ABSTRACT

Objective@#To explore the quality of life and mental health status of adolescents in Zhengzhou, and to compare with HongKong and Taiwan.@*Methods@#A total of 6 401 students from 12 primary and secondary schools in Zhengzhou City. A total of 3 642 students from HongKong and 1 547 students from Taiwan were selected by cluster sampling. And Padiatric Quality of Life Inventory Version 4.0, Self-Esteem Scale, General Self-efficacy Scale, Depression Anxiety Stress Scale and self-made general situation questionnaire were used to conduct questionnaire survey.@*Results@#The total score of quality of life and the scores of each dimension in Zhengzhou were significantly higher than those in HongKong, while self-esteem and anxiety were lower than those of Taiwan adolescents(P<0.05). In addition to self-esteem, anxiety and stress, the scores of quality of life and mental health of adolescents of different grades and genders in Zhengzhou were statistically different(t=13.53,20.71,10.92,20.26,14.68,-16.03,21.26;6.16,3.81,-2.22,-0.33,8.76,4.16,2.71,P<0.01). The quality of life of adolescents in HongKong and Taiwan in different grades and genders were basically the same as those in Zhengzhou, and the differences of depression and stress scores in grades were the same as those in Zhengzhou.@*Conclusion@#The overall quality of life and mental health of adolescents in Zhengzhou is better than that in Hong Kong and Taiwan. It is necessary to explore the relationship between the quality of life and mental health of adolescents in order to improve their quality of life.

ABSTRACT

Objective To find out the situation of non-rewarded blood donation in the Hong Kong Garrison,and lfficers and men′s knowledge and will on non-rewarded blood donation.Thus,we can provide science bais for improving and optimaling military non-rwarded blood donation.Methods Give questionnaire in 1 610 donators in Hong Kong Garrison.The questionnaires includes basic condition of donators,motive of donation.The investigation discovered that,in aspect of offering love,there were more people who have donated several times than these who have once.In the aspect of considering health problems,non-donators are much more serious than donators.Results The age of blood donations in Hong Kong Garrison mainly ranges form 18 to 35,which ac-counts for 87.6% of the whole donators,offering love was the main reason for serviceman donating blood,among which people who donated once and several times accounts for 54.1% and 67.3% respectively,Military publicity was the main channel of learning blood donation knowledge.People who were willing to keep on donating blood account for 98.1%.Conclusion We should make targeted efforts on publicity,keep on improving blood taking safty measures,construct a well blood taking atmosphere,and show more humanistic concern and communication.So as to build a certain non-remunerated blood donating team and promote a sustained and healthy development of blood donation.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To compare the differences between Hongkong and mainland China in Chinese medicine pharmacy management for reference of improvement of Chinese medicine pharmacy management in both Hongkong and mainland China.METHODS:The management system of Chinese medicinal decoction pieces,Chinese patent medicine and special drugs etc in Hongkong vs.in mainland China were evaluated.RESULTS:The management of Chinese medicine pharmacy in Hongkong is more standard,but there is lack of Chinese medicine pharmacists engaged in Chinese medicine pharmacy management and pharmacy work.The management system of Chinese medicine pharmacy in mainland China remains to be improved.CONCLUSION:It is essential for Hongkong to strengthen the training of local Chinese medicine pharmacists;and in mainland China,great importance should be attached to the management system of Chinese medicine pharmacy.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the epidemiological patterns of HIV infection prevalent in HongKong.Method The epidemiological patterns of HIV infection in HongKong were analyzed with a mathematic model SI by changing its initial condition,which was used to test the related data.Results The changeable patterns of susceptible accumulative numbers of HIV infection in HongKong and the epidemiological curves and the curve of infection velocity were obtained.Conclusion The epidemic pattern of HIV infection in Hongkong and local infection velocity from 1987 to 2004 were well described using the epidemic model SI.An accumulation of 2 733 cases of HIV infection will be predicted in the year of 2005.The epidemic peak occurred in 2002 to 2004 and the overall HIV epidemic will last for 50 years approximately.

ABSTRACT

Object To study the volatile constituents in the TCM preparation "Pao Chai Pill" made in Yangcheng (Guangzhou) (YPCP) in comparison with that made in Hongkong (HPCP) to gain some insight for the renewal of YPCP to a new dosage form Methods The volatile constituents were extracted with the aid of ultrasonic wave in organic solvent, and identified by GC-MS and elucidated on the standard MS data Their relative contents in percentage were calculated by area normalization Results 24 and 20 volatile constituents were identified in YPCP and HPCP respectively Conclusion YPCP showed more rich in sesquiterpene lactones but less sesquiterpenes and sesquiterpene alcohols than HPCP
