ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the structure of medical students' professional psychological quality and to compile a questionnaire. Methods:Based on the grounded theory research and semi-structured interviews, the concept and structure of medical students' professional psychological quality were constructed, and the questionnaire of professional psychological quality of medical students with qualified reliability and validity was compiled. The medical students from multiple universities in Sichuan were tested by convenient sampling. A total of 300 valid questionnaires were collected for item analysis, 400 for correlation analysis and exploratory factor analysis, and 400 for confirmatory factor analysis and reliability analysis. SPSS 25.0 was used to perform correlation analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and reliability analysis, and AMOS 26.0 was used to make confirmatory factor analysis. Results:The questionnaire of medical students' professional psychological quality consisted of three subscales: professional psychological personality, professional psychological ability and professional identity, consisting of 13 secondary factors and 61 items. The total Cronbach's α=0.947, the internal consistency coefficients of the total questionnaire and the three subscales were from 0.845 to 0.947, and the correlation coefficients between the three subscales and the total questionnaire were from 0.850 to 0.869. The three factor model fitted well (GFI=0.945, AGFI=0.906, NFI=0.936, RFI=0.906, IFI=0.957, TLI=0.935, RMSEA=0.070). Conclusion:Professional psychological personality, professional psychological ability, and professional identity are the core structures of medical students' professional psychological quality. Medical students' professional psychological quality questionnaire has good content validity, structural validity and internal consistency reliability, which can be used as an effective tool to evaluate the professional psychological quality of medical students.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo study the psychological quality of the soldiers stationed at a reef and their influencing factors, and to analyze the relationship between psychological quality, subjective evaluation of health and social support. MethodsA questionnaire survey was conducted on 100 soldiers stationed at a reef using the military psychology quality scale, self-test health rating scale and comprehension social support scale. The military psychology quality scale includes five dimensions: Intelligence, loyalty, courage, self-confidence and frustration. The self-test health rating scale includes three dimensions: Physical health, mental health, and social health. The comprehension social support scale includes three dimensions: Family support, friend support, and other support. The scores of the military psychological quality scale of the soldiers stationed at the reef were compared with the norm of military mental quality using independent-sample t test. Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between scores of each dimension and total scores for the three scales. Multivariate linear regression was used to analyze the influence between social support, healthy subjective evaluation and the psychological quality of soldiers stationed at the reef. ResultsThe scores of dimension confidence (calm+independent+sociable) of the soldiers were significantly better than the overall norm score (P=0.030), and the difference for the other 4 dimensions was not statistically significant between the soldiers and the norm (all P>0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that the scores of all dimensions and total scores were positively correlated between the three scales used in this study (all P<0.01), except for loyalty dimension of military psychology quality scale and social health dimension of self-test health rating scale (P=0.366). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that mental health was the inf luencing factor of the tolerance (P=0.006); family support and physical health were the influencing factors of mental health (P=0.022, P<0.001), and family support was the influencing factor of physical health (P=0.025). Conclusion The psychological quality of soldiers stationed at a reef is vulnerable to the environment of the reef. It is necessary to improve the psychological quality by strengthening social support and improving their own health awareness of the soldiers.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the mediating role of regulatory emotional self-efficacy between psychological quality and depression in graduate students of military medical college. Methods A cluster sampling survey was conducted among 485 military medical college graduate students using psychological quality questionnaire for medical master (PQQMM),regulatory emotional self-efficacy scale (RESES) and self-rating depression scale (SDS). The statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 19.0 software. Results Total score of psychological quality and scores of 3 dimensions, including cognition, adaptability and personality, were significantly positively correlated with the score of expressing positive emotional self-efficacy (r=0.74, 0.57, 0.41, and 0.67; all P<0.01) and managing negative emotional self-efficacy (r=0.78, 0.65, 0.37, and 0.64; all P<0.01). The scores of psychological quality and regulatory emotional self-efficacy were significantly negatively correlated with depression (psychological quality and 3 dimensions: r=-0.78, -0.54, -0.50, and -0.62, all P<0.01; expressing positive emotional self-efficacy: r=-0.60, P<0.01; and managing negative emotional self-efficacy: r=-0.65, P<0.01). The military medical college graduate students having high regulatory emotional self-efficacy level had significantly higher score of psychological quality and significantly lower score of depression compared with the students having low regulatory emotional self-efficacy level (t=14.71, -9.43; both P<0.01). Expressing positive emotional selfefficacy had partial mediating effect between 3 dimensions of psychological quality and depression, and the proportions of total effect were 22.38%, 6.25% and 24.75%. Managing negative emotional self-efficacy had partial mediating effect between 3 dimensions of psychological quality and depression, and the proportions of total effect were 24.80%, 13.50% and 24.54%. Conclusion Regulatory emotional self-efficacy has partial mediating effect between psychological quality and depression in military medical college graduate students.
