RESUMEN El trabajo tiene como objetivo valorar los avances de la entidad en su trayectoria de veinte años en el marco de las ciencias sociales en salud. Los métodos utilizados fueron la revisión documental de diversas fuentes como los documentos de la entidad, libros, tesis de maestría y doctorales, y publicaciones periódicas. Entre ellas, figuran: Educación Médica Superior, Universidad de La Habana y Granma. Además de la entrevista en profundidad a directivo y fundador de la entidad. Destaca una estrategia laboral sostenida por las políticas científicas definidas en el país, que han sido atemperadas a la realidad local en un marco específico. A ello se une un colectivo apegado a su tarea científica-metodológica y una dirección estable.
ABSTRACT The work aims to value the progress of the entity in its twenty-year trajectory in the framework of the social sciences in health. The methods used were the documentary review of various sources such as the entity's documents, books, master's and doctoral thesis, and journals and newspapers. These include: Higher Medical Education, University of Havana and Granma, and the interview with manager and founder of the entity. It highlights a strategy supported by the scientific policies defined in the country, which have been tempered to local reality in a specific framework. This is done by a collective attached to its scientific-methodological task and a stable direction.

Objective To discuss the battery management of ECG monitor to enhance its benefits.Methods The application of ECG monitor battery in all the departments was analyzed,and a management scheme was proposed that executed proper supplying in the nurse station and centralized allocation in leasing center.Results The proposed scheme decreased the failure risks of the battery and saved the cost of the departments.Conclusion Battery management concept can be applied to other types of medical equipment so as to further optimize medical equipment management mechanism in the medical facility.

Objective:To discuss the strategy and the scientific management of large medical equipment maintenance.Methods: The support technical service 2 maintenance strategy of the manufacturer were chosen by establishing the importance of two scientific management method, management measures and equipment maintenance.Results: The failure rate was reduced. The performance appraisal (PA) system establishment in scientific research institutes on traditional Chi-nese medicine (TCM) plays an important role in the management of TCM research work, which can set up both well-defined guidance and favorable appraisal regimen for scientific researchers, so that leads to the accomplishment of the scientific objectives. However, current PA system establishment has fallen seriously behind the real demand in most TCM research institutes. As a result, there is a serious lack of a mature, efficient, standardized, propagable PA system in TCM research field. In this paper, we tried to discuss the current situation and key issues in building modern PA system in TCM research institutes. The PA system development in scientific research institutes on TCM was pointed out. The PA system should be based on existed referenced similar platforms, with full consideration on professional features and Chinese culture. The PA system establishment should be with most science, systematicness, objectivity, and guidance. The PA system should also be established to evaluate the scientific researchers equitably, guide the scientific trend, provide proper institute, and promote scientific research.

OBJECTIVE:To intensify the scientific inner management of drugs in hospitals,lower the operation cost on drug management and guarantee patients' medication safety.METHODS:The problems occurred in hospital drug management were analyzed,and the method of management by objective and PDCA cyclical method in scientific management were employed to make a target plan in conformity with the three-level drug management model of our hospital and then the management proposal was carried out.RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:The application of scientific management enhanced hospital drug management level as well as working efficiency,and the quantity of the overdue drugs was lowered by 90.5% in 2008 than in the same period of 2007.

OBJECTIVE:To explore a fair,reasonable and legal management for outpatient chemical drug pharmacy.METHODS:By combining our experiences in outpatient chemical drug pharmacy of our hospital reviewing a considerable literature,the problems occurred in daily pharmacy management were analyzed,and the coping strategies such as flexible shift arrangement system,comprehensive drug control and sustained improvement etc were applied.RESULTS:The scientific management contributed to a reasonable pharmacy management,reduced error rate,ensured the drug quality,greatly shortened the dispensing time,and due to which,high-quality service was available and the allocation of human resources was optimized to some degree.Patients' satisfaction degree raised to 97.8% of Mar.2008 from 80% of Apr.2006.CONCLUSI-ON:A fair,reasonable and legal pharmacy management was achieved by means of scientific,human and standard management,accordingly,the hardware and software in pharmacy brought about a maximal efficiency and effectiveness of management.

Objective To discuss how to improve the management and using efficiency of first-aid equipment.Methods The scientific management of hospital first-aid equipment was discussed in such aspects as administrator,duty,equipment,metrology and personnel.Results The management level and using efficiency of hospital first-aid equipment were greatly improved.Conclusion The method improves the first-aid and synthesis capability.

OBJECTIVE: To survey and objectively evaluate the present situation and trend of the usages of the prescription drugs and over the counter( OTC) drugs. METHODS: To make a survey of the usage for above - mentioned drugs in 51 hospitals of 4 provinces in southwest China during the period 1999- 2000 concerning the sum of money for drugs, main kinds of drugs etc. . RESULTS: The sum of money for the prescription drugs and OTC drugs increased 55% and 33% in 2000 compared with those in 1999, respectively.The sums of money for OTC drugs accounted for 2.18% and 2.56% of those of the prescription drugs in 2000 and in 1999,respectively.CONCLUSION:The sums of money for the prescription drugs and OTC drugs increased rapidly ,but total sale of OTC drugs was very low compared with that of the prescription drugs.

OBJECTIVE:To survey and objectively evaluate the present situation and trend of the usages of interferon.METHODS:To make a survey of the interferon used in 136 hospitals of 6 cities in the Yangtse valley of China during the period 1998～2000 in respect to the sum of money for drugs,production enterprises etc.and to analyse the situation of clinical use.RESULTS:The sums of money for the interferon were 25 925 795 yuans and 28 512 161 yuans and 28 038 402 yuans in 1998,in 1999 and in 2000,respectively.The proportion of domestic interferon in total consumption of interferon increased year by year.CONCLUSION:With the interferon declining in price and interferon-? having been fixed as a drug in state Basic Drugs for Medical Insurance,its consumption will increase at a high speed.
