ABSTRACT

Objective To study the distribution and development of single-cell sequencing in China from the govern-mental foundation support and the gap with the developed countries in order to provide reference for the relevant de-cision-making departments in promoting further studies on single-cell sequencing. Methods The information was accessed from the foundation support platforms in USA, Britain and China, and the foundation support for studies on single-cell sequencing in USA, Britain and China was analyzed. Results The USA and Britain supported 540 million dollars and 40 million pounds respectively for studies on single-cell sequencing, China supported 100 mil-lion RMB for studies on microbiology, oncology and reproductive medicine with stress laid on technology develop-ment. Conclusion The starting time of foundation support for studies on single-cell sequencing is later in China than in USA and Britain, it is thus necessary for China to promote the application of single-cell sequencing technology by making full use of the existing resources.
