ABSTRACT

Exponer las experiencias de un programa de alfabetización informacional para el personal bibliotecario de la Universidad de Sancti Spíritus José Martí Pérez. Métodos: se realizó un estudio descriptivo a los 12 recursos humanos con que cuenta la biblioteca. Se aplicaron dos encuestas, antes y después de impartido el programa, en el período comprendido entre enero y abril de 2014. Se siguió el modelo formulado por Eisenberg y Berkowitz, denominado Big 6, para el diseño del programa de alfabetización informacional. Resultados: el 80 por ciento del personal bibliotecario manifestó satisfacción con el programa recibido y el 89 por ciento estuvo de acuerdo con los contenidos dispuestos en los cursos dentro del programa de alfabetización informacional. El 92 por ciento de los encuestados reconoció las destrezas desarrolladas a partir del programa implementado. El 25 por ciento del total de participantes elaboró dos artículos que fueron enviados a revistas indexadas en SCOPUS; 17 por ciento a revistas indexadas en LATINDEX y 33 por ceinto a revistas certificadas por el CITMA en Cuba. Present the results of an information literacy program for the library staff at "José Martí Pérez" University of Sancti Spiritus. Methods: a descriptive study was conducted with the 12 library staff. Two surveys were applied, one before and one after the program, from January to April 2014. Design of the information literacy program was based on the model proposed by Eisenberg and Berkowitz, known as the Big Six. Results: 80 percent of the library staff expressed satisfaction with the program received, and 89 percent agreed with the contents included in the information literacy program. 92 percent of the respondents acknowledged the development of skills through the program implemented. 25 percent of the total participants wrote two papers and had them submitted to journals indexed in Scopus, 17 percent to journals indexed in Latindex and 33 percent to journals certified by CITMA in Cuba. Conclusions: teachers stated the progress achieved by participants in the courses, and recognized the usefulness of the program for the development of library competencies and functions...

ABSTRACT

Realizar un análisis del plan de estudio D de la Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Información desarrollado en Cuba, para caracterizar las habilidades comunicativas que en él se declaran. Métodos: las habilidades que se declaran en el modelo del profesional, los años académicos y las disciplinas se representaron mediante mapas de palabras. Se realizó la triangulación del método bibliométrico con el análisis de contenido del plan de estudios D. Resultados: en el documento, los infinitivos vinculados con el universo comunicativo estaban relacionados con la presentación de la información a través de productos, servicios y sistemas informativos, así como con proyectos de socialización de la lectura y la formación de prácticas lectoras para diferentes usos educativos, informativos y de esparcimiento. Conclusiones: las habilidades receptivas se presentan de forma explícita e implícita, asociadas a la lectura y la escucha. Las habilidades productivas se enuncian con mayor frecuencia de forma explícita encaminadas al desarrollo de la expresión oral y escrita. Analyse the Curriculum D developed in Cuba for the BA in Information Sciences and characterize the communication skills stated therein. Methods: the skills stated in the professional's model, academic years and disciplines were represented by means of word maps. Triangulation was performed of the bibliometric method with the content analysis of Curriculum D. Results: in the document, infinitives related to communication were linked to the presentation of contents through information products, services and systems, as well as projects for the socialization of reading and the development of reading practices for various educational, information and leisure purposes. Conclusions: input skills were presented in an explicit and implicit manner and were associated to reading and listening. Output skills were more commonly stated in an explicit manner and were aimed at developing oral and written expression. ABSTRACT

Apresenta um estudo inicial sobre a possibilidade de aproximar de forma integrada, a abordagem do coaching no contexto da atuação do Profissional da Informação em Serviços de Informação, como um método eficaz de planejamento e aperfeiçoamento pessoal e profissional que este pode trilhar em suas práticas de trabalho. Dessa maneira, na Sociedade da Informação e do Conhecimento e no agora emergente e mutável ambiente de informação, figura-se a aquisição de um 'novo olhar' por parte desse profissional, no que se refere às novas formas de atuação, de novos saberes, bem como de aprendizagem vitalícia. Para tanto, buscou-se refletir sobre a aproximação do coaching à prática do Profissional da Informação em três grandes áreas: na reflexão e no planejamento de sua carreira profissional; na gestão e liderança de equipes de trabalho e na atuação em serviços de referência e informação, uma vez que a capacidade de planejar, tratar, organizar e gerir com eficiência esses ambientes surge quando este profissional adquire consciência e empoderamento de conhecimentos e habilidades necessários ao direcionamento, planejamento, funcionamento e avaliação relacionados ao seu campo de atuação. A pesquisa também pretende inserir uma nova compreensão social e humana a esse profissional em sua atividade de trabalho, seja na promoção ou na ressignificação do potencial humano individual e coletivo de seus colaboradores, bem como de si mesmo, através da adoção do coaching ou apenas objetivando suscitar discussões sobre este tema para a ampliação e necessidade de outras pesquisas nas áreas de Biblioteconomia e Ciência da Informação...


