ABSTRACT

RESUMEN: En este artículo se da a conocer un estudio realizado mediante la indagación narrativa autobiográfica haciendo uso de la tridimensionalidad de la indagación narrativa: temporalidad, sociabilidad y lugar. Se explora acerca de los desafíos que implica formarse como docente universitario inclusivo, basándose en las historias de Eddy, un profesor universitario hondureño. A través de la lectura del texto, revisiones, conversaciones y reflexiones, los autores pudieron reescribir las narrativas de Eddy. En dicho intercambio emergen y se profundiza en cuatro historias siendo estas: a) encuentro con la discapacidad, b) involucrarse en la lucha por generar un contexto inclusivo, c) formarse como docente inclusivo y d) sus posibles retos en un entorno desigual.


ABSTRACT: In this article, it is disseminated a study conducted through an autobiographical narrative inquiry, using the three-dimensionality of narrative inquiry: temporality, sociability and local. The challenges that imply the training of the inclusive university professor are explored, based on Eddy's stories, a Honduran university professor. Through reading the text, revisions, conversations and reflections, the authors were able to rewrite Eddy's narratives. In this exchange, four stories emerged and were deepened, namely: a) encountering with the disability; b) getting involved in the struggle to generate an inclusive context; c) training as an inclusive professor; and d) his possible challenges in an unequal environment.

ABSTRACT

Próteses totais imediatas e overdentures mandibulares em carga imediata, são boas alternativas para restaurar a função e a estética. Além disso, proporcionam um fator psicológico positivo, eliminando as consequências emocionais e sociais da perda dos dentes. O objetivo deste estudo foi relatar um caso clínico, com cinco anos de acompanhamento, utilizando parâmetros clínicos e ferramentas qualitativas, para analisar o impacto na qualidade de vida do paciente e no sucesso do tratamento. Este caso clínico foi desenvolvido em um projeto assistencial da Faculdade de Odontologia da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Brasil, que promove a reabilitação oral de pacientes de baixa renda com dentes severamente comprometidos. Paciente do sexo masculino, 57 anos, apresentou-se para tratamento com condição severa de saúde dental e periodontal. O plano de tratamento proposto foi a extração dos dentes remanescentes e confecção de prótese total imediata maxilar e overdenture mandibular, em carga imediata, sobre implantes. O paciente foi acompanhado periodicamente, a cada seis meses, para substituição do o´rings, conforme recomendação do fabricante. Após 5 anos, as próteses foram reembasadas com resina acrílica termopolimerizável e os componentes protéticos da overdenture foram substituídos. Em um acompanhamento qualitativo, a equipe utilizou uma entrevista narrativa, com foco nos impactos do tratamento na qualidade de vida desse paciente. Ele confirmou, em um relato em primeira pessoa, sua satisfação com o tratamento realizado e a melhora nas relações sociais, afetivas e no trabalho, mostrando como a reconquista do sorriso pode transformar a experiência pessoal do indivíduo(AU)


Immediate complete dentures and mandibular immediately loaded overdentures are good alternatives to restore function and aesthetics. Moreover, they provide positive psychological factor, eliminating the emotional and social consequences of tooth loss. The aim of this study was to report a clinical case, with five years of follow-up using clinical parameters and qualitative tools, to analyze the impact on quality of life and the success of treatment. This clinical case was developed in an assistance project of the Dental School of Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil, which promotes oral rehabilitation of low-income patients with severely damaged dentitions. A 57-yearold male patient presented for treatment with a severe dental and periodontal health condition. The proposed treatment plan was extraction of the remaining teeth and making maxillary immediate complete denture and mandibular immediately loaded implant-supported overdenture. The patient was monitored periodically, every six months, to replace the polymer ring ball attachment, according to the manufacturer's recommendation. After 5 years, the prostheses were relining with heat-polymerized acrylic resin and overdenture prosthetic components were replaced. In a qualitative follow-up, the team used a narrative interview, focusing on the impacts of treatment in the quality of life of this patient. He confirms, in a firstperson account, his satisfaction with the treatment performed and improvements in social and affective relations and in the work, showing how the reconquest of the smile can transform the personal experience of the individual(AU)

Resumo A proposta deste artigo é pensar a criação de um campo híbrido de pesquisa/experimentação na intersecção entre arte contemporânea e psicologia. Nesse sentido, exploramos o eixo arte/experiência, na intenção de produzir linhas singulares e sensíveis de subjetivação, mais afeitas ao devir e aos fluxos do que a identidades fixas. Enquanto sujeitos/pesquisadores/artistas, nossa proposta foi criar metáforas, experiências, imagens de pensamento e rasgos no que nos chega pronto, a partir da elaboração de uma figuração híbrida/plástica de corpo/subjetividade. Este foi o meio que encontramos para dar passagem para diferentes superfícies intensivas. Para tanto, valemo-nos da Metodologia de Pesquisa Baseada nas Artes e de conceitos como figuração, conexões parciais, saberes localizados (Haraway, 1995, 2013), subjetividade estética (Rolnik, 2002; Teixeira, 1993), lógica da sensação (Deleuze, 2002), entre outros.


