ABSTRACT

El ámbito laboral necesita de profesionales de la información capaces no solo de resolver con eficiencia los problemas de la práctica profesional, sino también de tener un desempeño responsable y comprometido. Es por eso que se promueve la formación por competencias en la formación universitaria. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar si algunos recursos, como las habilidades y los valores (incluidos en los planes de estudio actuales en la formación del pregrado en Ciencias de la Información), se corresponden con los necesarios en el ámbito laboral del profesional de la información. Para esto se aplicó un cuestionario, a partir de los planes de estudio D y E, a egresados de la carrera Ciencias de la Información de la Universidad de La Habana y a empleadores de este perfil. Aun cuando la muestra es pequeña, los resultados de la investigación constituyen un punto de partida para el análisis de la correspondencia entre los planes de estudios y las exigencias del mercado laboral, y una aproximación a que el modelo de formación del profesional de la información en el contexto cubano incluye el desarrollo de las habilidades y los valores muy necesarios para el desenvolvimiento exitoso en la actividad(AU)


The job environment requires information professionals capable not only of efficiently solving problems related to their professional practice, but also of doing their work in a responsible and committed manner. This is the reason why competence training is fostered in university education. The purpose of the study was to determine whether certain resources, such as skills and values (included in the current information sciences undergraduate training programs) correspond to those required by the work environment of information professionals. To achieve such an end, a questionnaire about curricula D and E was applied to information sciences graduates from the University of Havana and employers from this field. Despite the small size of the sample, the results of the study constitute a starting point for the analysis of the correspondence between curricula and the demands posed by the job market, as well as a glance at the fact that Cuban information professional training programs include the development of skills and values very much required for successful performance in the field(AU)

ABSTRACT

Analizar el surgimiento de la gestión del conocimiento desde su gestación y orígenes, exponer su evolución y relevancia para las ciencias de la información y analizar el espacio profesional del especialista en información como gestor del conocimiento organizacional. Métodos: se empleó el análisis documental a partir de una búsqueda exhaustiva desarrollada en bases de datos, donde se seleccionaron aquellos documentos que son de importancia para el objetivo propuesto. Se sistematizó la información obtenida y se completó dicha información con vivencias y experiencias de la autora. Resultados: se obtuvo un conjunto de documentos núcleo sobre el tema, que constituyen las referencias de este artículo, y se sistematizó la información acerca de los espacios que pueden ocupar los profesionales de la información en los procesos de gestión del conocimiento. Se analizaron las confusiones conceptuales que se encontraron en la literatura acerca de la gestión del conocimiento y su relación con la gestión de la tecnología. Conclusiones: la gestión del conocimiento es un espacio de total relevancia para el profesional de la información. Analyze the development of knowledge management starting from its gestation and emergence, describe its evolution and relevance for information sciences, and analyze the professional role of information specialists as organizational knowledge managers. Methods: document analysis was performed based on an exhaustive search in databases. A selection was made of documents related to the aim proposed. The information obtained was systematized and supplemented with the author's experiences. Results: a number of core documents about the subject were obtained, which constitute the references for the present paper. Systematization was conducted of the roles of information professionals in knowledge management processes. An analysis was carried out of conceptual confusions found in the literature about knowledge management and its relationship to technology management. Conclusions: knowledge management is a field of indisputable relevance for information professionals. ABSTRACT

En el estudio se busca identificar las posibilidades que ofrece la formación académica en Cuba para el desempeño del profesional de la información como gestor de mercadotecnia. Se abordan teóricamente las funciones básicas del mercadeo y su dimensión informacional, las particularidades del trabajo del gestor de mercadotecnia y las competencias que funda el Plan de Estudios D sobre los egresados de la carrera Ciencias de la Información en el contexto cubano. A partir del análisis de contenido del plan de estudio y las entrevistas aplicadas a diez profesionales de la información que fungen como gestores de mercadotecnia, se visualizaron algunas competencias indispensables que deben formarse en la carrera y consolidarse, posteriormente, en el ejercicio práctico


The study aims to identify the possibilities offered by academic studies in Cuba for the training of information professionals as marketing managers. A theoretical analysis is conducted of the basic functions of marketing and its information dimension, the specific features of the work of the marketing manager, and the competencies developed by Curriculum D in information science graduates in the Cuban context. Based on the analysis of curricular contents and interviews with ten information professionals working as marketing managers, determination was made of some indispensable competencies which should be developed during the training and later on during service practice

