ABSTRACT

Progressive cribriform and zosteriform hyperpigmentation (PCZH) is a distinctive pigmentary disorder observed along the lines of Blaschko. Clinically, the lesions appear as uniformly tan, cribriform macular hyperpigmentation with a zosteriform distribution, without a history of rash, injury, inflammation, or other associated cutaneous or internal abnormalities. Histopathological specimens show increased melanin pigmentation in the basal cell layer with a complete absence of nevus cells. We report 8 cases of PCZH and review the literature on this peculiar disorder.

ABSTRACT

Linear lesions of discoid lupus erythemaosus (DLE), subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus or tumid lupus erythematosus, following the lines of Blaschko, are called linear cutaneous lupus erythematosus (LCLE). Lesions of LCLE appear as linear unilateral erythematous plaques predominantly on the face. Neck, trunk or the extremities may also be affected. Histological findings show hyperkeratosis with follicular plugging, epidermal atrophy, hydropic degeneration and dense perivascular infiltration of the inflammatory cells, including lymphocytes and histiocytes. To our knowledge, four cases of linear lupus erythematosus have been reported in Korean literature. We report three patients diagnosed with LCLE.

ABSTRACT

Linear lichen planus (LLP) is a rare variant found in only 0.24~0.62% of all lichen planus patients. It is mostly located on the extremities and found more often in children than adults. It has been reported that LLP lesions usually occur in solitary strips, but they occasionally occur on different segments of skin or in multiple lines, which are zosteriform in distribution or follow the lines of Blaschko. LLP following Blaschko's line is extremely rare and, in most cases, the linear streaks are solitary. We present a case of multiple linear lichen planus along the lines of Blaschko in a 15-year-old female.

ABSTRACT

"Linear cutaneous lupus erythematosus(LCLE)" is linear lesion of discoid lupus erythematosus(DLE). Eleven cases LCLE were reported in the English literature including 6 Korean children. We describe an 11-year-old girl with slightly erythematous, well-defined atrophic patches arranged in a linear configuration on the left cheek. Histologic findings were consistent with DLE though the direct immunofluorescent test was negative. Moderate improvement of the lesion was observed with use of sunscreen and topical steroid for 5 months.
