ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the clinical effect of moist dressing combined with high energy narrow band phototherapy on chronic dermal ulcer. Methods Sixty cases with dermal chronic ulcer were randomly divided into two groups equally. The experimental group was treated by moist dressing combined with high energy narrow band phototherapy, while the control group was treated by moist dressing. The areas of wound surface were compared after treating for 14 and 21 days.Result Twenty-one days after treatment, the areas of wound surface were significantly reduced in the experimental group than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Moist dressing combined with high energy narrow band phototherapy can eradicate necrotic tissue, adjust micro-environment,and promote granulation and healing in chronic dermal ulcer.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo explore the therapeutic efficacy of artificial dermal in repairing depth of burn wounds.MethodsTwenty-two cases of patients with depth bum who were admitted to our hospital during August of 2008 to August of 2010 were enrolled in this trial for retrospective study. The style of management was evaluated in these patients.Burn wound depth and severity was assessed immediately after patients admission, wound treatment was performed after patients with stable vital signs and wound edema peak period vanished.Artificial dermal was grafted onto the wound tissue after the primary debridement. Then, transplantation of artificial dermal was performed, with moist dressingonto it.After two weeks, the razor thick autoskin was grafted onto the surface of the artificial dermal after the removing of its silicon membrane during the secondary operation.ResultsThe wound healed completely with the survival of skin grafting and satisfactory appearance in all 22 patients. Furthermore, the scar in the donor site exhibited unconspicuous. Conclusion It's an optimal choice to repair deep burn with artificial dermal and thick autoskin.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine whether keeping the wound moist improves the results of composite grafting of amputated fingertip. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Between 1997 and 2010, 93 patients with traumatic amputation of 100 digits have undergone composite finger tip graft. The hand was kept elevated and a topical antibiotics was frequently applied to avoid desiccation. Their ages ranged from 10 months to 73 years. We assessed the success rate based on age, amputation level, ischemic time and etiology. RESULTS: Of these 100 composite grafts, grafting had been successful in 65. Evaluation by age revealed that grafting had been successful in 13 of 18 fingers among patients less than 6 years old, in four of five fingers among those 6 to 15 years old and in 48 of 77 fingers among those 16 years of age and older. Assessment by level of amputation showed that grafting had been successful in 37 of 56 fingers amputated in zone I, in 12 of 19 fingers amputated in zone II and in 16 of 25 fingers amputated in zone III. No statistically significant differences in graft survival were found in relation to age, amputation level, ischemic time or type of amputation. CONCLUSION: Our results demonstrate that composite finger tip graft in adult is feasible and a very high rate of survival is obtained. We believe that moist-exposed dressings should improve the success rate associated with fingertip composite grafting.
