ABSTRACT

Objective To understand the negative emotion in primary caregivers of early diagnosed children with acute leukemia. Methods By purposive sampling, 17 cases were selected and investigated by semi-structuredinterviews. Colaizzi principles were used to analyze the data. Results Three themes were extracted:complex emotional response, too many concerns and weak support system. Conclusions The primary caregivers of children with acute leukemia at the early stage of diagnosis have negative emotions such as anxiety and fear, and suffer from psychological and economicpressures.Nurses should provide disease-related nursing skills training and personalized psychological care,and call for the establishment of the social support system and online communication platformto really meet their needs and alleviate the burden of care in order to better meet the follow-up treatment and care of children.

ABSTRACT

Objective To develop the public mood scale and test its reliability and validity,and explore the components construct of the public mood.Methods 423 college students responded to the inventory.Correlation analysis,exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were applied to the data analysis.Results Public mood scale was consisted of two dimensions,positive emotions and negative emotions.Factor analysis indicated that the two factors explain 61.3% of the variance with factor loading ranging from 0.68 to 0.86;The Cronbach' s coefficients of positive and negative public mood were 0.81 and 0.76 respectively; Conffirmatory factor analysis indicated that the public mood scale had ideal structure validity.Joint factor analysis showed that public mood and personal mood were separated.Positive public mood had positive correlations with Big Five personalities,which were extraversion,agreeableness,responsibility and openness (r =0.22-0.33,P< 0.01),negative correlation was found between neuroticism and positive public mood(r=-0.25,P<0.01).Positive public mood had significant positive correlation with government satisfaction,economic development confidence and social stability(r=0.34-0.45,P<0.01),while they had significant negative correlations with negative public mood (r =-0.32--0.24,P< 0.01).Conclusion The public mood scale obtained in the present study has ideal validities and reliabilities and it is suitable to assess the public mood.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the impact of health education on negative mood,social support and life quality of patients with breast cancer.Methods 90 patients with breast cancer receiving chemotherapy were divided into the observation group and the control group randomly,and each group with 45.The regular health education was given to the control group,and personalized health education was provided to the observation group and their related family member,the measures included mental communication,psychological counseling and life guidance.SAS,SDS,SSRS and QOL were carried out at two time points:the time when admission to hospital and 4 weeks after admission.Results Before health education,there were no statistical significance between the observation group and the control group on anxiety,depression,social support and life quality.After health education,the observation group was better than the control group in scores of anxiety,depression,social support and life quality.Conclusions The health education given simultaneously to the patients and their family members can improve their negative mood,increase their social support,and improve their life quality.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To explore the relation of highly educated professionals’ insomnia,cognitive emotion regulation strategies and negative mood.Methods: 355 staffs from different units in Beijing completed Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),the cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire(CERQ) and Profile of Mood States-Short Form(POMS-SF).Results: ①Significant positive correlations were found between insomnia and negative mood and catastrophizing,while negative correlations between insomnia and positive refocusing,refocus on planning and positive reappraisal.②Regression analysis indicated predictability of insomnia,catastrophizing,rumination and refocus on planning to negative mood.③Path analysis confirmed the positive and negative cognitive emotion regulation strategies were partial mediators between insomnia and negative mood.Conclusion: Cognitive emotion regulation strategies play important mediating role between insomnia and negative mood.
