ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to identify the research trends of articles published in the Journal of Korean Clinical Nursing Research from 2000 to 2017 by a text network analysis using keywords. METHODS: This study analyzed 600 articles. The R program was used for text mining that extracted frequency, centrality rank, and keyword network. RESULTS: From 2000 to 2009, keywords with high-frequency were ‘nurse’, ‘pain’, ‘anxiety’, ‘knowledge’, ‘attitude’, and so on. ‘Pain’, ‘nurse’, and ‘knowledge’ showed a high centrality. ‘Fatigue’ showed no high frequency but a high centrality. Keywords such as ‘nurse’, ‘knowledge’, and ‘pain’ also showed high frequency and centrality between 2010 and 2017. ‘Hemodialysis’ and ‘intensive care unit’ were added to keywords with high frequency and centrality during the period. CONCLUSION: The frequency and centrality of keywords such as ‘nurse’, ‘pain’, ‘knowledge’, ‘hemodialysis’, and ‘intensive care unit’ reflect the research trends in clinical nursing between 2000 and 2017. Further studies need to expand the keyword networks by connecting the main keywords.

ABSTRACT

Escape from anti-tumor immunity is critical for tumor survival and progression.Tumor cells can suppress the anti-tumor im-mune response via recruitment of various immune cell populations or expression of inhibitory molecular factors.Esophageal cancer is a deadly disease, ranking the sixth among all cancers in mortality.Despite advances in diagnosis and therapy, esophageal cancer still has a poor prognosis.Investigation of the immune escape mechanism can provide new insights for the treatment of esophageal can-cer.This article provides an overview of the mechanism of tumor immune escape as well as research progress in esophageal cancer.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the association between grade 3 hand-foot syndrome(HFS)in colorectal cancer(CRC)patients treated with capecitabine and variation of cytidine deaminase(CDA)genes. Methods:The polymorphisms of the key gene CDA in-volved in capecitabine metabolism were genotyped and 149 CRC patients were included in this study. The association between these polymorphisms and susceptibility to HFS were analyzed.Additionally, peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)of 91 CRC patients were collected for mRNA expression analysis, and the levels of mRNA expression according to different CDA genotypes were com-pared.Results:The prevalence of the polymorphism-451G>A,which is located in the promoter region of CDA,were correlated with HFS. The results were as follows: GG genotype, 109 cases (73.15%); GA genotype, 38 cases (25.50%); and AA genotype, 2 cases (1.36%).The minor allele frequency of-451G>A was 0.14.The distribution of the three genotypes were in accordance with Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium(P=0.516).Logistic analysis indicated that GA/AA genotypes were associated with grade 3 HFS(odds ratio=2.53, P=0.011).Additionally,another insert polymorphism-33delC located in the promoter region of CDA was in linkage disequilibrium with-451G>A (D'=0.92). Of the 91 PBMC mRNA expression analyses, the GA/AA genotype of-451G>A was associated with higher CDA mRNA expression compared with GG genotypes(4.01±0.53 vs.3.13±0.61,P<0.001).Conclusions:The polymorphism-451G>A of CDA may influence occurance of grade 3 HFS induced by capecitabine by influencing CDA mRNA expression.

ABSTRACT

This research team extracted keywords from 953 papers published in the Journal of Dental Hygiene Science from 2001 to 2018 for keyword and centrality analyses using the Keyword Network Analysis method. Data were analyzed using Excel 2016 and NetMiner Version 4.4.1. By conducting a deeper analysis between keywords by overall keyword and time frame, we arrived at the following conclusions. For the 17 years considered for this study, the most frequently used words in a dental science paper were “Health,”“Oral,”“Hygiene,” and “Hygienist.” The words that form the center by connecting major words in the Journal of Dental Hygiene through the upper-degree centrality words were “Health,”“Dental,”“Oral,”“Hygiene,” and “Hygienist.” The upper betweenness centrality words were “Dental,”“Health,”“Oral,”“Hygiene,” and “Student.” Analysis results of the degree centrality words per period revealed “Health” (0.227), “Dental” (0.136), and “Hygiene” (0.136) for period 1; “Health” (0.242), “Dental” (0.177), and “Hygiene” (0.113) for period 2; “Health” (0.200), “Dental” (0.176), and “Oral” (0.082) for period 3; and “Dental” (0.235), “Health” (0.206), and “Oral” (0.147) for period 4. Analysis results of the betweenness centrality words per period revealed “Oral” (0.281) and “Health” (0.199) for period 1; “Dental” (0.205) and “Health” (0.169) for period 2, with the weight then dispersing to “Hygiene” (0.112), “Hygienist” (0.054), and “Oral” (0.053); “Health” (0.258) and “Dental” (0.246) for period 3; and “Oral” (0.364), “Health” (0.353), and “Dental” (0.333) for period 4. Based on the above results, we hope that further studies will be conducted in the future with diverse study subjects.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To understand the status of the use of national essential medicines, and provides reference for further implementing the national essential medicine system and promoting the priority use of national essential medicines. METHODS:Ac-cording to the statistics analysis of the use of national essential medicines(for example the antihypertensives and oral hypoglycemic agents)in Beijing,Shanghai and Guangzhou areas, the related influential factors about priority use of national essential medicines were explored. RESULTS:The proportions of use amount of national essential medicines in our hospital in 2012-2013 to the total amount of medicines were 21.20% and 18.75%,respectively,with a downtrend;the proportion of antihypertension drugs to total amount was only 14.05%and 13.70%,respectively;compared with the same generic drugs with individual pricing, the GMP prod-ucts of Valsartan capsule,Bisoprilol tablet and Amlodipine tablet had no advantages in DDDs,or even lower. DDDs of individual pricing drugs of Acarbose tablet in medical institutions in Beijing area and tertiary hospitals in Shanghai and Guangzhou area in 2011-2012 were much higher than the generic GMP products with the same generic drugs. CONCLUSIONS:The clinical use of na-tional essential medicines in our hospital and parts of the country still remains to be further improved, the influential factors includ-ed reimbursement mechanism, awareness rate of related knowledge, physicians’habit to drug use and pursuing economic benefits. ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To provide a reference for reducing adverse events due to off-label use of drugs and promoting ratio-nal use of intravenous drugs in Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine. METHODS:The pre-scriptions of intravenous drugs in 42 wards of our hospital from Jul. 2013 to Jun. 2014 were reviewed, and then off-label use of drugs were analyzed, where statistics was made mainly to drug overdose, the use of drugs at the concentration beyond the standards (including concentrations too high and too low) and associated conditions. RESULTS:There were 622 irrational prescriptions,in-cluding 60 concerning off-label use of drugs, accounting for 9.6% of irrational prescriptions,in which 40 were involved with the concentration which was too high, accounting for the highest percentage(66.7% of prescriptions related to off-label use of drugs), 17 were related to drug overdose(28.3% thereof),and 3 were in relation to the concentration which was too low(5.0% thereof). CONCLUSIONS:Pharmacy intravenous admixture service may, through the communication between the pharmacist and the doc-tor,refuse to make up the above-mentioned prescription which was found to be irrational(including that involving in off-label use of drugs)or make up such prescription after it is modified according to the requirements as specified in the label to reduce the occur-rence of off-label use of drugs so as to promote rational drug use.
