ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze the effects of rational intervention on prophylactic antibiotics use in typeⅠIncision. Methods:A retrospective investigation method was used. Totally 170 cases with typeⅠIncision undergone in the hospital from April to Decem-ber 2013 were selected as the non-intervention group, and 173 cases with typeⅠIncision undergone in the hospital from April to De-cember 2014 were selected as the intervention group. The prophylactic antibiotics use, medication time, drug selection and duration of drug treatment were analyzed. Results:After intervention, the use rate of antibiotics was decreased from 67. 65% to 26. 59%, the ir-rational rate of use time was decreased from 15. 88% to 4. 63%, the irrational rate of treatment course was decreased from 30. 58% to 8. 09%, and the combination rate was declined from 10. 59% to 5. 20%. Conclusion:The rational prophylactic use of antimicrobial in type Ⅰ incision is improved through the intervention, and further efforts are still needed to improve the reasonable use.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for the rational clinical prophylactic use of antibiotics. METHODS:The cases in whom the clinical prophylactic use of antibiotics between 2006 and 2007 in our hospital showed failure in efficacy were monitored to analyze the cause of failure, meanwhile the clinical samples were sent for culture, isolation, identification and drug susceptibility tests as well as drug resistance analysis. RESULTS:Cephalosporins,Quinolones,Penicillins,Cefhalosporins + enzyme inhibitor were more commonly used antibiotics in our hospital, with drug resistance rates at 57.21%,65.14%,68.63%,and 18.81% respectively. Among the total 240 cases monitored, the prophylactic use of antibiotics totaled 877 times,of which,388 (44.24%) were non-indicated drug use,459 (52.34%) showed drug resistance,286 (32.61%) involved improper drug choice, and 42 (17.50%) showed dual infection. CONCLUSION:The clinical prophylactic use of antibiotics in our hospital is far from perfect; therefore,it is urgent to tighten control on the standard prophylactic use of antibiotics.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To understand the prophylactic antibiotics use in general surgeries performed in the hospital where the authors work.METHODS:500copies of discharge record of common surgical cases written between Jul.2005and Feb.2006were checked randomly, and the questionnaires about the general data and medication of the patients were filled out. Then the collected data were analyzed statistically.RESULTS:The prophylactic drug use rate in TypeⅠincision operations reached up to98.8%,of which58.5%cases lacked clear indications of medication. The high rate of prophylactic drug use, improper time of drug use,and the prolonged continuous drug use were among the problems that existed in TypeⅠand TypeⅡincision operation.CONCLUSION:There remain many problems in the use of prophylactic antibiotics in the general surgeries performed in our hospital, which requires the strengthening of standardized administration of prophylactic antibiotic use.
