ABSTRACT

In order to improve the professional level and service ability of general practitioners, this study is guided by the needs of community medical institutions in the county medical communities. Two small-class training of 15 modules were carried out for a week, taking "2+5" training mode, including 2 days of theoretical teaching and case discussion, and 5 days of bedside teaching. After the training, the theoretical examination, case report and objective clinical structured examination were carried out. Those who passed the examination were issued a certificate of qualification and given corresponding rewards. The results showed that the post-test scores of trainees after training were significantly improved compared with the pre-test scores, and the qualification rate increased from 18.4% to 85.9%. This training mode can be promoted in a wider range, but it should be adjusted appropriately according to the actual situation in various places, and the relevant departments and hospitals should give full support.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the application of scenario simulation teaching combined with modular training in nursing education of medical rescue in manned space flight. Methods:Twenty nurses from the medical rescue team of Strategic Support Force Characteristic Medical Center were selected as the research objects. The research objects were randomly divided into the scenario simulation combined with practical training group (practical training group, n=10) and traditional teaching group (control group, n=10). Scenario simulation teaching combined with modular training and traditional teaching were used to carry out nursing training. After the training, theoretical assessment, operation assessment and satisfaction survey were organized. Results:The scenario simulation teaching combined with modular training group was significantly better than the traditional training group in theory assessment, operation assessment and satisfaction survey of nursing staff (all P<0.05). Conclusions:Scenario simulation teaching combined with modular training has obvious teaching effect, which can improve the ability and quality of nursing staff, and help to complete the manned space medical rescue mission efficiently.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) was launched by Indian Government with key feature of introduction of a new designated health care worker – “Accredited Social Health Activist” (ASHA) who acts as interface between community and public health system. Objectives: To assess knowledge about MCH related functions and to estimate status of support to beneficiaries by “ASHAs”, To Assess Quality of Home Based New Borne Care performed by ASHA and to find out impact of number of modular training rounds on knowledge and practices of ASHAs. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted during February 2019 to December 2020 using a mixed approach, with a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods after approval of institutional Ethics committee. All Urban Health Centres (UHC) under Municipal Corporation in Ahmedabad were covered. From each UHC, 2 ASHAs were selected by lottery method. So, total 144 ASHAs were selected from 72 UHCs. Performance assessment was done by direct interview with ASHA and their beneficiaries. Results: All 144 ASHAs were aware about responsibilities of Antenatal-women registration and Immunization. Nearly all ASHAs (99.3%) knew about task of PNC registration. Escorting to delivery and tertiary care centre, if complications arise was facilitated by 61.8% and 29.2% ASHAs respectively. Conclusion: All ASHAs were aware of their major responsibilities related to MCH and also providing same in their field area. Statistically significant association was observed between number of rounds for modular training undertaken by ASHAs and knowledge and practice of ASHAs in context to various components of MCH care.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore how to carry out endoscopic skill training in undergraduate medical education and evaluate the teaching effect of modular skill training using endoscopic simulator. Methods:After completing the basic teaching content of the surgical practice course, we added the learning course of the basic theory and basic operation of endoscopy to the students of Clinical Medicine Department from Nantong University. In the experimental group, 292 students were trained by the modular training using the endoscopic simulator. The control group consisted of 114 students, who were treated with ordinary video teaching and instrument operation exercises. After the same class hours of training, the two groups of students were evaluated with intermittent suture and knotting under endoscope as the skill assessment criteria. The chi-square test was performed using SPSS 19.0.Results:The excellent rate and qualified rate of the medical students after the modular training of the endoscopic simulator were 7.5% and 42.8% respectively, which were significantly higher than 0% and 11.4% of the control group, while the unqualified rate of the experimental group was 49.7%, which was also lower than 88.6% of the control group, with significant differences ( P<0.01). Conclusion:Modular training using endoscopic simulator helps the medical undergraduates to quickly increase the ability of endoscopic operation. And in the stage of undergraduate, medical education implementation of the training can shorten the learning curve of endoscopic skills for medical students after they enter clinical practice.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: National Tobacco Control Programme was launched in India in year 2007‑08. It was realized that community health workers can play an important role of agents for positive change to bring down the tobacco morbidity and mortality in the country. Keeping this in view, a health worker guide was developed by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (GOI) in collaboration with The Union South‑East Asia (The Union) in the year 2010. The guide provides the information needed by the most basic level of health workers to effectively address the problem of tobacco use in the community. A modular training was conducted in two jurisdictions in India (namely, Chandigarh and Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh)) to assess the usefulness of the guide as training material for community health workers in undertaking tobacco control activities at community and village levels. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 271 participants were trained, which included 133 from Chandigarh and 138 from Hamirpur. The pre and post‑training assessment of knowledge of health worker was done. RESULTS: There was marked increase in post‑test scores as compared to the pretest scores. The health workers scoring more than 60% increased from 40% in the pretest to over 80% in the post‑test. Only three workers had a post‑test score of less than 30% against 54 workers in the pretest. CONCLUSION: The understanding on tobacco control had increased significantly after the training in each group. It is strongly recommended that such training should be replicated to all community health workers across all the states in India.