ABSTRACT

Apresenta um estudo inicial sobre a possibilidade de aproximar de forma integrada, a abordagem do coaching no contexto da atuação do Profissional da Informação em Serviços de Informação, como um método eficaz de planejamento e aperfeiçoamento pessoal e profissional que este pode trilhar em suas práticas de trabalho. Dessa maneira, na Sociedade da Informação e do Conhecimento e no agora emergente e mutável ambiente de informação, figura-se a aquisição de um 'novo olhar' por parte desse profissional, no que se refere às novas formas de atuação, de novos saberes, bem como de aprendizagem vitalícia. Para tanto, buscou-se refletir sobre a aproximação do coaching à prática do Profissional da Informação em três grandes áreas: na reflexão e no planejamento de sua carreira profissional; na gestão e liderança de equipes de trabalho e na atuação em serviços de referência e informação, uma vez que a capacidade de planejar, tratar, organizar e gerir com eficiência esses ambientes surge quando este profissional adquire consciência e empoderamento de conhecimentos e habilidades necessários ao direcionamento, planejamento, funcionamento e avaliação relacionados ao seu campo de atuação. A pesquisa também pretende inserir uma nova compreensão social e humana a esse profissional em sua atividade de trabalho, seja na promoção ou na ressignificação do potencial humano individual e coletivo de seus colaboradores, bem como de si mesmo, através da adoção do coaching ou apenas objetivando suscitar discussões sobre este tema para a ampliação e necessidade de outras pesquisas nas áreas de Biblioteconomia e Ciência da Informação...


It presents an initial study on the possibility of introducing and relating in an integrative way the coaching approach to the Information Professional's performance context in Information Services as an effective method of personal and professional planning and improvement for their work practices.Thus, it is necessary that such professionals gain a "new perspective" on new ways of performing, acquiring some recent knowledge, as well as continuous learning, in the current emerging and changing information environment of the information and knowledge society. Therefore, it was sought to reflect upon the relation between coaching and the information professional practice in three major areas: pondering about and planning their professional career; management and leadership of work teams and performance of reference and information services, since the capabilities of planning, dealing with, organizing and managing in an effective way arise when such professional becomes aware and acquires necessary knowledge and abilities concerning to the performance area. This research also intends to introduce a new social and human understanding to such professionals in relation to their working activities, whether promoting or conferring a new meaning to individual and collective human potential of their employees, as well as themselves, by means of adopting coaching or only aiming at giving rise to discussions on that theme in order to expand the scope and stimulate new researches in Librarianship and Information Sciences areas...

ABSTRACT

Con el objetivo de diagnosticar los conocimientos y prácticas asociadas al derecho de autor de los profesionales de la información de los institutos y centros de investigaciones de la red de salud de La Habana, se realizó un estudio descriptivo durante el período marzo-junio de 2010. Se aplicó un cuestionario a profesionales de 12 Institutos y e igual número de centros de investigaciones. Se realizó un grupo focal y una entrevista. Fueron identificados los conocimientos sobre términos, relaciones e implicaciones del derecho de autor, así como la correspondencia entre sus conocimientos y prácticas profesionales en los procesos de desarrollo de colecciones, diseño de productos, prestación de servicios y la alfabetización informacional. Se destacan como principales resultados del estudio el bajo nivel de conocimiento de los profesionales sobre los términos, contenidos y legislaciones del derecho de autor, la aplicación de algunas nociones con mayor frecuencia durante la alfabetización informacional y el desarrollo de colecciones, así como el reconocimiento por parte de los involucrados en el estudio de sus debilidades y la necesidad de superarlas.


A descriptive study over March-June, 2010 was conducted to assess the knowledges and practices associated with the copyright of information professionals from institutes and research centers of the health network of La Habana. A questionnaire was administered to the professionals from 12 institutes and research centers. A focal group and an interview were made. The authors identified the knowledges on terms, relationships and implications of the copyright, as well as the correspondence among their knowledges and professional practices in the processes of development of collections, products designs, services provision and the information teaching. As main study results stood out the low level of professional's knowledges on terms, contents and copyright legislations, the implementation of some very frequent notions during the information teaching and the development of collections, as well as the recognition by involved in the study of their weakness and the need of overcoming of the same.

ABSTRACT

Se realiza un breve recorrido en el tiempo respecto a la evolución experimentada por el profesional de la información en su función ostensible, debido a la necesidad de satisfacer exigencias cada vez de mayor envergadura. Se fundamenta la influencia ejercida por las circunstancias cambiantes de cada época en la transformación y enriquecimiento del papel de este profesional ante la sociedad. Se razonan las tareas tradicionales que aún debe desempeñar por su naturaleza y se justifican las que ha tenido que asumir desde tiempos lejanos hasta la irrupción de las nuevas tecnologías de la información y la comunicación. Se enfatiza la alta responsabilidad que corresponde en particular al profesional de la información en el ámbito de la salud, como integrante de un equipo multidisciplinario con la función fundamental de gestionar información y conocimientos basados en pruebas y orientados a la conservación, promoción y recuperación de la salud. y a la prolongación de la vida humana.


The evolution experienced with the course of time by information professionals in their ostensible function, due to the need to satisfy demands of growing importance is dealt with. An analysis is made of the influence exerted by the changing circumstances of each epoch on the transformation and improvement of the role of these professionals in society. The traditional tasks that these professionals should still perform according to their nature are analyzed as well as the justifications for those tasks they have had to assume for a long time, up to the appearance of new information and communication technologies. Emphasis is given to the high responsibility that corresponds particularly to information professionals within the health field, as members of multidisciplinary teams with the main function of negotiating evidence based information and know-how directed to the conservation, support and recovery of health and the prolongation of human life.
