ABSTRACT
Object To standardize hospital high-value consumables purchasing procedure to eliminate corruption.Methods The deficiencies of some tertiary Grade A hospital were analyzed in high-value consumables purchasing, and some suggestions based on foreign countries' achievements were proposed including completing high-value consumables purchasing procedure and making anti-corruption efforts in medical institutions.Results It's suggested that high-value consumables management system be completed, admission qualification management and purchasing procedure be standardized and supervision mechanism be established in the hospital.Conclusion Improved high-value consumables purchasing procedure contributes to anti corruption in medical institutions.
ABSTRACT
The authors, based on barcode analysis and tracking technology, designed a complete supply chain management system for ophthalmic consumables, systematically solving the traceability challenge of high-value medical consumables ( mainly implanted medical instruments) . This innovation can sizably reduce the inbound/outbound error rate at level-1 and level 2 warehouses of the hospital, downsizing inventory cost expenditure and upsizing work efficiency. The management of "one item for one code"constitutes a traceable closed loop for such consumables, improving the informationized, standardized and refined management, and reducing the incidence of adverse events for medical devices. Thus the quality management system of eye hospitals can be elevated.

Objective To investigate and analyze the management of high-value medical consumables in the district hospitals of Nanjing so as to facilitate their standardized management.Methods The present situation of high-value medical consumables management in the district hospitals of Nanjing was studied with mass screening,questionnaire and field survey,and discussion meeting and case history sampling were also involved into the study.Results The high-value medical consumables management had problems in organization,clinical application,informatization,supervision and etc.Conclusion The standardized high-value medical consumables management has to be executed from the aspects of rules and regulations,clinical application,informatization,supervision and etc to ensure their safe use in the hospitals.

Compare between the management of high-value medical consumables and modern supply chain management. Based on 4R theory, discusses and analyses the management of high-value medical consumables in Fuwai hospital. By means of 4R theory, modern supply chain management has been optimized for the actual consumable management. And found out a effective method to resolve bullwhip effect caused by the limitations of high-value medical consumables. This research demonstrate modern hospital want to win the competitive initiative only by the improvement of material flow management level.
ABSTRACT
The main intention of this paper is to propose suggestions for optimizing China 's high-value medical consumables centralized procurement .In this paper , we have analyzed the developed countries 'best practices in high-value medical consumables procurement from the perspectives of procurement principle ( s), key procurement bodies, procurement patterns, supervision, and management.The results of our analysis show that “Value for mon-ey” is the core principle in procurement and hospital route , national/regional centralized route ( s) , and group pur-chase organization ( GPO) route are four primary procurement patterns in foreign countries .Procurement management is optimized through improving product coding system and encouraging health technology assessment ( HTA) and clin-ical practitioners'involvement in procurement decision-making.In that perspective, it's been suggested that China's high-value medical consumables centralized procurement could be improved from three aspects:referring partial HTA indicators so as to enhance tender evaluation and realize value-based purchasing;establishing a standard and unified coding system for medical devices;introducing GPO route and make market surveillance mechanism into full play .

Objective To make the management responsibility clear for guarding against the lacking of legal basis in patient lawsuits.Methods An implantable coding database for medical consumables was set.Barcode on packaging bag was scanned in 'information system'.'secondary management database for high-value consumables' was set in operation room.According to a warehouse-out list,the warehouse was checked monthly.Results The flow of all consumables was controlled.Conclusion Operational links are reduced and work efficiency is improved.Besides,the transparency of charges is increased.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2008,29(2):64-65]
