ABSTRACT

The advancement of science and technology in the last century is considered to be superior to everything we had achieved in the past, with direct impacts on health organizations and occupations. The use of computational tools in the health area is growing, as this type of support can enable professionals to achieve more precision and agility in their work. In the context of diagnostic analysis, mobile applications have an auxiliary profile in decision-making, use image analysis technology or have the capacity to transmit data and allow professional monitoring remotely. The use of applications as a teaching tool in the area of health is very innovative, and it is presented as a method useful of generating the interest and the motivation to want to learn more, since the mobile devices that host these applications are used by health professionals in a rate of 45% to 85%. The use of an application as an informative tool intends to contribute to the increase in the number of reports of brain death, as well as an improvement in the potential multiple organ donors, aiming, in a secondary way, a greater contribution in the donation numbers of organs in Brazil. The objectives of this study were: Create a mobile devices application to optimize the donation and transplant process in Brazil; Bring the main scientific and law publications on the process of organ donation and maintenance of the potential donor; Measure applicability and functionality of the application through a validated checklist of functionality. This is an exploratory study of experimental development of a prototype, developed in the Android and iOS platforms, carried out in two stages: Phase 1 with prototype building and phase 2: Usability evaluation, where the MATCH® checklist for usability of applications. The results of this study contribute to the advancement of research related to the topic, with the development of new technologies that bring users closer to scientific knowledge on the subject
