ABSTRACT

Abstract@#Children and adolescents are at an important stage in the development of eating habits and food skills. Nutrition literacy is inseparable from healthy eating behaviors and higher nutritional quality, and improving nutrition literacy is an important pathway to better nutrition. The paper summarizes domestic and international research on nutrition literacy from the perspectives of definition and assessment tools in children and adolescents. It is found that there is no universal definition of nutritional literacy. Adult nutrition literacy or with appropriate adjustments are widely used in children and adolescents, without taking into account the unique developmental characteristics and nutritional needs of children and adolescents; the measurement tools of nutritional literacy are diverse, and there is no unified assessment tools, so it is difficult to compare and analyze research findings and draw reliable conclusions. In the future, authoritative definitions, and standardized evaluation tools are in great need.

ABSTRACT

@#Introduction: The internship course is a very important part of each university course. The present study aimed at designing and validating a standard instrument for evaluating the internship course in the field of Occupational Health and Safety Engineering (OHSE) from the perspective of trainees. Methods: The dimensions and items of the tool were developed using the panel of experts, syllabus provided by the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education, and literature reviews. Validity of the tool was assessed using face validity, Content Validity Ratio (CVR), Content Validity Index (CVI), and Impact Score (IS). Reliability was evaluated by test–retest reliability analyses and internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha coefficient). Finally, the internship courses were evaluated during three subsequent years (2016-2018) among 45 students of Shahroud University of Medical Sciences (SHMU) in Iran. Results: The final version of the tool contained five dimensions and 20 items. The CVI and CVR were 0.81 and 0.74, respectively. The ISs of all 20 items were above the minimum acceptable value (1.5). The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.79 and test-retest Pearson’s correlation coefficient was significant at 0.891 (p<0.001). The overall mean score of evaluation was estimated to be 3.81, which was acceptable. However, poor mean scores were obtained in “access to equipment and laboratory instruments” and “familiarity with job opportunities and internship” dimensions. Conclusions: The results of this study led to a valid tool for evaluating the OHSE internship course. This standard tool can be used to evaluate the perspective of OHSE trainees about the training period and use the results to correct the weaknesses and reinforce the strengths of the training programs.

ABSTRACT

Abdominal ECG is one of the most promising monitoring techniques for fetal surveillance in the antenatal period, as it presents easy availability and allows the maternal and fetal monitoring simultaneously. However, separation of these signals is complicated and there is no standardized way to evaluate the effectiveness of separation algorithms reported in the literature. Based on the dipole model spread through the three-dimensional maternal abdomen, this paper proposes the implementation of a system for the generation of abdominal ECG signals with controllable characteristics simulating real conditions by interference, heart period variability, number of channels , electrodes location and fetal position. Using the developed system, 50 synthetic test signals were generated and compared with desired values. Results showed a correlation of 0.99 with respect to expected values in the signal interference ratio, with no significant differences in the regression (p>0.05); while the correlation coefficient was 0.87 for the signal to noise ratio, with significant differences below -20 dB (p<0.05) in the regression. In conclusion, the proposed system provides abdominal ECG signals showing similar conditions to those of real signals, and comprises a tool that ensures proper evaluation of separation algorithms of maternal and fetal ECG from abdominal ECG.

The results from this study were summarized below: 1. On the basis of targeting the lower grades (1st- 3th year) and the higher grades (4th-6th year) elementary school students' sexuality education guidebooks published by Korea Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development, 71 preliminary items targeting the lower grades, 90 preliminary items targeting the higher grades were developed. 2. Through the validity test about the contents of the preliminary items three times, the items were regulated to 65 items targeting the lower grads and 57 items targeting the higher grades. And then, the preliminary items were re-regulated to 40 items separately. Then, pre-test which targeting each 30 students was enforced. 3.Finally, the evaluation tools for sexuality education that consisted of 40 items targeting the lower grades and the higher grades were developed. 4.Reliability test of the developed tools, sexuality education evaluation tools showed alpha coefficient of internal consistency were 0.8355 (for the use of the lower grades) and 0.8881 (for the use of the higher grades). 5.To apply the developed sexuality education evaluation tools, 10-times sexuality education were carried out class unit and pre-post test were done using same questionnaire, which contains developed tool, there were significant difference in low grade (t=16.548, p=0.000), high grade (t=14.773, p=0.000). The results of this study suggest that the evaluation tool for sexuality education in elementary school may be a useful tool with a high degree of reliability and validity. In this sense, the evaluation tool for sexuality education developed by this study can be effectively utilized in Korea elementary schools.

ABSTRACT

The Computer-assisted Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point(HACCP) program has been developed for a systematic implementation of HACCP principles in identifying, assessing and controlling hazards in institutional foodservics operations. The HACCP-based sanitation evaluation tool has been developed, based on the results of the computerized assisted HACCP program in 4 service sites of C contracted foodservice company, including 2 general hospitals with 650-beds, one office operation of 400 meals per day, and one factory foodservice of 1,000 meals per day. All database files and processing programs were created by using Unify Vision tool with Windows 95 of user environments. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : 1. This program consists of the pre-stage for HACCP study and the implementation stage of the HACCP system. 1) The pre-stage for HACCP study includes the selection of menu items, the development of the HACCP recipe, the construction of product flow diagrams, and printing the HACCP recipes and product flow diagrams. 2) The implementation of the HACCP system includes the identification of microbiological hazards, the determination of critical control points based on the decision tree base files. 3) The HACCP-based sanitation evaluation tool consisted of 3 dimensions of time-temperature relationship, personal hygiene, and equipment-facility sanitation. The Cronbach's alphas calculation indicated that the tool was reliable. The results showed that the focus groups rated the mean of importance in time-temperature relationship, personal hygiene, and equipment-facility sanitation as 4.57, 4.59 and 4.55 respectively. Based on the results, this HACCP-based sanitation evaluation tool was considered as an effective tool for assuring product quality. This program will assist foodservice managers to encourage a standardized approach in the HACCP study and to maintain a systematic approach for ensuring that the HACCP principles are applied correctly.
