ABSTRACT

Objective To study the protective effect of phenethyl alcohol glycosides extracted from Herba Cistan-chis on human sperm DNA with oxidative damage by Raman spectroscopy. Methods The human sperm model of oxidative damage was induced with Fenton’s reagent in vitro. After co-cultured with the phenethyl alcohol gly-cosides extracted from Herba Cistanchis ( in the dosage of 0.1, 0.01 and 0.001 μg/mL) , the changes of the sperm nuclear DNA were observed by using confocal micro-Raman spectroscopy. Results The intensity and peaks of the Raman spectra of the human sperm nuclei treated by Fenton’s reagent were changed significantly, and then the changes of intensity and peaks were inhibited after treatment with phenethyl alcohol glycosides of Herba Cistanchis, the inhibition being dose-dependent. Conclusion The phenylethyl alcohol glycosides ex-tracted from Herba Cistanchis have protective effect on human sperm DNA with oxidative damage.

ABSTRACT

【Objective】To observe the effect of therapy of artificial menstrual cycle induction by Chinese medicine combined with assisted reproductive techniques(ART)on embryo implantation rate in in-vitro fertilization.【Methods】Sixtynine infertility patients were randomized into groups A(n=30)and B(n=39).Group B was treated with simple ART and group A received ART treatment after artificial menstrual cycle induction by Chinese medicine for 2~3 treatment courses. The therapy of artificial menstrual cycle induced by Chinese medicine respectivdy was carried out by applying Chinese medicine respectively with the actions of tonifying kidney, activating blood and removing stasis, tonifying kidney, and activating blood and regulating menstruation according to the ovarian cyclic changes of maturation of follicle, ovulation, formation of corpus luteum and atrophy of corpus luteum. After treatment, the medication time and dosage of gonadotropin, the number of retrieved oocytes, fertilization rate, cleavage rate, the number of fine quality embryo, embryo implantation rate and pregnancy rate were compared between the two groups.【Results】In group A,the embryo implantation rate was 27.0%,higher than 15.0% in group B(P0.05).【Conclusion】Therapy of artificial menstrual cycle induction by Chinese medicine combined with ART is helpful for the improvement and coordination of organic function, and thus increase embryo implantation rate in infertility patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the effect of acupuncture combined with Guishen Decoction (GD) on serum antisperm antibody (ASAb) level of rat models with immunological infertility. Methods Active immunization was used to establish rat models with positive serum ASAb. Eighty SD rats were alloc ated to four group s: Group A (treated with acupuncture and GD), Group B( treated with GD), Group C (treated with acupuncture), Group D (model control group). GD is composed of Ra dix Re hmanniae Praeparata, Semen Cuscutae, Fructus Ligustri Lucidi, Rhizoma Dioscorae, Fructus Lycii, Ramulus Loranthi, etc.. Results The negative rate of serum A SAb in Group A was significant higher than that in Group B and Group C (P
