ABSTRACT

Objective To discuss the relationship between discipline ranking and personnel rationality,and explore the problems of personnel development among all the disciplines and put forward further countermeasures.Methods A 3A general hospital in Beijing was targeted,and departments in it were divided into,in descending order of hospital regulations,key disciplines,developing-key disciplines,characteristic disciplines and general disciplines.To analyze the rationality of personnel,four dimensions as educational background structure,professional title structure,age structure and academic proficiency of department leader were adopted.Results The hospital had 52 departments in total,which were divided into key disciplines (7),developing-key disciplines (10),characteristic disciplines (6) and general disciplines (29).With the decline of the discipline level,the problem of the talent team was gradually increasing.The major problem of personnel among all the disciplines was that the proportion of senior staff was too high,so did the key disciplines and developing key disciplines.Age structure irrationalized was another major problem for developing-key disciplines.As for characteristic disciplines,the problems in personnel were even diversified,which included not only the irrational age structure and senior professional proportion,but also the fact that director of one third of these departments showed low academic proficiency.In general disciplines,all above four types of problems exited.Conclusions The rationality of the talent team is closely related to the level of the discipline.Problems in personnel varied among different disciplines,and countermeasures should be provided targeted at existing problems.

ABSTRACT

Objective This article was aimed to take exploratory evaluation on the scientific research performance of provincial key disciplines in a medical university,and to provide a scientific basis for the discipline evaluation related topics.Methods This paper took 29 provincial key disciplines in a medical university as the evaluation system.We calculated the scientific research performance of key disciplines.Data envelopment analysis (DEA) method was used to evaluate the scientific level of performance,while the use of TOPSIS and gray correlation analysis method to rank the efficiency of its research,and the results obtained by the three methods was used for statistical correlation analysis.Results According to the results calculated by DEA Method,there were 18 DEA efficient units and 11 non-DEA efficient units.While in this 11 non-DEA efficient units,8 of them needed to reduce re source inputs and the other 3 units needed to increase research outputs.Meanwhile there were significant positive correlations between evaluation results of TOPSIS Method andGrey Correlation Analysis Method with Data Envelopment Analysis Method,respectively [the correlation coefficient:rs 1 =0.797(P =0.000); rs 2=0.583(P =0.007); rs 3-0.536(P =0.003)].Conclusions Compared to TOPSIS Method and Grey Correlation Analysis Method,DEA Method not only could evaluate the ef fectiveness of discipline,but also provide evidence to improve the non-DEA efficient units.

ABSTRACT

Objective To build a clinical key disciplines evaluation index system for county level hospitals in Chengdu city.Methods Literature meta analysis, focus group discussion, expert consultation method, boundary value method, brainstorming and hierarchy analysis method were comprehensively used.Results The clinical key disciplines evaluation index system for county level hospitals in Chengdu city comprises 5 level-1 indexes,1 6 level-2 indexes,47 level-3 indexes.Among the level-1 indexes,service capacity,medical quality,technical personnel,scientific research and education, and foundation of specialty was 0.474 6,0.202 7,0.148 2,0.097 7,0.076 8 respectively.Conclusion The clinical key disciplines evaluation index system for county level hospitals in Chengdu city is scientific, guiding and practical,which can be used to evaluate the status of the clinical key disciplines for county level hospitals in Chengdu city.

In hospitals,the construction and development of key academic disciplines is the fundamental driving force for the ongoing improvement of healthcare competence and scientific research capacity.This paper draw on the experience of a recent 3-year disciplinary development program of a comprehensive hospital in Shanxi province,discussed measures that has been proven effective and set up guide line for future advancement of disciplinary development.

ABSTRACT

The indices of the average level of major development and research capacity of the municipal Maternal and Child Health Institutions (MCH)in Sichuan Province were compared with the same indices of the national municipal MCH. we have noticed that the gap relating to the research capacity is significantly greater than the gap relating to the major development indices between Sichuan municipal MCH and the national municipal MCH. The result demonstrates the importance and necessity of strengthening the core subject construction in municipal MCH in Sichuan Province . Furthermore, it provides the ideas and methods of carrying out the core subject as references.
