ABSTRACT
Describir y analizar los factores psicológicos y sociales que influyen en la elaboración del trabajo de grado de los cursantes de la especialización en Obstetricia y Ginecología (2001-2006). Estudio evaluativo de la elaboración, entrega y defensa del trabajo especial de grado. Se aplicó cuestionario a coordinadores, docentes y cursantes de la especialidad. Se hizo una observación documental cuantitativa y cualitativa de los índices de productividad y características del conocimiento obtenido en los trabajos de investigación presentados, revisión de documentos, normas y reglamentos de postgrado. Facultad de Medicina, Universidad Central de Venezuela. El grupo de cursantes tuvo el mayor cumplimiento en sus trabajos de grado, en comparación con todos los postgrados. Se destacaron por la actitud de cumplir con las normas de la Universidad, incluir la metodología en sus seminarios de manera directa o indirecta, motivados a entregar a tiempo su anteproyecto y proyecto, divulgación científica a través de publicaciones y congresos de la especialidad, y su incorporación a la sociedad científica. La entrega del trabajo de grado se cumplió en un 85,14 por ciento. En lapso 2000-2006 se registró un egreso de 314 especialistas. Hay factores psicológicos y sociales que influyen en el alto rendimiento y es necesario seguir motivándolos a mejorar sus investigaciones tanto en aspectos cuantitativos como cualitativos.
To describe and analyze the social and psicological factor influencing the elaboration of grade thesis by students enrolled in the postgraduate course in Obstetrics and Gynecology (2001-2006). Evaluative study of the elaboration, submission and defense of the degree thesis. A questionnaire was applied to coordinators, teachers and students of the specialty. It was performed a quantitative and qualitative documental observation of positive indexes and characteristics of the knowledge obtained in the research papers presented, revision of documents, norms and post grade regulations. Facultad de Medicina, Universidad Central de Venezuela. The group of postgraduate students had the highest achievement in their grade thesis, compared with the other postgraduate courses. They distinguished for their attitude to full fill the University norms, to include the methodology in their seminars in direct and indirect way, motivation for submission on time of the preproject and project, scientific divulgation on publications and congress of the specialty, and their incorporation to the scientific society. The submission of the grade thesis was accomplished in 85.14 percent. In the period 2000-2006 there were 314 postgraduate specialist. There are social and psychological factors that influence the high performance and it is necessary to continue their motivation in order to improve their research both in the quantitative and qualitative aspects.
