ABSTRACT

ChatGPT, as a high-profile generative large language model (LLM) of artificial intelligence(AI), brings people immersive learning experience and a unique interactive platform; meanwhile, it provides an innovative tool and new opportunities for the development in many fields. With the increasing importance of radiation medicine in disease diagnosis and treatment, manned spaceflight, and nuclear energy and nuclear technology, it can be foreseen that AI LLMs like ChatGPT will play an important role in the development of radiation medicine. This article reviews the application prospects and challenges of ChatGPT in radiation medicine, aiming to promote the application research of AI LLMs in radiation medicine.

ABSTRACT

Metaverse is a reality-connected parallel universe created by human beings by the aid of various techniques including virtue reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, 5G, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and so on. It provides immersive user experience and brings disruptive changes to social networking, games, medicine, education, etc. The application of metaverse in radiation medicine has not been reported yet, but with the increasingly prominent role of radiation medicine in the fields of disease diagnosis and treatment, nuclear energy safety, and manned space exploration, it can be predicted that metaverse will promote the development of radiation medicine. This paper reviews the possible influence of metaverse on the development of radiation medicine field, and suggests China start the creation and application of radiomediverse, a metaverse for radiation medicine, as soon as possible.

ABSTRACT

Radiation medicine, one of the clinical medicine majors, is mainly engaged with the cultivation of special talents for radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, diagnosis and management of radiation occupational diseases, radiation protection, and medical emergency for nuclear accident. By 2022, there have been a total of 9 universities in China where undergraduate talents in radiation medicine are cultivated. Based on the demand for radiation medicine talents and the developmental trend in disciplines in China, this paper analyzes the deficiencies in the discipline status, discipline construction and teaching staff of radiation medicine. It also suggests the construction of a nation-wide organization for the radiation medicine talent training to improve the major status, the establishment of the new medicine development concept in consistency with the developmental trend of interdisciplinary integration, the building of high-quality educational resources of radiation medicine based on internet technology, and the improvement of grassroots teaching institutions, so as to adapt to the development of radiation medicine in the future.

ABSTRACT

In this paper, we reviewed the initiation and development of radiation medicine in China, field researches on the health effects of nuclear test and the great leap from the final reports, advance in clinical diagnosis and treatment of radiation injury, and research of radiation combined injuries. Nowadays, China makes great efforts to move up further in development and peaceful use of nuclear energy as one nuclear power. So, nuclear development and nuclear safety have ushered in new opportunities and challenges. To this end, we must maintain a clear understanding, grasp new opportunities, meet new challenges, and be prepared for danger. Thus, a bright future for research in radiation medicine will come.

ABSTRACT

Radiation Medicine is a required subject for the students in the military medical univer-sity at present. However, some of those students are short of a deep understanding of the importance of this curriculum, which results in the changes of their learning attitudes, the lack of the proper attention on this subject, as well as the poor teaching results because of the out-dated teaching contents, the lack of the clini-cal cases, and the compression of this course, etc. Notably, the impact of the nuclear threat on the world is deepening, and the use of nuclear energy in all fields is increasing. Therefore, it is quite necessary to carry out the medical rescue after suffering from the sudden nuclear accident or nuclear threat, especially to cope with the radiation injuries well in the future battlefield by learning this course well. Based on the new trend of the nuclear threats, the nuclear accidents and the nuclear terrorism at present, we discussed how to im-prove the enthusiasm of the students in learning this course, and to enhance their learning effect.

ABSTRACT

Massive open online course (MOOC) is an emerging online course model for the public. It is large-scale, open, interactive, etc. Therefore, MOOC has been developing rapidly at home and abroad in recent years. The advanced education philosophy of MOOC has also brought many inspirations to the teaching reform mode of Radiation Medicine. Under the background of the current military reform, the building of the online teaching platform on the basis of MOOC may realize the substantive reform of Radi-ation Medicine teaching, which can improve the comprehensive quality of the teachers and students, and cultivate more excellent military medical talents.
