ABSTRACT

Objective To discuss the preoperative interstitial chemotherapy effect and significance on Ki‐67 and Caspase‐3 in oral squamous cell carcinoma .Methods 60 cases of well‐differentiated oral squamous cell carcinoma were divided into three groups ,non chemotherapy before operation group(n= 30) ,intravenous chemotherapy before operation group (n= 15) and interstitial chemo‐therapy before operation group(n=15) .The expressions of Ki‐67 and Caspase‐3 were determined by immunohistochemical method , then compared between three groups .Results The labelling index of Ki‐67 in tissue of carcinoma were significant differences a‐mong each groups(P< 0 .05) .The labelling index of Ki‐67 in adjacent mucosas of carcinoma were significant differences among three groups(P<0 .05) .The expression rates of Caspase‐3 were significant differences among three groups(P<0 .05) .Conclusion Preoperative interstitial chemotherapy than preoperative intravonous chemotherapy for oral squamous carcinoma more inhibit tumor growth and reduce local recurrence through the inhibition of cell proliferation and induction of cell apoptosis ,thus inhibiting tumor growth .

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the clinical significance of interstitial chemotherapy applied in breast cancer. Methods Sixty breast cancer patients with modified radical mastectomy were divided into treatment group (40 cases) and control group (20 cases) according to whether using fluorouracil implants. The control group was given conventional treatment. In treatment group, distilled water washed the wound after conventional treatment, and fluorouracil implants (0.4 g) was placed below local tumor, between pectoralis major and pectoralis minor, below 0.5 cm axillary vessel. The bone marrow suppression, liver and renal function, gastrointestinal reaction, skin flap necrosis, subcutaeous hydrops, local recurrence were observed in the 2 groups. Results There were no significant differences in the rates of bone marrow suppression, liver and renal function abnormal, skin flap necrosis, subcutaeous hydrops and gastrointestinal reaction between treatment group and control group (P > 0.05).The rate of local recurrence in treatment group was significantly lower than that in control group [0 vs.20.0% (4/20)],there was statistical difference (P <0.05).Conclusion Intraoperative application of fluorouracil implants is safe and effective in modified radical mastectomy of breast cancer.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the drug distribution in the local tissues and lymph nodes treated with targeting and continuous interstitial chemotherapy for the oral squamous cell carcinoma before operation. Methods:8 patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma were treated by implanting the sustain-released cisplatin around and into the primary lesion. Drug distribution in tissue were studied by the graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. Results:The drug concentration in the center of the tumor,1 cm and 2 cm from the tumor fringe were (34.877 1?15.720 8),(20.690 0 ?15.688 6) and (6.635 7?3.862 3) ?g/g, respectively. The drug concentration within lymph nodes of the sub-mental and submandibular area, deep cervical lymph nodes for the upper, middle and lower were(2.991 4?3.055 7),(4.026 0 ?3.692 0), (7.192 0 ? 8.958 7) and (5.028 5?3.484 3)?g/g, respectively. Conclusion:Targeting and continuous interstitial chemotherapy for the oral squamous cell carcinoma by implanting sustain-released cisplatin can increase drug concentration in the local tissues and the lymph nodes, to attain good efficacy of targeting chemotherapy.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To observe the efficacy and side effect of targeting and continuous interstitial chemotherapy in the treatment of tongue squamous cell carcinoma.Methods:Sustain-released cisplatin(20 mg/piece) was implanted into and around tongue squamous cell carcinoma in 10 cases,20 mg was used for the tumor at T1,40 mg for T2 and 60 mg for T3.7~10 days after implantation tumor resection was performed, the efficacy and side effect were observed. Results:The size of all tumor were reduced,50%-60% reduction was observed in 8 cases. Pathological examination of after-operation samples showed cancer cell necrosis in the center, and the degeneration and necrosis in the peripheral tissues where the drug had been implanted in.Necrosis and tissue degeneration could be seen in the metastasized lymph nodes. The side effects were local pain, hyperemia and edema in all the cases.Slight high temperature and nausea were observed in a few cases. Conclusion:The sustain-released cisplatin implanted into lesions is effective for the treatment of squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue with no severe side effects.
