ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of flexible ureteroscopy combined with physical vibration lithecbole in treatment of massive upper urinary calculi. Methods The clinical data of 62 cases with massive upper urinary calculi from Feb 2016 to Mar 2017 were analyzed retrospectively. The average diameter of stones were (656.70 ± 275.40) mm2. The removal rate of stones, general conditions during the operation, the postoperative adverse reactions and renal function changes were observed. Results All 62 patients had successfully completed flexible ureteroscopy operation, and had physical vibration stone removal treatment after 1 week. The rate of stone removal was 61.29% in the next day (38/62), 85.48% (53/62) in the next 1 week and 96.77% (60/62) in the next 3 weeks. Postoperative fever occurred in 2 cases, the overall complication rate was 3.23%. 18 patients had improved renal function while 4 patients keep stable after operation. Conclusion The flexible ureteroscopy combined with physical vibration lithecbole is a safe and effective therapeutic method for massive upper urinary calculi. It has high stone removal rate, less complications, little impact on renal function. It is valuable to advocate clinically.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of physical vibration lithecbole in treatment of urinary calculi. Methods Ana-lysed the efficacy of 80 patients who underwent physical vibration lithecbole only or combination therapy with surgery in urinary calculi in our hospital from February 2014 to July 2014. Result There were 1 to 4 times calculi discharge among the 80 patients. One month after the sur-gery, the calculi discharge rate was 33. 3% and the calculi clean rate was 22. 2% in the upper ureteral; the calculi discharge rate was 16. 7%and the calculi clean rate was 50. 0% in the distal ureteral; the calculi discharge rate was 40. 0% and the calculi clean rate was 23. 3% in the upper renal calyx;the calculi discharge rate was 27. 7% and the calculi clean rate was 38. 8% in the middle renal calyx;the calculi discharge rate was 60. 0% and the calculi clean rate was 20. 0% in the lower renal calyx. One month after the surgery of physical vi-bration lithecbole combined with Holium laser lithotripsy, the calculi discharge rate was 52. 1% and the calculi clean rate was 39. 1%. Con-clusion Physical vibration lithecbole is a noninvasive treatment for urinary calculi. It has good efficacy in calculi discharge and it can relieve the pain caused by calculi.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the curative effect of external physical vibration lithecbole (EPVL) therapy after extracorporeal shock-wave lithotripsy (ESWL) in upper urinary calculi. Methods A total of 133 patients of upper urinary calculi with randomly divided into 2 groups after ESWL therapy during the period of 2012 October to 2013 February. The EPVL group (66 cases) used the physical vibration lithecbole treatment, and the natural lithecbole group (67 cases) used the method by drinking water, adding exercise and other natural lithecbole method.Of the EPVL group,6 of the stones were located in the upper or middle calyx,13 in renal pelvis,16 in lower renal calyx and 31 in ureter, the stone diameter was 10-15 mm.Of the natural lithecbole group,8 of the stones were located in the upper or middle calyx,17 in renal pelvis,15 in lower renal calyx and 27 in ureter, the stone diameter was 10-15 mm.The clinical data of the curative effect,side-effect,and complications were collected and analyzed systematically. Results In the EPVL group, the average times of lithagogue treatment was 2.6 times,51 patients (77%) expelled stones on the day of lithecbole, and the stone free rate in a week was 79% (52/66).Especially,81% (13/16) of the lower renal calyx expelled stones on the day of lithecbole, and the stone free rate in a week was 88% (14/16).Whereas,30 patients (45%) in the natural lithecbole group expelled stones on the day of ESWL,and the stone free rate in a week was 49% (33/67) ; the lower renal calyx stone expulsion rate on the day of ESWL was 33% (5/15),and the stone free rate in a week was 40% (6/15).The curative effects were significantly different between the 2 groups (P< 0.05).There were no serious complications in both groups. Conclusions EPVL machine can significantly promote the stone expulsion after ESWL.Compared with traditional methods,EPVL therapy has a better curative effect, especially on lower renal calyx stones.EPVL is a safe and noninvasive treatment.
