ABSTRACT
RESUMEN El presente trabajo resume las principales tendencias en el conocimiento de los gerromorfos en el ámbito mundial, relacionadas con los avances en sistemática molecular, su uso como indicadores de ambientes cambiantes y la ampliación del saber en varios países Neotropicales. Se revisa la información publicada sobre los Gerromorpha en la última década (2009-2019) en Colombia y se contemplan los diferentes aspectos biológicos, taxonómicos, ecológicos y de distribución geográfica. El desarrollo y el progreso sobre los heterópteros semiacuáticos son la base del emprendimiento de otras investigaciones en Colombia y en el Neotrópico, especialmente en regiones como Mesoamérica y Sudamérica.
ABSTRACT The present work summarizes the main worldwide trends in the Gerromorphans knowledge which are related to the advances in molecular systematics, their use as indicators of changing environments, and knowledge broadening in several Neotropical countries. The information published about Gerromorphans in last decade (2009-2019) in Colombia is reviewed, and the different biological, taxonomic, ecological and geographical distribution aspects are considered. The development and progress about semiaquatic Heteroptera are the base to undertake further investigations in Colombia and at the Neotropic, especially in regions such as Mesoamerica and South America.

En la Reserva Natural Río Ñambi, ubicada en la vertiente del pacífico de los Andes de Colombia, región del Chocó biogeográfico, se estudió la composición de las chinches semiacuáticas. Dos familias Gerridae y Veliidae, cuatro géneros Potamobates, Charmatometra, Rhagovelia y Microvelia y doce especies fueron registradas. Rhagovelia fue el más diverso con cuatro grupos y nueve especies; se incluye una clave ilustrada para las especies de éste género, proporcionando notas sobre la distribución geográfica.
In the Ñambi River Natural Reserve, located in the Pacific slope of the Colombian Andes in the Chocó biogeographical region was studied the composition of semi-aquatic bugs. Two families Gerridae and Veliidae, four genera Potamobates, Charmatometra, Rhagovelia and Microvelia, and twelve species were recorded. Rhagovelia was the most diverse with four groups and nine species, also a key illustrated to species of this genus was included. Additionally notes about geographical distribution were provided.

A partir de la revisión de cinco colecciones entomológicas de Colombia se amplía la distribución departamental para 19 especies de la familia Gerridae y se registran por primera vez las siguientes especies: Neogerris celeris Drake & Harris 1934, especie previamente registrada para Guyana, Brasil, Bolivia y Paraguay; Brachymetra shawi Hungerford & Matsuda 1957, registrada para Guyana, Guyana Francesa, Surinam, Brasil y Bolivia; Potamobates variabilis Hungerford 1938, registrada solamente para el Perú.
From specimens deposited in five entomological collections of Colombia, we extended the geographical distribution of 19 species and record the following three species for the first time for the country: Neogerris celeris Drake and Harris 1934, previously recorded from Guiana, Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay; Brachymetra shawi Hungerford and Matsuda 1957, recorded from Guiana, French Guiana, Suriname, Brazil and Bolivia; and Potamobates variabilis Hungerford 1938, recorded only from Peru.
ABSTRACT
Como una contribución al conocimiento taxonómico y ecológico de la familia Gerridae en Colombia, se presenta un listado de las especies conocidas discriminadas para cada región biogeográfica. Se reportan 16 géneros y 51 especies, distribuidas entre 0 y 2,890 m de altura. Se encontró que los gerridos tienen como hábitos y hábitat preferentes los de agua dulce (81%), se amplió el conocimiento de los hábitats ocupados por estos insectos en el país y se incluye una clave dicotómica basada en estas categorías de hábitats.
As a contribution to the taxonomic and ecologic acknowledge of the Gerridae family in Colombia, a checklist of the known species discriminated for each biogeographic region is presented. There were16 genre and 51 species registered, distributed between 0 and 2.890 m. It was found that the gerrids have preferential habits and habitats related to sweet water (81%) and occupied other habitats in the country. A dichotomic key based in this categories is included.
ABSTRACT
A survey of the the Family Gerridae was made at the Hidrological Basin of the Trombetas river, Pará state, Brazil, since the Headwaters until the Lower Trombetas river. Gerridae was the most representative Family among the aquatic Heteroptera and Gerrinae the most collected subfamily on 12 of the 35 collected points. Maps with the first geographic distributional records for the Trombetas river Basin and a key for the identification of the 5 genera and 6 species is presented.
Foi realizado um levantamento da Família Gerridae na Bacia Hidrográfica do rio Trombetas, Pará, Brasil, desde as cabeceiras até o Baixo Trombetas. Entre os Hemiptera aquático, Gerridae foi a Família mais representativa, sendo Gerrinae a subfamília mais coletada em 12 dos 35 pontos de coleta. Mapas com os primeiros registros da distribuição geográfica de Gerrinae para a Bacia do rio Trombetas e uma chave para a identificação dos cinco gêneros e seis espécies são apresentadas.
