ABSTRACT

Introduction: Subdural hematoma is a rare but seriouscomplication of accidental dural puncture during epidural orspinal anesthesia. This case report emphasizes the importanceof close follow-up of patients with post dural punctureheadache following accidental dural puncture and methods toidentify development of subdural hematoma in such patients.Case report: a 23-year-old healthy primigravida developedaccidental dural puncture while trying to locate epiduralspace using a Tuohy needle for painless labor. The patientcomplained of headache on the 2nd post-operative day that wassignificantly relieved by analgesics, bed rest and hydration.Later she presented with severe headache that becamepersistent and lost its correlation with change of posture.Other than feeling nauseated she had no other additional signsand symptoms. Diagnosis of the SDH was confirmed via CTand treated surgically. The patient recovered completely. Conclusion: One should consider the possibility of subduralhematoma in patients when postdural puncture headache isprolonged or has a change in the character of headache withor without neurological symptoms for an early successfulintervention.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect of epidural anesthesia for painless labor on the birth process and newborn, and to provide a reference for the implementation of painless labor. Methods From January 2013 to January 2015 in our hospital,102 pregnant women were randomly divided into observation group and control group, 51 cases in each group. The observation group used sufentanil combined with ropivacaine for labor analgesia, and the control group received conventional natural childbirth measures for labor.Compared the two groups of maternal analge-sia effect, duration, the rate of vaginal delivery and postpartum 2 hours the amount of bleeding, and compared the two groups of fetal distress and neonatal asphyxia incidence. Results The maternal effect rate and total efficiency in the observation group were 62.75%,96.08%,which were significantly higher than those of the control group (P 0.05).Conclusion Epidural block anesthesia of painless labor can effectively relieve the pain of delivery, reduce maternal labor and the second stage of history, and has good safety of mother to child,it is worth popularization and application.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To observe the clinical effects of acupuncture for relieving pain in delivery. Methods: 240 cases of parturients were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group, 120 cases in each group. The treatment was given by puncturing Kunlun (BL 60) immediately in the incubation period of labor course in the treatment group. The control group was treated by giving intermittent oxygen inhalation. Results: Pain was relieved obviously in the treatment group, with statistical significance compared with the control group (P<0.01). Conclusion: Acupuncture at Kunlun (BL 60) can relieve delivery pain of parturients during the delivery process and is a feasible painless method for delivery.
