ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C)in the evaluation of synthetic function of the patients with liver diseases. Methods Abbott Aeroset automatic biochemical analyzer was used to detect serum HDL-C level in control group (30 cases) and liver disease group(87 cases).T test was used to analyze the differences of serum HDL-C level in liver disease group and control group, different liver disease groups and control group, and different liver disease groups. Results HDL-C level was (1.28 ±0.20)mmol/L in the control group,(0.77 ± 0.15)mmol/L in the liver disease group, and (0.81 ± 0.13)mmol/L in the hepatitis group,(0.68 ± 0.14)mmol/L in the liver cirrhosis group,(0.54 ± 0.05)mmol/L in the liver cancer group. The HDL-C level in liver disease group and hepatitis group, liver cirrhosis group, liver cancer group was significantly lower than that in the control group(t =15.5569,14.2463,45.4393,25.6344,all P < 0.01).The HDL-C level in liver cirrhosis group and liver cancer group was significantly lower than that in hepatitis group (t =3.6583,16.9057,all P < 0.01).The HDL-C level in liver cancer group was significantly lower than that in liver cirrhosis group(t =4.4103,P < 0.01).Conclusion Serum HDL-C level can be used to evaluate synthetic function of the liver, the lower of serum HDL-C level, the more serious liver synthesis function is impaired.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinical characteristics, risk factors and preventive measures for nosocomial pneumonia in patients with post-hepatitis liver cirrhosis.METHODS A prospective and retrospective study was carried out to investigate the clinical data of 495 patients with post-hepatitis liver cirrhosis in Department of Infectious Diseases during Jan 1,2005 to Dec 31,2007.RESULTS The incidence rate of the nosocomial pneumonia in post-hepatitis liver cirrhosis patients was 13.50 %.The death rate was 25.40 %,which was obviously higher than 6.8% of patients without no nosocomial infection(?2=23.77,P

ABSTRACT

Objective To analysis the outcome of gastroscopy and B ultrasonography in patients of post hepatitis cirrhosis with portal hypertension, and to evaluate the degree of cirrhosis in clinic and affording suggestions in preventing complication. Methods One hundred and ninety two cirrhosis patients with portal hypertension were divided into three groups : mild, moderate and severe group based on the extent of esophageal varicosis. By estimating the diameter of portal vein, thickness of spleen and width of splenic vein in three groups to investigate their correlation with the extent of cardio-esophageal varicosis. Results The incidences of gastric varices in these three groups have prominent difference,The severer the degree of esophageal varices , the higher the incidence of gastric varices. According to the different degree of esophageal varices, the diameter of portal vein, thickness of spleen, diameter of splenic vein are differed. There is linear relation between thickness of spleen and diameter of splenic vein. Conclusion Diameter of portal and splenic vein, thickness of spleen, can provide valuable suggestion in predicting the presence of portal hypertension, but further confirmation is based on the result of gastroendoscopy.

ABSTRACT

Using ~(125)IUdR Release test, the NK activity of peripheral blood Mononuclear cells in patients with different types of B viral hepatitis (54 cases), Liver cirrhosis (LC,42 cases) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC,38 cases) in vitro against k562target cells was detected. In comparison with normal controls, the NK activity was signific- antly increased (P
