ABSTRACT

This study was aimed to analyze and compare liposoluble constituents and their inhibitory effects on H22 hepatoma carcinoma cells in mice of Aquilaria sinensis seeds from different extraction ways.Liposoluble constituents from A.sinensis seeds were extracted by steam distillation (SD),accelerated solvent extraction (ASE),petroleum ether (PE),soxhlet extraction (SE) and physical squeeze (PS).And then,GC-MS was used to analyze and define the constituents.Meanwhile,MTT assay was used to inv estigate the inhibitory effect of liposoluble extracts on the H22 hepatoma carcinoma cells.The results showed that the yield of liposoluble extracts from A.sinensis seeds by SE and SD was the most.There were seven major components,which were saturated fatty acids,unsaturated fatty acids,esters,alkanes,olefins,aldehydes and alcohols.The yield rates were 48.88% and 0.0096%,respectively.The liposoluble extracts from A.sinensis seeds by PE were five types,which contained unsaturated fatty acids,esters,alkanes,olefins and aldehydes,with the yield rate of 36.31%.The liposoluble extracts obtained from rapid solvent extraction included four components,which were saturated fatty acids,unsaturated fatty acids,esters and olefins.The extraction rate was 37.36%.PS contained only three constituents,which were saturated fatty acids,unsaturated fatty acids and alkenes.The extraction rate was 40.12%.The inhibitory effect of 1 mg·mL-1 liposoluble extract on the proliferation of H22 hepatoma carcinoma cells was ASE-E > SE-E > PS-E > SD-E > PE-E.It was concluded that different extraction methods had different effects on the constituents of liposoluble extracts from A.sinensis seeds.The liposoluble extracts of A.sinensis seeds have inhibitory effects on hepatoma carcinoma cells.It provided a new way for the using of A.sinensis seeds and anti-hepatoma drug development.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the inhibitory actions of 3 traditional Chinese drugs on human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells CNE-2 in vitro.METHODS:The IC50(50% inhibiting concentration)of 3 traditional Chinese drugs on human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells CNE-2 in vitro was measured by MTT assay.RESULTS:The inhibitory actions of 3 traditional Chinese drugs on human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells CNE-2 in vitro were enhanced with the increase of the concentration in a concentration-dependent manner,with formulation Ⅲ showing the most potent inhibitory action on CNE-2 cells in vitro.CONCLUSION:The heat-clearing and detoxicating traditional Chinese drugs could markedly inhibit the proliferation of CNE-2 cells.

ABSTRACT

Object To study the effects of total alkaloids in Equisetum pratense Ehrh. (TAEP) on the activity of monoamine oxidase B (MAO B) in mice brain, to reveal the mechanism of its inhibitory action on the central nervous system (CNS). Methods The activity of MAO B was determined by UV spectrophotometry. Results TAEP can markedly activate MAO B in cerebrum and antagonise the inhibition of MAO B activity by nialamide. Conclusion TAEP is a MAO B agonist with an action for the evacuation of monoamine, this may be considered as one of the mechanisms of TAEP sedative and tranquilizing action on CNS.
