ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: There are many kinds of dressings for external use in treating pressure ulcer. Selecting a kind of dressing which is convenient, safe and effective can effectively increase the healing rate of pressure ulcer. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effects of five common dressings on the treatment of pressure ulcer. METHODS: A systematic search of Embase, PubMed, VIP, Elsevier, WanFang and CNKI were carried out with an end-point of July 2018. Randomized controlled trials about the therapeutic effects of different dressings on pressure ulcer were collected. All data were screened, extracted and assessed by two researchers independently. The ADDIS 1.16.8 software was adopted for data analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: A total of 24 randomized control trials (1201 patients) which involved 5 kinds of dressings were included. The results of network Meta-analysis showed that the effect of hydrocolloid dressing and foam dressing were superior to aseptic gauze and vaseline gauze in treating pressure ulcer (P 0.05). Based on the probability ranking table, the therapeutic effects of five kinds of dressl ngs in pressure ulcer were ranked as follows: hydrocolloid dressing > foam dressing > hydrogel dressing > sterile gauze > vaseline gauze. Hydrocolloid dressing and foam dressing were superior to the other dressings in the treatment of pressure ulcer.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of hydrogel dressing for alprostadil-induced phlebitis. Methods Forty-three patients with alprostadil-induced phlebitis were randomly divided into two groups:the treatment group (n= 22),in which hydrogel dressing was applied to affected area, and control group(n = 21),in which mucopolysaccharide polysulfate cream was used to coat the surface of the skin. The curative effects were observed and compared between the two groups. Results The therapy effect on day 7 was superior to that on day 3 in both groups. The curative rate was 86.36% in the treatment group and 47.62% in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Hydrogel dressing can effectively treat alprostadil-induced by phlebitis.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To prepare a hydrogel dressing and investigate its effect on the healing of deep second degree burn wounds in SD rats. METHODS: A hydrogel dressing was prepared and its sterilization method was screened. The skin irritation of the hydrogel dressing was investigated in New Zealand rabbits. A deep second degree burn model of SD rats was prepared by hot solid scald method. Tuojia ointment and Intrasite Gel were adopted as positive controls to investigate its effect on the wound healing. RESULTS The prepared hydrogel dressing was clear and transparent, and the viscosity was well consistent with Intrasite Gel. After radiation sterilization, the viscosity of the hydrogel was sharply decreased. However, the viscosity was not significantly changed before and after high pressure steam sterilization. The hydrogel had no significant skin irritation. The healing time of the experimental group was not significantly shorten than that of the positive control, but has significant difference compared with the vehicle control group(P<0.01). CONCLUSION: Hydroxyethyl cellulose can be used as the matrix of hydrogel dressing. The prepared hydrogel dressing has appropriate viscosity, clarification, and no obvious skin irritation. Besides, it has remarkable healing effect on deep second degree burn wounds in SD rats. So it may have broad application prospects.
