABSTRACT

The Neotropical empidid genus Opeatocerata Melander, hitherto known from only a sigle female from Mexico, is redefined in the light of new material, including males. Three new species are described and illustrated, a key provided and the presence of the genus now additionally established in Costa Rica, Panama, Bolivia, Ecuador, Trinidad and Brazil.
