ABSTRACT

The view of life in Huang Di Nei Jing discusses the essence of human life by exploring the origin, structure and existence of human life, elucidates the overall quality of human life by observing the state and length of human life, and summarizes the characteristics of human life by analyzing the commonalities and unique characteristics of human life with other lives. On the one hand, this life view respects the objectivity and regularity of life, and enabling people to calmly face death but actively seeking higher possibilities of life, which reflects the reasonable self-awareness of ancient doctors towards human life. On the other hand, it affirms the intrinsic value of life, advocates meeting the subjective value of life and pursuing the external value of life, and expresses the self-pursuit of exploring the existence value of human life, which makes the life view in Huang Di Nei Jing quite humanistic. This humanistic life view has important reference significance for modern medical practice. Reasonable absorbing the humanistic spirit of the life view in Huang Di Nei Jing is conducive to the return of modern medicine to the medical essence of saving the dying and healing the wounded, as well as the establishment of the medical value of people-oriented.

ABSTRACT

@#Corneal disease is a common disease that causes blindness, and keratoplasty is the main method for the treatment of corneal blindness. Visual function examination alone cannot fully evaluate the impact of surgery on patients, while the vision-related quality of life scale covers all aspects of visual indicators, which can more comprehensively reflect the feelings of patients. In recent years, it has gradually become a common method to evaluate the therapeutic effect of keratoplasty. This paper briefly reviews the research progress of NEI-VFQ-25 scale in corneal transplantation in recent years.

ABSTRACT

In Siddha system of medicine, diseases are classified into 4448 types. According to Yugi Vaithiya Chinthaamani, a siddha classical text Meganoi is classified into 20 types based on three humors Vatha, Pitha, Kabha. Madhumegam is one among them, which comes under Pitha type called Thithippu Neer. The causes, signs and symptoms of Madhumegam could be correlated with Diabetes Mellitus in modern system. Mathumegam is a clinical condition characterized by frequent and excessive passage of urine with ‘sweetness’ eventually leading to deterioration of seven body constituents. Its deterioration causes Avathaigal which are described as complications of long term poorly controlled hyperglycemia. Diabetes mellitus is one of the major health problems in most developing countries. Being a lifestyle disorder its management is still a challenge for modern system of medicine. Increase in the number of diabetic patients, high cost for medical treatments, unsatisfactory treatment response are the major reasons for people to switch over to traditional medicinal systems. At current scenario, Siddha system among Indian systems of medicine is gaining more attention globally and it serves as a hope in controlling this dreadful disease and preventing its high risk complications. Siddha drugs include herbal, mineral and herbo-mineral drugs. Among which pure herbal medicines serve the purpose in the management of chronic diseases like Madhumegam for long term use. This review article focuses on one such polyherbal Siddha formulation ‘Pereechangai nei’ as mentioned in text Therayar Maha Karisal, specifically indicated for Madhumegam.

ABSTRACT

Mantha Sanni (Autism) is a Mukkuttra disease that is imbalance of all the three main fundamental principles of Vatham, Pitham and Kabam. Mantha Sanni is a neuro developmental disorder typically appearing in the first one and half years of life and characterised by impaired social and communication skills.. In the all over the world, the surveillance study identified 1 in 68 children suffering with ASD. In India, the prevalence ratio is 1:46. It is about 4.5 times more common among boys (1:48) than among girls (1:189). The higher prevalence rate was observed in the rural area. Socioeconomic status may be one of the fundamental indicators for ASD in India. Autism spectrum disorder is the world most common disorder in Children. In this study, I have to present 3 case reports of ASD children based on the assessment scale. The main course of treatment are Brami Nei as internal and Varmam as External therapy in the recommended dose as per Siddha pharmacopeia for 3 months. After 3 months, ASD children improve the cognitive skills and eye to eye contact Hyperactivity reduced well. Most of the formulation acting on psyche is ghee based. It is well established that the drugs to have its action on brain should have the capacity to cross the blood brain barrier and for the purpose ghee based Brahmi Nei is recommended for ASD in children. Manipulative therapy like Varma is to enhance the mind calming activity with sound sleep, good eye to eye contact and to reduce anxiety, hyperactivity. All the ingredients in both Internal medicines are herbal. So my attorney has to conclude the Siddha management therapy might be good and safest. It will be definitely efficacy in treating ASD children. Hence, Brami Nei as internal Varmam as External therapy may have a role to curing the ASD children.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Treatment of congenital melanocytic nevi (CMN) with intense pulsed light (IPL) has recently produced promising results. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the clinical and histological outcomes of small-to-medium sized CMN treated with IPL alone and in combination with erbium: yttrium-aluminum-garnet (Er: YAG) laser. METHODS: We performed a retrospective chart review of 26 small-to-medium sized CMN treated as described above. The reduction in visible pigmentation, signs of recurrence and any adverse skin changes were evaluated by two independent clinicians. RESULTS: Seventeen patients completed treatment and were followed-up. Nine were not able to complete treatment due to work, change in residence, and treatment related stress. Ten patients received IPL alone (mean: 10.5 sessions) and 7 underwent treatment with IPL (mean: 7.7 sessions) and Er: YAG/IPL combination therapy (mean: 4.7 sessions). The initial treatment outcome was cleared in 5 patients and excellent in 12. Fourteen patients (82.4%) showed CMN recurrence one year after treatment completion. The histological results from a patient with an excellent clinical outcome showed remnant nevus cells nests in the deep dermis. CONCLUSION: IPL treatment alone and in combination with Er: YAG laser are not definitive treatments for CMN and should not be considered as first-line treatment.

ABSTRACT

This article summarized the characteristics and rules of acupoints grouping recorded in Huang Di Nei Jing (Yellow Emperor’s Canon of Internal Medicine), holding that it had passed important concept of acupoints grouping, formed the embryonic form, and brought up basic grouping types including distant and proximal grouping, and interior-exterior grouping, despite the small number of involved acupoints. Besides, it also paid much attention to other factors that may influence the therapeutic efficacy of acupoints grouping. Therefore, Huang Di Nei Jing has played a crucial role in guiding the development of acupoints grouping theories.
