ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the relationship between psychological distress and intimacy in stroke patients and the mediating effect of different dyadic coping style, to provide theoretical guidance for improving the intimate relationship of stroke patients. Methods:A convenient sampling method was used to select 203 patients with stroke who visited the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University, the People's Hospital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and the Department of Neurology of Yinchuan First People's Hospital from December 2020 to July 2021 as the survey objects. The general information questionnaire, Kessler Psychological Distress Scale, Quality of Relationship Index and Dyadic Coping Inventory were used to investigate patients. Results:The scores of psychological distress, intimate relationship, positive dyadic coping and negative dyadic coping were 19.33 ± 7.46, 32.75 ± 6.79, 86.25 ± 13.22, and 16.46 ± 4.08, respectively. Correlation analysis showed that psychological distress was negatively correlated with intimate relationship and positive dyadic coping ( r=-0.195, -0.204, both P<0.01), psychological distress was positively correlated with negative dyadic coping ( r=0.229, P<0.01). The mediating effect of positive dyadic coping and negative dyadic coping on psychological distress and intimate relationship was 35.87% and 53.26%, respectively. Conclusions:The psychological distress indirectly affects the intimate relationship of stroke patients through positive dyadic coping and negative dyadic coping. Health care workers can guide patients to actively cope with the disease and encourage couples to strengthen communication, so as to enhance the intimacy of couples and promote their physical and mental health development.

ABSTRACT

In the systemic perspective, family is a system capable of self-organization, which possesses enough resources and ability to solve its own problems. To promote family health, the systemic therapists are required to consider each family member’s opinions and construction to certain problems, and assist them to discover and activate their own resources as well. Promoting family health also requires members to actively develop a sharing pattern within the family, exert the positive role of family rules, develop an authoritative parenting style so as to promote the mental health of children. Family members should ensure the clear and open boundaries between different subsystems, and maintain the stability of subsystem of the husband and wife especially. Furthermore, family members in different subsystems should make reasonable trade-offs and choices corresponding to different situations in order to both minimize conflicts and maintain the satisfying function of the family system. A healthy and ideal intimate relationship is interpreted from the systemic perspective of " evolvable, changeable, associative" on the core of " intimacy, passion and commitment" . The relationship will enhance partners' personal growth, in which the partners can not only examine its dynamic variations together but also deepen the understanding and acceptance of each other under the circumstances of bilateral original families and living environments. In addition, a healthy conjugal relationship has higher requirements such as " kinship" , commitment to two families of the couple and the children, and balancing the benefits between core family and original family.

ABSTRACT

Objective To develop the scale to measure online intimate relationship and test its validity and reliability for college students. Methods A total of 1 105 subjects were recruited in this investigation for 6 times.Based on literatures,open-ended questionnaire investigations,semi-structured interview and experts' opinions, item analyses, exploratory factor analyses, validity and reliability analysis were conducted to develop the scale. Results The self-made scale showed a second-order structure, including intimacy, passion and commitment dimension.Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the model had good fit (χ2/df=3.47,GFI=0.92,NFI=0.90,CFI=0.92,TLI=0.90,IFI=0.92,RMSEA=0.08).The 3 dimensions had good internal reliability with Cronbach's α coefficients from 0.73 to 0.89 and retest reliability coefficients from 0.80 to 0.91.In addition, the scale had good external validity and convergent validity.ConclusionThe self-made scale has acceptable reliabilities and validities, which can be used to measure online intimate relationship for college students.
