ABSTRACT

Se realizó un estudio quasiexperimental de 100 pacientes con sacrolumbalgia aguda, quienes acudieron a la Consulta de Ortopedia y fueron remitidos al Servicio de Medicina Natural y Tradicional del Policlínico del MININT de Santiago de Cuba, desde enero del 2015 hasta igual mes del 2016, con vistas a evaluar la eficacia de la auriculoterapia. Se conformaron 2 grupos (A y B) de 50 integrantes cada uno: los primeros recibieron tratamiento con auriculoterapia y los segundos, farmacológico. La mayoría de los afectados del grupo A mejoraron en menor tiempo y tuvieron menos reacciones adversas que los del B, lo cual demostró la eficacia de este tratamiento en el alivio del dolor lumbar.


A quasi-experiment study of 100 patients with acute low back pain who went to the Orthopedics Service and were referred to the Natural and Traditional Medicine Service of the MININT Polyclinic in Santiago de Cuba, was carried out from January, 2015 to the same month in 2016, aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of auriculotherapy. Two groups were conformed (A and B) of 50 members each: the first ones received treatment with auriculotherapy and the second, pharmacological treatment. Most of those affected in the group A improved in less time and had less adverse effects than those of the group B, which demonstrated the effectiveness of this treatment in the relief of the lumbar pain.

ABSTRACT

Se realizó una intervención terapéutica en 108 adultos con giardiasis, atendidos en el Servicio de Medicina Natural y Tradicional del Centro Médico Psicopedagógico "América Labadí Arce" de Santiago de Cuba, desde julio del 2013 hasta igual periodo del 2014, con vistas a determinar la efectividad del Oleozon® por vía oral en los afectados. Se conformaron 2 grupos de 54 integrantes cada uno; el de estudio, recibió Oleozon®, y el de control, fue tratado con medicamentos convencionales. Se empleó la prueba de Ji al cuadrado, con una significación estadística de p < 0,05. Predominaron el sexo masculino (59,2 % en el grupo de estudio y 55,5 % en el de control), el grupo etario de 30-39 años (38,9 % en el primero y 51,8 % en el segundo). La rápida evolución de los pacientes tratados con Oleozon® demostró su efectividad; por tanto, se recomendó su utilización como enfoque terapéutico de elección.


A therapeutical intervention in 108 adults with giardiasis, assisted in the Natural and Traditional Medicine Service of "America Labadí Arce" Psychopedagogical Medical Center in Santiago de Cuba was carried out from July, 2013 to the same period of 2014, aimed at determining the effectiveness of the oral Oleozon® in those patients affected. Two groups of 54 members each were formed; the study group received Oleozon®, and the control group was treated with conventional drugs. The Chi square test was used, with a statistical significance of p 0,05. The male sex (59.2% in the study group and 55.5% in the control group), the age group 30-39 years (38.9% in the first one and 51.8% in the second one). The fast clinical course of the patients treated with Oleozon® demonstrated its effectiveness; therefore, its use was recommended as an alternative therapeutic approach.

ABSTRACT

Se efectuó un estudio longitudinal y controlado de 100 pacientes con osteoartrosis generalizada, atendidos en el Servicio de Medicina Natural y Tradicional del Hospital Provincial Docente Clinicoquirúrgico "Saturnino Lora Torres" de Santiago de Cuba, desde enero hasta diciembre del 2010, a fin de evaluar la eficacia de los imanes permanentes multipolares en el tratamiento del dolor crónico en los afectados. Estos imanes se ubicaron y fijaron en diferentes puntos de acupunturas para aliviar la dolencia. Los niveles de dolor se cuantificaron mediante la Escala Visual Análoga, por sexo y rango de edades; se evaluaron a los 0, 30, 60 y 90 días durante la terapia. Se demostró la factibilidad del uso de los imanes permanentes multipolares en el alivio del dolor de los pacientes con osteoartrosis generalizada por ser simples, seguros, eficaces y no inducir efectos adversos en el organismo.


A longitudinal and controlled study of 100 patients with generalized osteoarthrosis, assisted in the Service of Natural and Traditional Medicine of "Saturnino Lora Torres" Clinical Surgical Teaching Provincial Hospital in Santiago de Cuba was carried out from January to December, 2010, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the multipolar permanent magnets in the treatment of the chronic pain in those affected. These magnets were placed and fixed in different acupuncture points to reduce pain. The pain levels were quantified by means of the Analogue Visual Scale, by sex and age range; they were evaluated at the 0, 30, 60 and 90 days during the therapy. The feasibility of the use of the multipolar permanent magnets was demonstrated in the relief of pain of the patients with generalized osteoarthrosis as they are simple, sure, effective and induce no adverse effects in the organism.

Se realizó un ensayo clinicoterapéutico de fase II en 100 pacientes con sacrolumbalgia aguda, que acudieron al Servicio de Medicina Natural y Tradicional del Centro Médico Psicopedagógico América Labadí Arce de Santiago de Cuba, desde julio del 2009 hasta igual mes del 2010, a fin de evaluar la eficacia del tratamiento acupuntural en ellos, para lo cual fueron conformados 2 grupos de estudio (A y B) de 50 integrantes cada uno: los primeros recibieron los efectos de la medicina natural y los segundos de la convencional. Se obtuvo que los tratados con acupuntura mejoraron en menor tiempo y con menos reacciones adversas en comparación con los consumidores de fármacos, de donde se infiere que la técnica milenaria china resultó eficaz para aliviar el dolor lumbar en quienes se aplicó.


A phase II clinical therapeutical trial on 100 patients with acute lower back pain who attended the Natural and Traditional Medicine Service at América Labadí Psychopedagogical Medical Center from Santiago de Cuba was carried out from July, 2009 to July, 2010 in order to assess the efficacy of the acupunctural treatment on them. To achieve this goal, two study groups (A and B) composed of 50 members each were created: the first ones received the natural medicine effects and the second ones received the conventional medicine effects. The results were as follows: those treated with acupuncture improved their physical condition in a short period of time and had less side effects compared to the patients who used drugs, in which case it can be inferred that Chinese millenary technique was effective to relieve lumbar pain on whom it was applied.