Resumen La propuesta de este artículo es pensar la creación de un campo híbrido de investigación/experimentación en la intersección entre psicología y arte contemporáneo. En este sentido, exploramos el eje arte/experiencia, con el fin de producir líneas singulares y sensibles de subjetivación, más acostumbradas al devenir y a los flujos que a las identidades fijas. Como sujetos/investigadores/artistas, nuestra propuesta fue crear metáforas, experiencias, imágenes de pensamiento y rasgos de aquello que nos llega listo, desde la elaboración de una figuración híbrida/plástica de cuerpo/subjetividad. Este fue el medio que encontramos para dar paso a diferentes superficies intensivas. Con este fin, nos basamos en la metodología de investigación basada en las artes y conceptos tales como figuración, conexiones parciales, conocimiento situado (Haraway, 1995, 2013), subjetividad estética (Rolnik, 2002; Teixeira, 1993), lógica de la sensación (Deleuze, 2002), entre otros.


Abstract The aim of this article is to consider the creation of a hybrid research/experimentation field at the intersection of contemporary art and psychology. In this sense, we explore the art/experience axis, with the intention of producing singular and sensitive lines of subjectivation. Lines that are more akin to becoming and to the flows than to fixed identities. While individuals/researchers/artists, our proposal was to create metaphors, experiences, images of thoughts and tears in what come to us as ready-made by creating a hybrid figuration/plastic body/subjectivity. This was the way we found to make different intensive surfaces flow. To do so, we followed the Arts Based Research Methodology, and concepts such as figuration, partial connections, located knowledges (Haraway, 1995; 2013), aesthetic subjectivity (Teixeira, 1993; Rolnik, 2002), the logic of sensation (Deleuze, 2002), among others.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was to use narrative inquiry to explore the experiences of medical students who faced expulsion, military service, and readmission, and their journeys of identity formation. Three medical students were recruited via snowball sampling, and each participant was interviewed twice. According to the sequence of experiences, their stories were summarized as follows: the process of being expelled, the military service experience and readmission process, and the present. Before all three students were expelled, they lived dissolute lives free of concern from the entrance examination and failed to cope well with dropping out. They felt that military experience had helped them develop interpersonal skills in the clinical setting and the strength to withstand a difficult crisis. Two students were motivated to become doctors after military service, but the other was not. They had reflected deeply over their unique experiences. The scars imprinted from their experiences became a means of stimulation, and they ultimately acquired the resilience and ability to accommodate for and counteract their weaknesses. This appears to have been an important influence on their identity formation. The narrations of their rare experiences can help medical educators more fully understand and support medical students through difficulties, specifically with regard to academic failure or expulsion. These findings may prompt medical professors to think about the kind of guidance or motivation that could help students before expulsion, rather than assuming that they are simply lacking academic ability.

ABSTRACT

RESUMO: O uso radical da narrativa como metodologia de pesquisa em Educação nos leva à produção deste artigo, com intenção de apresentar a emergência do conceito de escrita-evento nesse contexto metodológico, no qual os conhecimentos produzidos acerca da formação são sustentados pela prática narrativa em todo o âmbito da pesquisa. Isso se deve à posição não neutra e não indiferente dos pesquisadores com seus pesquisados, à compreensão da importância do contexto social e à valorização do acontecimento experienciado, sempre formativos para todos os participantes da pesquisa. As relações humanas promovem um horizonte de possibilidades para a emergência da escrita-evento na materialização da linguagem, entendida como capacidade de modelização primária específica da espécie humana, englobando e abarcando qualquer teoria e/ou método predeterminados. Concluímos, estudando algumas pesquisas do grupo, particularmente aquela de que emerge o conceito, que a pesquisa narrativa, em sua radicalidade, potencializa a produção de conhecimentos e saberes na área educacional.


ABSTRACT: This paper aims to present the emergence of the concept of "writing-event" in the methodological context, in which the narrative practice throughout the scope of research sustains all knowledge relating to Education. This is the result of a non-neutral and non-indifferent status taken by the researchers with respect to their research objects, and it is also connected to the understanding of the importance of the social context and to the valorization of the experienced event, which is always formative for all involved in the research. Human relations create a horizon of possibilities for the writing-event emergence in the materialization of language, described as the human-specific primary modeling device and encompassing any predetermined theory and/or methodology. By analyzing some of our studies, in particular the one in which the concept of writing-event emerged, we conclude that narrative inquiry's radicality promotes knowledge creation in the field of Education.

