ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of qi-based acupuncture treatment in treating chronic gastritis due to liver-stomach disharmony. Methods Totally 120 patients with chronic gastritis due to liver-stomach disharmony were randomized into group A, group B, and group C, 40 in each group. Group A was intervened by qi-based acupuncture treatment; group B was by medication;group C was by sham acupuncture by selecting points 1 cm away from the points selected in group A. The therapeutic efficacies were evaluated after 4-week treatment. Results The total effective rate was 95.0%in group A, versus 75.0%in group B and 45.0% in group C, and the total effective rates in group A and B were significantly different from that in group C (P<0.01, P<0.05). The total effective rate in group A was significantly different from that in group B (P<0.05). Conclusions Qi-based acupuncture treatment is an effective approach in treating chronic gastritis due to liver-stomach disharmony.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in treating functional dyspepsia due to liver stomach disharmony and its action mechanism.MethodSixty-eight patients were divided into an acupuncture group and a Western medication group by using the random number table, 34 cases in each group. The acupuncture group was intervened by acupuncture [majorly selecting Neiguan (PC6), Qimen (LR14), Zhongwan (CV12), Tianshu (ST25), Zusanli (ST36), Taichong (LR3), and Xingjian (LR2)], while the Western medication group was by using Domperidone tablets, both for 2 weeks. The syndrome score of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), serum ghrelin content and clinical efficacy were observed before and after treatment for comparison and analysis.ResultThe total effective rate was 91.2% in the acupuncture group, significantly different from that in the Western medication group (P<0.05); after treatment, the TCM syndrome scores decreased significantly (P<0.05) and serum ghrelin contents increased significantly (P<0.05) in both groups; while the improvements were more significant in the acupuncture group (P<0.05).ConclusionAcupuncture is effective in treating functional dyspepsia due to liver stomach disharmony, and its action mechanism is possibly related to the increase of serum ghrelin.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the clinical effect of Jiawei Zuojin Pills combined with western medicine on reflux esophagitis with liver-stomach disharmony syndrome. Methods Totally 90 cases were divided into observation group (45 cases) and control group (45 cases). The control group was given rabeprazole sodium enteric-coated capsule and domperidone tablets, and the observation group was given Jiawei Zuojin Pills additionally for four weeks. The clinical effect, TCM syndrome score and endoscopic improvement were observed. Results The total effective rate of observation group was 95.5%(43/45), control group was 93.3%(42/45), with no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). The excellent rate of observation group was 77.8% (35/45), control group was 57.8% (26/45), with significant difference (P<0.05). TCM syndrome score was improved in both groups (P<0.001), and the degree of improvement in the observation group was better than control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate rate under endoscopic of observation group and control group was 96.5% (43/45) and 77.8% (35/45) respectively, with significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion Jiawei Zuojin Pills combined with western medicine has obvious efficacy in treating reflux esophagitis with liver-stomach disharmony syndrome.
