ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of acupuncture and moxibustion in the adjuvant treatment of internet addiction disorder.@*Methods@#From January 2013 to April 2015, a total of 38 patients with internet addiction disorder were randomly selected and divided into study group(19 cases) and control group(19 cases) according to the odd and even order of hospitalize.The control group received psychological therapy, antianxiety therapy and antidepression therapy.The study group received acupuncture and moxibustion in addition to all therapies of the control group.The patients were treated for 8 weeks.Chiese Internet Addiction Scale(CIAS), Family Assessment Device(FAD), HAMD, HAMA were used to determine the internet addiction severity and social function of the two groups at baseline and the 8th weekend of treatment, and TESS at the 8th weekend of treatment.@*Results@#At the 8th weekend of treatment, the scores of CIAS, FAD, HAMA+ HAMD in the two groups were all significantly lower than baseline[(86.8±13.6)points vs.(38.3±11.5)points, t=11.872, (85.6±12.3)points vs.(54.6±18.2)points, t=7.123; (185.8±31.5)points vs.(80.6±29.4)points, t=10.643, (182.7±12.7)points vs.(110.5±32.3)points, t=9.068; (53.4±7.6)points vs.(21.7±9.7)points, t=11.215, (55.2±8.3)points vs.(35.2±8.3)points, t=7.428)](all P<0.05). At the 8th weekend of treatment, the scores of CIAS, FAD, HAMA+ HAMD in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group(t=3.301, 2.985, 10.825, all P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence rate of side effects between the two groups(all P>0.05).@*Conclusion@#Acupuncture and moxibustion is effective and safe in the treatment of patients with internet addiction disorder.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To know the effect of counseling on personality feature and self-conscious symptom of college students with internet addiction disorder (IAD).Methods:Before and after counseling,38 students with IAD in Guangdong Medical College (GDMC)were measured by Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire (16PF)and Symptom Check List 90 (SCL-90).Results:After counseling,these students with IAD had higher scores of 4 factors in 16PF(sociability,intelligence,perseverance,autonomy),had lowerer scores of 5 factors in 16PF (daring,suspicion,illusion,anxiety,tensity),and had lower scores of 6 factors in SCL-90 (force,interpersonal sensitivity,depression,anxiety,hostility,terror)(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion:To college students with IAD, counseling could enhance their positive personality features,weaken their negative personality feature and mitigate their self- conscious symptom.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the epidemic characters of Pathological Internet Usage (PIU) in the newly enrolled post-graduates and further to detect the relationship between PIU and relative social environment, etc., so as to provide more evidence for the etiology of PIU. Methods Questionnaire was conducted in 556 newly enrolled post-graduate students of a medical university. The recovery rate of the valid questionnaires was 94.72%, and the data were analyzed by chi-square test, t-test and logistic regression. Results The rate of internet-utilizing students in recent one year was 95.3%, thereinto, 5.3% of them was with internet addiction disorder. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the major impact factors were gamble, playing games, the heavy study pressure, psychoticism personality characteristic tendency and low self-respect, the OR values (95%CI) were 13.966 (1.662~117.835), 3.440 (1.401~8.450), 1.249 (1.096~1.423), 0.889 (0.821~0.963) and 2.749 (1.167~6.475), respectively (all P

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the psychological risk factors of internet addiction disorder use(IAD) among the first grade graduate students of medical science,and to provide evidence for the prevention against IAD.Methods:Total 556 students completed a questionnaire including self-designed General Conditions Questionnaire,Symptom Checklist-90(SCL-90),Self-esteem Scale(SES),Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ) and Chinese Internet Addiction Scale-Revised(CIAS-R).The recovery rate of the valid questionnaires was 94.72%.Logistic multivariable analysis was used to find out the psychological risk factors.Results: One-factor analysis shows that significant related factors that emerged as common correlates with IAD were sex,present live-condition approval,study pressure,the level of mental health condition,personality characteristic,self-esteem etc.Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that the major impact factors were the heaver study pressure,psychiatric personality traits tendency and low self-esteem.Conclusion:the graduates IAD is closely connected with psychological factors.The relevant departments should pay much attention to their mental health,and guide them to use internet reasonably to avoid affecting mental and body health.

ABSTRACT

Objective: Investigate the characteristics of Internet Addiction Disorder and Sensation Seeking of middle school and high school students, and the relationship between addiction and sensation seeking. Methods: Internet Addiction Test Questionnaire and Zuckerman's Sensation Seeking Scale were administered to 307 students in a middle school and a high school in Beijing. Results: Sex and grade differences obviously existed in IAD. Boys and middle school students were easier to be addicted to Internet. The score of Boredom Susceptibility of sensation seeking was positively correlated to IAD. Conclusion: Certain relationship between IAD and sensation seeking did exist.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To explore the effect of psychotherapy in treating middle school students with IAD (internet addiction disorder). Methods: 23 cases of middle school students with IAD had been treated by cognitive therapy or behavior therapy. The IAD scale, SCL-90 scale and SDS scale were used to evaluate the effect before and after therapy. Results: After therapy, the total scores and most dimensions scores in IAD scale, SCL-90 scale and SDS scale decreased significantly than that before therapy. Conclusions: Psychotherapy especially cognitive therapy and behavior therapy is an effective in treating middle school students with IAD.