It presents an initial study on the possibility of introducing and relating in an integrative way the coaching approach to the Information Professional's performance context in Information Services as an effective method of personal and professional planning and improvement for their work practices.Thus, it is necessary that such professionals gain a "new perspective" on new ways of performing, acquiring some recent knowledge, as well as continuous learning, in the current emerging and changing information environment of the information and knowledge society. Therefore, it was sought to reflect upon the relation between coaching and the information professional practice in three major areas: pondering about and planning their professional career; management and leadership of work teams and performance of reference and information services, since the capabilities of planning, dealing with, organizing and managing in an effective way arise when such professional becomes aware and acquires necessary knowledge and abilities concerning to the performance area. This research also intends to introduce a new social and human understanding to such professionals in relation to their working activities, whether promoting or conferring a new meaning to individual and collective human potential of their employees, as well as themselves, by means of adopting coaching or only aiming at giving rise to discussions on that theme in order to expand the scope and stimulate new researches in Librarianship and Information Sciences areas...

ABSTRACT

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo en el Centro Provincial de Información de Ciencias Médicas de Camagüey, entre septiembre de 2011 y junio de 2012, con el objetivo de diseñar un sistema de acciones que contribuyera a fortalecer la responsabilidad como valor moral. Para evaluar su comportamiento a nivel institucional se aplicaron la encuesta y la observación. Los resultados de este análisis se procesaron según el método de ranqueo para dar prioridad a las acciones. Los datos se tabularon por el método estadístico porcentual. La valoración del sistema se realizó por un grupo nominal de especialistas. Su elaboración contribuirá al fortalecimiento del valor responsabilidad en los profesionales de la información de acuerdo con los requerimientos actuales de la sociedad cubana y la prestación de servicios de excelencia


A descriptive study was conducted at Camagüey Provincial Medical Sciences Information Center from September 2011 to June 2012, with the purpose of designing a system of actions aimed at strengthening responsibility as a moral value. The status of responsibility at institutional level was evaluated by means of surveys and observation techniques. The results of this analysis were processed using the ranking method to prioritize the actions. The data were tabulated with the percentage statistical method. The system was evaluated by a nominal group of specialists. Development of the system will contribute to strengthening the value responsibility among information professionals in keeping with the current requirements of Cuban society and the purpose of rendering services of excellence

ABSTRACT

Con el objetivo de consolidar un conjunto de elementos fundamentales relacionados con la medicina basada en evidencias, útiles a los profesionales de la información en salud sin una formación avanzada en el tema, se sintetizan algunos de los aspectos claves en ésta área del conocimiento. Se exponen, en forma abreviada, una serie de aspectos tratados con anterioridad por los autores, y a ellos, se incorporan sus experiencias y reflexiones en relación con este modelo para el ejercicio de la clínica, con vista a mostrar una concepción más actual y madura sobre el tema, que posibilite a los profesionales de la información en salud percatarse de las oportunidades que les ofrece este modelo para su crecimiento profesional, especialmente de aquellos que laboran en instituciones de la salud dedicadas a la asistencia médica. Se tratan los antecedentes de la medicina basada en evidencias; las insuficiencias de la práctica médica tradicional y los beneficios del nuevo modelo; el carácter particular de la medicina basada en evidencias, y su práctica, como expresión de los postulados de la gerencia de la información en pos del conocimiento; la importancia, ventajas y características de los productos y servicios de información propios de esta concepción; las figuras del bibliotecario clínico y el informacionista, así como el impacto de los nuevos enfoques sobre la práctica clínica actual.


With the aim of to strengthen a set of fundamental elements related to evidence-based medicine, useful for the health information professionals without an advanced training on the subject, some of the key features in this knowledge area are summarized. Some features approached beforehand in an abridged way by authors are exposed incorporating its experiences and reflections in relation to this form to exercise the clinic to show a more updated and mature conception on this subject, allowing to information health professionals to notice of the chances offered by this form for its professional knowledge, specially in those working in health institutions devoted to medical assistance. The backgrounds of evidence-based medicine; the insufficiencies of the traditional medical practice and the benefits of the new form; the particular character of evidence-based medicine and its practice, as expression of the postulates of information management after the knowledge; the significance, the figures of clinical librarian and the information technician, as well as the impact of new approaches on the current clinical practice.

ABSTRACT

Se exponen las características y el contenido del CD "Gestión de Información en Salud" (GIS) como valioso instrumento docente para apoyar el proceso de alfabetización informacional (ALFIN) y el desarrollo de competencias informacionales en los profesionales de Higiene y Epidemiología como parte integral del Sistema Nacional de Salud de Cuba. Este curso se apoya en los nuevos modelos educativos caracterizados por un aprendizaje para toda la vida, colaborativo, abierto, interactivo y experimental; así como por el fomento de la autonomía del individuo y el desarrollo de su capacidad crítica.


The characteristics and the content of the CD "Health Information Management" (HIM) as a value teaching tool to support the information literacy process (ILP) and the development of information competences in professionals of Hygiene and Epidemiology as a integral part of National Health System of Cuba. This course is based in the new educational models characterized by a collaboration, open, interactive and experimental learning for life; as well as by the encouragement of the subject autonomy and the development of its critical ability.

ABSTRACT

Se exponen los criterios de diversos autores sobre el tratamiento del sistema de capitales en las organizaciones de información. Se presentan los indicadores de medida más utilizados y algunas aplicaciones prácticas de modelos para la medición del capital intelectual en esta clase de organizaciones. Finalmente, se analiza el papel del profesional de la información ante el desafío de la medición del capital intelectual.


Criteria of different authors are exposed about the treatment of the system of capitals in the organizations of information. The most frequently used indicators of measurement are presented as well as some practical applications of models to measure the intellectual capital in these kinds of organizations. Finally, the role of the professional in the measurement of the intellectual capacity in the information is analyzed.
