ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To study the optimal monitoring indexes of plasma concentration of cyclosporine A(CsA) in patients receiving hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.METHODS:The lowest CsA concentration(C0) and the highest CsA concentration(C2) in 23 hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients were detected by FPIA.All the data were analyzed statistically.RESULTS:Within 6 months after hematopoietic stem cell transplanttion,C0,C2,C0+C2 and C2/C0 in the recipients were(228.84?142.48) ?g?L-1,(741.50?294.42) ?g?L-1,(970.34?391.18) ?g?L-1 and(3.88?1.94) ?g?L-1,respectively.CONCLUSION:As reasonable monitoring indexes for the plasma concentration of CsA,C0+C2 and C2/C0 can comprehensively reflect the exposure of drug in body and monitor the toxicity of CsA in liver and kidney.

ABSTRACT

Objectives:To observe the efficacy of enteral nutrition with short peptide elemental diet(Pepti 2000) in patients with gastrointestinal fistulas and evaluate the sensitivity of nutrition associated index in nutrition monitoring. Methods:Ten cases with gastrointestinal fistulas were administered total enteral nutrition(TEN).They received 146 kJ/(kg?d) of non protein calorie(NPC) and 0.25 g/(kg?d) of nitrogen per day. Body weight, serum albumin, transferrin(TFN), prealbumin(PA),fibronectin(FN),triglyceride and cholesterol were monitored on before and 7th and 28th after TEN. Results:Seven days after TEN,serum PA and FN levels rised significantly( P

ABSTRACT

To investigate the effect of hyperoxia on EKG findings and to evaluate the applicability of EKG as noninvasive monitoring index of oxygen toxicity, 38 rabbits were continuously exposed to 6 different conditions-3 hyperbaric oxygenations (HBO-2.5, 3.5 and 5ATA, 100% O2), normobaric oxygenation (NBO, 100% O2), hyperbaric aeration (HBA-5ATA, 21% O2) and normobaric aeration (NBA, 21% O2)-for 120 minutes and their EKG and time to dyspnea and convulsion were recorded. Dyspnea and death were observed in exposure conditions of HBO-3.5 and HBO-5 (Positive rate of dyspnea; 10%, 100%, death; 10%, 25%, respectively) only, and convulsion in 4 oxygenation groups (NBO; 20%, HBO-2.5; 20%, HBO-3.5; 20%, HBO-5; 88%). Abnormal EKG findings included arrhythmia and ST-T changes and the incidences was increasing with doses(partial pressure of oxygen). In addition to EKG change, findings observed during exosure were dyspnea and convulsion in the order of appearence and when non specific ST-T change was accepted as positive (abnormal) finding, the frequency of abnormal EKG was statistically significant(p0.05). These results suggest that the effect of hyperoxia on heart is myocardial ischemia and arrhythmia, that oxygenation more than 3.5ATA causes myocardial damage in 120 minutes exposure, and that EKG is valuable as monitoring index of oxygen toxicity.
