ABSTRACT

The popularization of reading ancient books on traditional Chinese medicine has been in abasinstate due to their contents , their readers and the reading competence of their readers .The role of media guidance in popu-larization of reading ancient books on traditional Chinese medicine was thus elaborated with the exhibition of ancient books on traditional Chinese medicine in Library of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine as an exam-ple, which may provide certain reference for changing the ideas of libraries and popularizing the reading of charac-teristic documents .

After the difficult position of hospital library and the experiences of Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center Library in meeting clinical and medical needs were described, such as relying on the advantages of Fudan library col-league, improving professional literacy, providing subject service, and expanding service contents, the author pointed out that providing excellent service through multiple channels and ways is the key for hospital library to improve its value and position and its sustainable development .

Introducing the current challenges of library of Institute of Information Research, China Rehabilitation Research Center,the paper puts forward the establishment of effective literature resources construction and reader service mechanism. Construction of library collection should be developed from two aspects, namely, the acquisition and integration parts, so as to develop characteristic,compound collections with both printed literatures and digital literatures. Reader service is not only including the traditional service but also covering deep-rooted professional information analysis and multiple types of services.
