ABSTRACT

The present study aims to identify the ?nancial strengths and weaknesses of the salem steel plant by properly establishing relationships between the items of the balance sheet and pro?t and loss account. The study covers Salem Steel Plant, a special steels unit of Steel Authority of India Ltd, pioneered the supply of wider width stainless steel sheets / coils in India. The study has been undertaken for the period of twelve years from 2011-12 to 2020-21and the necessary data have been obtained from SAIL database. The liquidity position was strong in case of both the selected companies thereby re?ecting the ability of the companies to pay short-term obligations on due dates and they relied more on external funds in terms of long-term borrowings thereby providing a lower degree of protection to the creditors. The study will help investors to identify the nature of SAIL industry and will also help to take decision regarding investment.

ABSTRACT

@#Globular hanging nasal alae, described as convex round shaped alar lobule which may be an aesthetic nuisance in the final result of rhinoplasty, are commonly seen among Southeast Asian noses. Such alar lobule morphology is an important part of nasal aesthetics and should not be disregarded. Surgical techniques used to address a hanging ala include direct external approaches. External rim excision was proposed to address hidden columella, sigmoid alae, small nostrils, dropped rim and foreshortened nose.1,2 Rim tissue was excised in full thickness fashion and sutured in one layer. Others proposed alar groove excision followed by alar repositioning and full-thickness skin grafting to reposition the alar base and correct hanging alae.3 Although these approaches have been proven to correct hanging alae, they leave a visible scar and/or permanent alar rim deformity if not done cautiously, especially on thick skinned patients.1-3 The alar rim may not be natural looking since it is lined by a scar, thus losing the lobular texture of the rim. A vestibular incision has been proposed to correct a hanging ala with unsightly scar.4 A maximum of 3mm elliptical vestibular skin was recommended to be removed to lift the alar rim with significant results. However, this recommendation was based on estimates and surgeon’s experience in western noses and may be insufficient for Asian noses. In addition, performing this technique without specific landmarks is difficult in achieving accurate results, especially when performed by a novice surgeon. Hence, further modification is important to address these concerns. Attempting to address the hanging alae in Asian noses, the senior author (ECY) modified the vestibular incision and came up with the sail excision technique based on the patient’s nasal anatomy.5 By presenting definite landmarks, the technique resulted in an alar lift procedure with reproducible outcomes. Furthermore, after performing sail excision in several patients, the authors noted the effect of this technique on alar morphology. This procedure is done by excising a precisely marked piece of inner nasal vestibular skin that is shaped like the sail of a boat to achieve a symmetrical and redictable result. This creates a lifting effect and improves the alar columellar disproportion specially when combined with septal advancement techniques.6,7 Furthermore, limiting the excision along the inner vestibular area and rolling the alar rim skin inwards results in correction of hanging ala (with a hidden scar) without an obvious, external scar. After performing the technique on several patients, we observed that in addition to its effect on lifting a hanging ala, the sail excision technique also changes the alar morphology from a globular-shaped lobule to a more aesthetically pleasing ridge-shaped lobule. To the best of our knowledge, such an effect of sail excision on alar morphology has not been described in the literature. This article aims to demonstrate the effect of the sail excision technique on alar rim morphology of Asian noses by describing the step-by-step procedure, surgical landmarks, and pearls in performing this technique.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

The sail demands from the athlete vast knowledge of hydrodynamic, meteorology, rules and tactics, beyond physical and psychological demands as concentration and attention. The aim of this study was, through a literature review, to investigate the attention and your implication in the practice of sail. Attention is a variable of great importance in the context of competitive sail, considered the necessary ability to a best performance. For the athlete to reach and maintain good levels of attention it is necessary that he establishes performance goals, mental routines and use "trigger words". The attention is intimately linked with the characteristics of sail, and could be considered a basic cognitive capacity for sailors.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research was to evaluate de mood states after regattas of sail during Pre-Panamerican, as well associated factors. Sample was composed by 18 athletes of both sexes that were evaluated by the Brunel Mood Scale. The athletes presented high tension and fatigue, associated with high levels of vigor. The men present higher vigor and fatigue, and low tension, depression and angry than the women, but the differences were no significant. About the class, the athletes of individual classes showed high tension, depression and confusion than the ones of the classes with two athletes, but there were no significant differences. The mood states presented by the athletes after the regattas of sail of the Pre-Panamerican can be considered different from the ideal to sporting performance, but already there is a little bit theory about the mood states of sail athletes to do a deep analysis.

ABSTRACT

AIM: To investigate the expression, distribution and significance of nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) in experimental hepatic fibrosis.METHODS: Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal control group, hepatic fibrisis model group and the pyrrolidine-1-dithiocarboxylic acid ammonium sail (PDTC) group. The PDTC group was treated with subcutaneous injection of carboan tetrachloride, and treated with PDTC by oral administration. The content of hydroxyproline was measured. Endotoxin was determined with a Limulus amebocyte lysate test kit. The alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in plasma was measured by laishi method. The content of malondialdehyde (MDA) in liver tissue was detected by means of TBA method. The expression of NF-κB was determined by immunohistochemistry. The expression of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) was measured by Western blotting.RESULTS: In control group, just a small amount of NF-κB p65 was expressed in the cytoplasm of a few hepatocytes around central veins. In model group, the positive staining of NF-κB p65 was expressed in cytoplasm and nucleus, mainly in fibrous stepta, hepatic sinusoid and partial vascular endothelial cells, part of proliferating ductular epithelial cells and impaired hepatocytes. The positive staining began to increase from the first week. The expression of NF-κB in the liver tissues in PDTC group was lower than that in model control group (P<0.05). The ET levels and expression of NF-κB and CTGF began to increase significantly in liver fibrosis group. The levels of plasma ET and expression of NF-κB and CTGF were correlated positively with each other. In PDTC group, ET content in plasma increased significantly at first, then began to decline at the end of the test. The expression of NF-κB and CTGF in liver tissues in PDTC groups was lower than that in model group. Furthermore, the expression of NF-κB in liver tissues in PDTC group was correlated positively with CTGF. The levels of plasma ET were not correlated with the expression of NF-κB and CTGF.CONCLUSION: ET may up-regulate the expression of CTGF by activating NF-κB.
