ABSTRACT

Organized hematoma of nasal cavity has been reported previously in several articles. However, few studies reported the cause of organized hematoma. Recently, 22-years-old male who underwent coblation associated turbinoplasty one year ago visited our clinic with symptom of nasal obstruction. He was diagnosed as organized hematoma in left maxillary sinus. We performed endoscopic sinus surgery and successfully removed it. Therefore, we report a case of organized hematoma origin from maxillary sinus after coblation associated turbinoplasty.

ABSTRACT

Organized hematoma of the maxillary sinus is a rare clinical disease. We report a case of organized hematoma of the maxillary sinus presenting with acute sinusitis. This is the first article describing such a case. Included is a review of the literatures, highlighting the diagnostic signs of organized hematoma of the maxillary sinus.

ABSTRACT

An organizing hematoma with tumor-like presentation in association with a chronic subdural hematoma(CSDH) has not been reported. Most reported cases of an intracranial mass in association with a CSDH have been associated with primary or metastatic neoplasm. A 72-year-old man presenting with an intracranial contrast-enhancing mass in association with a CSDH in magnetic resonance images is reported. Operative exploration revealed the mass to be an organized hematoma adjoining cortical draining veins between the outer and inner membranes of a chronic subdural hematoma. This report adds another important differential diagnosis to various primary and metastatic neoplasms that have been reported in the literature when encountering an intracranial mass in association with a CSDH. Neurosurgeons should be aware of the possibility and, if necessary, should apply more diagnostic modalities than magnetic resonance images before deciding management plans.

ABSTRACT

Although it may occur in organized hematoma throughout the body, calcification within a chronic subdural hematoma is a rare condition. The total number of cases reported so far was not more than 110. We report a case of chronic subdural hematoma with calcification in 21 year old male who suffered from chronic headache for more than 6 months. The hematoma and calcification were surgically removed, and the patient's symptom disappeared.
