ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT Introduction: to determine the frequency of fenestration and dehiscence bone defects present in maxillary teeth with apical periodontitis, mainly in teeth with endodontic treatment, as they are frequently cause of nonspecific symptoms after treatment. Methods: 1201 Maxillary Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) exams were analyzed and 803 teeth with apical periodontitis were selected. Results: of the teeth with apical periodontitis, 142 had a fenestration defect (18%) of which 105 teeth (74%) were endodontically treated. The highest frequency was observed in premolars, with no statistical differences between groups. Dehiscence defect was found in 139 teeth (17%) out of which 90 (65%) were endodontically treated. The highest frequency was observed in molars, with statistical differences in relation to other tooth types (p< 0.001). Conclusion: an important number of teeth with apical periodontitis present dehiscence or fenestration bone defects, especially in teeth with root canal treatment.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the clinical value of Time self -locking brackets in relieving the changes of dental arch and tooth morphology after maxillary dentition crowding .Methods From January 2015 to December 2015,80 patients with maxillary dentition in Rizhao Central Hospital were randomly divided into two groups according to the random number method ,with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with traditional MBT straight wire brackets (3M Company). The observation group was treated with Time self -locking brackets. And the width of the two groups was compared before and after the intervention. The treatment time and the incidence of complications during the treatment were observed in the two groups. Results After intervention, the width of canine and the length of long, middle bow in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group ( t=7.901, 29.820,15.652,all P<0.05).The treatment time of the observation group was significantly shorter than that of the control group (t=41.716,P=0.000<0.05).The incidence rate of bleeding ,swelling and loosening in the observa-tion group was significantly lower than that in the control group (χ2=5.212,P<0.05).The bracket shedding rate in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group ( χ2=5.600,P<0.05).Conclusion Time self-locking brackets is effective in the treatment of maxillary dentition crowding. The method has the advantages of high effect, simple clinical treatment ,less complication and low shedding rate during treatment.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare the curative effect of orthodontic traction treatment for different age patients with maxillary embedded maxillary teeth ,and to analysis of the effect of age on orthodontic traction treatment success rate .Methods 135 cases of maxillary embedded maxillary teeth patients were selected as the observation objects ,and were divided into adult group (60 cases) and teenagers group(75 cases) according to age .The patients of the two group did orthodontic traction treatment ,then we compare the curative effect of two groups .Results The treatment time of the adult group was (12 .1 ± 3 .2)months ,which was longer than that of the teenagers group was (8 .3 ± 2 .6)months ,the comparative difference was statistically significant (t=7 .61 ,P<0 .05) .The treatment total effective rate of the adult group was 83 .33% ,wich was less than that of the teenagers group was 98 .67% ,the com-parative difference was statistically significant (χ2 =10 .47 ,P<0 .05) .Before treatment ,all of the patients ,the maxillary embedded maxillary teeth did not appear to its normal position ,clearance is not enough ,and alveolar ridge was no absorption .After treatment , the maxillary embedded maxillary teeth of patients with effective treatment eruption was in place ,the tooth length axis was normal , no obvious root absorption ,and periapical tissue was normal ,but the adults group patients had different level of gums shrink and bad morphology .The maxillary embedded maxillary teeth of the patients with Ineffective treatment did not reach the designated po-sition ,and root dentin dysplasia .Conclusion the orthodontic traction treatment for maxillary embedded maxillary teeth patients ,the treatment effect of the adult was less than the teenagers ,and the treatment time was longer than the teenagers .So the early detec-tion ,early treatment for maxillary embedded maxillary teeth treatment has great significance .
