ABSTRACT

AIM: To investigate the clinical application value of trazodone combined with cognitive behavioral therapy on heroin addicts during the period of community detoxification. METHODS: A total of 140 heroin addictive patients treated by community detoxification management were randomly divided into four groups, 35 patients were given trazodone combined with cognitive behavioral therapy (T+P group), 35 patients were given a single trazodone therapy (T group), 35 patients were given a single cognitive behavioral therapy (P group), and 35 patients were only given community detoxification management (S group), the course of the treatment lasted for 12 weeks. At the time-point of baseline and the weekends 4, 8 and 12 after treatment, four groups were scored by Hamilton anxiety rating scale (HAMA), Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD), Pittsburgh sleep quality index scale (PSQI), psychological craving rating scale (PCS), Chinese perceived stress scale (CPSS), and urine morphine positive rate. The safety was evaluated with Treatment Emergent Side-effect Scale (TESS) and laboratory test. RESULTS: A total of 125 patients completed the 12 weeks of treatment. HAMA, HAMD and PSQI scores of T+P group and T group on weekends 4, 8 and 12 were significantly reduced when compared with baseline, respectively (P 0.05). CONCLUSION: Trazolone combined with cognitive behavior therapy can significantly improve the negative emotions, sleep quality and other related mental symptom of heroin addiction patients in the community detoxification period, and play a positive role in improving the quality of community detoxification management.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the influence of impulsivity on the functions of the conflict monitoring and the conflict resolution process for heroin addicts. Methods 80 heroin addicts were drawn randomly using simple random sampling method and finished Opioid Addiction Severity Inventory ( OASI ) and Barratt Impulsivity Scale ( BIS-11) .High impulsivity group( 7 females of 22) and low impulsivity group (8 females of 21) were divided according to 27%of the total BIS-11score followed the grouping method in psychometrics. Then the event-related potentials (ERPs) technique with the classical color-word Stroop task was used to reveal the influence of impulsivity on the executive function for heroin addicts. Results ( 1) The scores of motor impulsivity(23.00±1.73) and no-plan impulsivity(27.77±3.22) were higher in high im-pulsivity group than those in low impulsivity group(19.31±2.80,23.38±3.59)(P<0.01);and there was posi-tive correlation between impulsivity and addiction severity( r=0.415, P<0.05).(2) The behavioral data showed significant Stroop interference effects in both groups(P<0.01).(3) ERPs data showed that there were significant incongruent-N450 and SP effects in the low impulsivity group, whereas incongruent N450 and SP effects disappeared in high impulsivity group ( Low impulsivity group incongruent vs congruent condition N450:(2.82±3.09)μV vs (4.51±2.77)μV, P<0.05; SP:(3.54±1.25)μV vs (2.84±1.03)μV, P<0.05;High impulsivity group incongruent vs congruent condition N450:(4.98±4.10)μV vs (3.39±3.31)μV, P<0.05;SP:(3.43±3.84)μV vs (4.66±4.53)μV, P<0.05).Conclusion The brain time-interval change of executive function such as the conflict monitoring and the conflict resolution process is influenced by the im-pulsivity levels of heroin addicts.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the psychological intervention ettectiveness ot socioenvironmental therapyfor heroin addicts accepting compulsory isolation. Methods Totally 100 male heroin addicts accepting compulsory isolation and Labour Camp Rehabilitation were selected and randomly assigned to socioenvironmental therapeutic group (ST group,50 cases) and control group (CT group,50 cases).A two-month socioenvironmental therapy was selectively proceeding in ST group by a same psychological team, while CT group still received conventional rehabilitation.During the 6-month follow-up,self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scal (SDS) and self-made questionnaires were used every 3 months,to statistically estimate psychological status of subjects. Results Before treatment,no statistically significant difference between the two groups;after treatment,SDS score of CT group was 56.16 ± 9.12,and was lower than that in ST group(48.28-± 9.55) (P < 0.01) ; SAS score of ST group was 46.28 ± 7.78,and was lower than that in CT group (50.72 ± 8.32) (P < 0.01).In the 3-month follow-up evaluation, depression, anxiety scores in CT and ST group were significantly lower, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.01) ; 6 months after treatment, depression, anxiety score showed was significant difference between two groups(P< 0.01).Conclusion Group psychotherapy especially socioenvironmental therapy is quick and long-acting in improving the psychological status of heroin addicts in aspects of depression and anxiety levels, which is distinctly evidenced by the short-term and long-term curative results.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the tridimensional personality characteristics of heroin addicts and the relationship with their mental state. Methods The personality character of 113 general adult and 100 heroin addicts were tested with tridimensional personality questionnaire(TPQ),and the mental state for the heroin addicts were tested with symptom of check- list(SCL-90) and to contrast the consequence with the norm of Chinese. Results NS and HA scores in heroin addicts( ( 18.07 ±4.13),( 16.06 ± 5.13) ) were higher than those in normal control group( ( 16.22 ± 4.88),( 13.98 ± 6.11 ) ) (P < 0.05 ),and RD scores ( 17.22 t 3.18 ) was lower than that of the control group (18.27 ± 3.73 ),the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05 ).The total score of SCL-90 and 9 factors score of heroin addicts were higher than the national norm, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.01 ),in which somatization, obsession, depression and psychosis were more prominent ; HA scores in heroin addicts were positively associated with the factors including obsession, interpersonal relation sensitivity, depression and positive project number. The Pearson correlation coefficient were respectively 0.226,0.243,0.201,0.215,the difference was statistically significant (P< 0.05).Conclusion The personality characteristics of heroin addicts is special and is correlated with their mental health state.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of buprenorphine sublingual tablets (Bup) and methadone for heroin addicts on out patients treatment during recovery period. MethodsHeroin addicts who completed acute drug detoxification treatment were assigned in the order of cross to the observation group and control group. The observation group and the control group were treated with Bup and methadone, respectively for six months. Both groups were observed on the time of keeping heroin abstinence during the treatment and were assessed with Anxiety Scale before and after Bup or methadone treatment. ResultsBup group kept abstinence from heroin longer than methadone group ( P <0.01 ) ,and had lower anxiety scores( P <0.05). ConclusionBupernorphine sublingual tablets used for out patients at recovery period could better alleviate heroin addicts' anxiety and prolong their abstinence time.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore systematic intervention methods on life quality of heroin addicts during convalescence stage of drug detoxification period in order to supply evidence for effective nursing intervention. Methods 156 patients accorded with standard were selected by subjective sampling method and were grouped randomly. 78 patients in the control group were given routine nursing,78 patients in the intervention group received systematic intervention including psychological and behavioral intervention and the therapy of physical symptoms. QOLDA was used to evaluate the life quality of all patients. Results The scores of the intervention group were significantly higher than those of the control group, and the intervention group had a higher body mass index (BMI). Conclusions Systematic nursing intervention can perfect the physiological function, mental function and social function, reduce the withdrawal syndrome and adverse effect of heroin addicts, and improve their quality of life.