ABSTRACT

Este artículo de revisión de tema es producto de un proceso de investigación previo a la consolidación de una tesis doctoral. Presenta la investigación narrativa como una propuesta metodológica orientada desde los fundamentos epistemológicos de la hermenéutica, con el objetivo de plantear una ruta de construcción social de conocimientos científicos que surge de las propias voces de los participantes. Primero se encuentran algunos elementos de la fundamentación epistemológica que dan cuenta de reflexiones que configuran un enfoque particular asumido frente a los procesos de construcción social de conocimientos científicos. Luego se describe de manera general la ruta metodológica que dinamiza la construcción de datos y el análisis de los mismos. Finalmente, se reflexiona acerca de los retos y los alcances de la investigación narrativa que suponen la adopción de una postura ética y política diferencial.


This reflection article presents narrative inquiry as a methodological proposal aimed from the epistemological foundations of hermeneutics, with the goal to propose a way of social construction of scientific knowledge that emerges from the voices of the participants. First there are some elements of the epistemological foundation that state for reflections that form a particular approach taken towards the processes of social construction of scientific knowledge. Then, it is generally described the methodological way that streamlines the construction of data and the analysis thereof. Finally, it is reflected on the challenges and scope of narrative research involving the adoption of an ethical and differential political stance.

ABSTRACT

En este artículo se hace una revisión analítica de los fundamentos teóricos y prácticos de la Investigación Narrativa. Para ello se inicia respondiendo al interrogante sobre qué es la investigación narrativa como fenómeno que ha venido ganando espacio en el campo de las ciencias sociales; luego se hace un repaso de los principios teóricos de la investigación narrativa, diferenciando dos posiciones epistemológicas: la posición realista, más convencional y común en los estudios cualitativos, y la posición relativista, más novedosa y que algunos consideran como distintiva de la investigación narrativa. A partir de estos supuestos básicos se profundiza en las características de la investigación narrativa, con especial atención a las particularidades propias de la posición relativista. Se finaliza con una panorámica de las posibles aplicaciones de la investigación narrativa en la Psicología, citando diversos trabajos que ilustran la aplicación de esta forma de investigación en dicho campo.


In this article we made an analytic revision of both theoretical and practical fundamentals of Narrative research; to make this possible, it starts answering the question about what Narrative research is as a phenomenon that has been gaining space in the Social Studies field. Then, a review is made of the theoretical principles of Narrative Research differentiating two epistemological positions: realistic position, which is more conventional and common in qualitative studies, and relativist position, that is newer and considered as the distinctive one of Narrative Research. From these two basic assumptions, it goes deeper into the characteristics of Narrative Research, with special attention to the particularities characteristic of the relativist position. It ends with a panorama of the possible applications of Narrative Research in Psychology, taking into account various works that illustrate the application of this research form in that field.

Este trabalho oferece contribuições metodológicas para projetos de pesquisa e formação que envolvam o uso de narrativas e processos reflexivos. Com base em um estudo sobre prática profissional, foram analisadas narrativas escritas de sessões clínicas de Terapia Ocupacional utilizando-se as categorias propostas por Hatton e Smith (1995), para evidenciar o processo de reflexão-sobre-a-ação: narração descritiva, descrição reflexiva, reflexão dialógica e reflexão crítica. Os resultados apresentados referem-se ao detalhamento da operacionalização da metodologia, sobretudo em relação à forma (estrutura gramatical) e aos conteúdos (reflexão evidenciada) de cada categoria. Neste sentido, procura-se complementar o trabalho de Hatton e Smith, oferecendo uma melhor sistematização para o uso dessas categorias.


This study offers methodological contributions for research and educational projects involving the use of narratives and reflective processes. Based on a study on professional practice, written narratives from clinical sessions within Occupational Therapy were analyzed using the categories proposed by Hatton and Smith (1995), to show the process of reflecting on actions: descriptive narration, reflective description, dialog reflection and critical reflection. The results presented in this paper relate to the details involved in putting this methodology into operation, especially regarding the format (grammatical structure) and the content (manifested reflection) of each category. In this respect, it was sought to complement the work of Hatton and Smith, through providing better systematization for using these categories.


Este trabajo ofrece contribuciones metodológicas para proyectos de investigación y formación que envuelvan el uso de narrativas y procesos reflexivos. Con base en un estudio sobre práctica profesional, han sido analizadas narrativas escritas de sesiones clínicas de Terapia Ocupacional utilizándose las categorías propuestas por Hatton e Smith (1995) para evidenciar el proceso de reflexión sobre-la-acción: narración descriptiva, descripción reflexiva, reflexión dialógica y reflexión crítica. Los resultados presentados en este trabajo tienen por objetivo detallar la ejecución de tal metodología, sobre todo en relación a la forma (estructura gramatical) y al contenido (reflexión evidenciada) de cada categoría. De este modo, se busca complementar el trabajo de Hatton e Smith y ofreciendo una mejor sistematización en el uso de las categorías.
