ABSTRACT

As the key operation step in the production of compound Chinese materia medica (CMM) or the natural products, extracting technique not only directly affects the quality of CMM preparations, medicinal resource utilization, and clinical efficacy, but also relates to the development of Chinese pharmaceutical industry. On the basis of consulting literatures, extracting techniques appearing in recent five years are particularly reviewed in the traditional extracting method, new extracting technique, evaluating indicator, and process variable optimization. Further research application and development prospects of these extracting techniques are also suggested.

ABSTRACT

The extraction is the key operation step in the production of Chinese materia medica or the natural products. On the basis of brief description of traditional extracting technologies, extracting techniques appeared in recent five years are particularly reviewed in the principles, features, latest research and application results, and existing problems as well. These new techniques include supercritical fluid extraction(SFE),continuous countercurrent extraction(CCE),microwave-assisted extraction(MAE),ultrasound-assisted extraction(UAE),enzymatic treatment extraction(ETE),semi-bionic extraction(SBE),flooding extraction(FE),press extraction(PE),smashing tissue extraction(STE),heating-free extraction(HFE),air explosion extraction(AEE),ultra-high pressure extraction(UHPE),etc.Further research topics and application prospects of these extracting techniques are also suggested.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the optimum procedure of extracting ginsenoside from Panax ginseng by super pressure extracting technique (SPET). Methods SPET was used to extract ginsenoside from P. ginseng at the normal temperature. The optimum extracting process was selected by the orthogonal test. The contents of ginsenoside in P. ginseng were determined by UV-spectrophotometry. Results The optimum condition of SPET was as follows: when the solid dissolved in 50% ethanol, ratio of raw P. ginseng (g) and solvent (mL) was 1∶75, the pressure was kept at 500 MPa for 2 min; the high yield of ginsenoside was up to 7.76%. Conclusion SPET has a series of advantages, such as higher efficiency, shorter extracting time, and lower exhausting energy, at the same time, the impurity is little, etc.
