O objetivo da pesquisa foi à realização de uma inicial descrição histórica da atuação científica do professor Luiz Marcellino de Oliveira, a partir de documentos de seu arquivo pessoal, no período em que atuou na Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de Ribeirão Preto, da Universidade de São Paulo, isto exigiu a organização, higienização, classificação e descrição dessa documentação. A documentação presente em seu arquivo apontou sua atuação em áreas e instituições nas quais foi pioneiro e teve grande contribuição, como é o caso da formação da Sociedade Brasileira de Psicologia; a instituição do Bacharelado Especial em Pesquisa na USP; a utilização do Sistema Personalizado de Ensino e suas contribuições no ensino e pesquisa da Análise do Comportamento. Assim, é possível dizer que sua atuação teve alcance local em Ribeirão Preto, e importância nacional por também ter contribuído para a formação de diversos profissionais que atuam hoje por todo o país.(AU)

The objective of this research was the initial historical description of the scientific work of Professor Luiz Marcellino de Oliveira, from his personal archive documents, in the period in which he worked at the Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo, as well as the organization, cleaning, classification and description of such documents. This documentation pointed his performance in areas and institutions in which he was a pioneer and had great contribution, as is the case of the foundation of the Sociedade Brasileira de Psicologia; the creation of the Bacharelado Especial em Pesquisa at USP; the use of Personalized Learning System and his contributions in teaching and research of Behavior Analysis. It is possible to say that his performance had local significance in Ribeirão Preto, and national importance for having also contributed to the education of many professionals working today around the country.(AU)

The pioneer contribution of Luiz Marcellino de Oliveira to experimental analysis of behavior and psychobiological investigation in Brazil

Luiz Marcellino de Oliveira (1939-2008) had an influential participation in almost every moment of the history of the Department of Psychology and Education, FFCLRP, as well as at different moments of the history of the Brazilian Psychology. This paper examines issues related to his pioneer work as a teacher of experimental analysis of behavior and as a psychobiological investigator in Brazil. Emphasis is given to his dedication to the development of science and to the consolidation of a scientific approach to Psychology in Brazil at the level of teaching and of experimental investigation. He contributed with investigations on the effects of drugs and malnourishment on behavior and brain development, conducting experimental analysis of behavior and neurochemical and electrophysiological analysis of the nervous system of the malnourished organism, as well as putting emphasis on environmental stimulation as a valuable intervention. Both as a teacher and as a researcher he exerted a prime influence on numerous professionals and members of the academic community that during more than forty years had the privilege of benefiting from his friendship and knowledge.
