ABSTRACT

RESUMEN: La odontología está en búsqueda de miradas más integradoras, una de ellas se relaciona con la sexualidad. La educación sexual en odontología, ha tenido escasa representación curricular, instalándose más desde lo curativo que de lo preventivo. Este estudio evaluó el grado de conocimiento, las conductas y motivos relativos a los métodos preventivos y al riesgo asociado a las prácticas de sexo oral, en estudiantes de odontología de una universidad chilena. Material y métodos: Este estudio cuantitativo, transversal y analítico, utilizó como instrumento de recogida de datos, una encuesta anónima y autoaplicada, en 50 estudiantes voluntarios. Este instrumento indagó acerca de las condiciones relativas a salud sexual, específicamente en prácticas de sexo oral. Los análisis estadísticos fueron realizados utilizando los programas SPSS® v20 y Excel®. Resultados: En cuanto a los conocimientos de métodos preventivos para prácticas de sexo oral, además del condón, otras barreras fueron poco conocidas (13%). El 90% reportó haber practicado sexo oral alguna vez, de estos, 78% no utilizó barreras de protección. De los que reportaron haber usado barrera, el 100% utilizó condón. Conclusiones: Los conocimientos, conductas y motivos en salud sexual denotan un conocimiento deficiente relativo a métodos preventivos para prácticas de sexo oral y su riesgo asociado.


ABSTRACT: Dentistry is in search of more inclusive points of view, one of them related to sexuality. Sexual education has had little curricular representation in Dentistry, being approached more from a curative point of view rather than a preventive one. This study evaluated the degree of knowledge, conduct and motives related to preventive methods and the risk associated with oral sex practices among dental students of a Chilean university. Materials and methods: This quantitative, transversal and analytical study used an anonymous and self-applied survey on 50 voluntary students. The instrument inquired about conditions related to sexual health, specifically oral sex practices. Statistical data was analyzed using softwares such as SPSS v20 and Excel. Results: In terms of knowledge about preventive methods for oral sex practices, aside from condoms, other barriers where little known (13%); 90% reported having practiced oral sex once, and among these, 78% didn't use protection barriers. Of those who reported having used a barrier, 100% used condoms. Conclusions: Knowledge, conducts and motives in sexual health report a deficient knowledge of preventive methods for oral sex practices and their associated risk.

ABSTRACT

Resumen Este estudio tiene como objetivo caracterizar las principales variables psicosociales presentes en un grupo de mujeres adolescentes víctimas de explotación sexual comercial, que ingresaron a un centro de atención especializado en el abordaje de la temática en la región de Los Lagos, Chile. Mediante una metodología cuantitativa, se realizó un análisis retrospectivo de 121 fichas de adolescentes entre 12 y 18 años, atendidos entre los años 2009 y 2015. Como principales resultados es posible identificar variables psicosociales fuertemente presentes en la todalidad de los casos, tales como antecedentes de negligencia parental, deserción escolar, larga trayectoria de institucionalización, historial de abuso sexual, experiencia de vida en calle y consumo de alcohol y/o drogas. Asimismo, se identifican distintas configuraciones de las variables psicosociales en relación con cada modalidad local de explotación sexual comercial presente en el territorio. Se discuten las implicancias de realizar estrategias de intervención diferenciadas por modalidad de explotación sexual comercial de niños/as y adolescentes considerando el conocimiento de los equipos de trabajo de la multiplicidad de factores asociados al fenómeno en cada territorio.


Abstract The objective of this study is to characterize the main psychosocial variables present in a group of teenage girls victims of commercial sexual exploitation, who entered an a care center specialized in approaching the subject in the region of Los Lagos, Chile. Through a quantitative methodology system a retrospective analysis was made of 121 records of adolescents between 12 and 18 years old, taking place between years 2009 and 2015. The main results make it feasible to identify psychosocial variables that are strongly present in all cases, such as he history of parental negligence, school dropout, a long institutionalization trajectory, a history of sexual abuse, street life experiences and the consumption of alcohol and/or drugs. Likewise, different configurations of the psychosocial variables are identified in relation to each local modality of commercial sexual exploitation seen in the territory. The implications of carrying out intervention strategies having been differentiated by commercial sexual exploitation of children and teenagers are discussed, taking into consideration the work teams' knowledge of the multiplicity of factors associated with this phenomenon in each territory.


Resumo Este estudo tem como objetivo caracterizar as principais variáveis psicossociais atuais em um grupo de mulheres adolescentes vítimas da exploração sexual comercial, que entraram a um centro da atenção especializado na abordagem da temática na região de Los Lagos, o Chile. Por meio de uma metodologia quantitativa, uma análise retrospectiva de 121 fichas dos adolescentes entre 12 e 18 anos, atendidos entre os anos 2009 e 2015, foi realizada. Como principais resultados é possível identificar variáveis psicossociais fortemente presentes na totalidade dos casos, tais como os antecedentes da negligência parental, o abandono escolar, longa trajetória da institucionalização, histórico do abuso sexual, experiência da vida na rua e o consumo das drogas e/ou álcool. Também, as diferentes configurações das variáveis psicossociais com relação a cada modalidade local da exploração sexual comercial presente no território são identificadas. As implicâncias de fazer as estratégias da intervenção diferenciadas pela modalidade da exploração sexual comercial de crianças e adolescentes considerando o conhecimento das equipes do trabalho da multiplicidade dos fatores associados ao fenômeno em cada território são discutidas.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: This study was designed to explore and compare the prostatic hypertrophoc symptoms, activities of daily living, satisfaction of sexual activities and well-being among subjects with prostatic hypertrophic symptoms and the general population. METHOD: One hundred subjects with prostatic hypertrophic symptoms and one hundred general persons were recruited in K medical center. The data were collected from October 20, 2001 to March 30, 2002 by structured questionnaire. RESULT: The results were the following; 1. The percentage of mild(0~7), moderate(8~19) and severe(20~35)symptoms between subjects with prostatic hypertrophic symptoms and general persons were 6% : 60%, 54% : 39%, 40% : 1%. 2. There was a significant difference in prostatic hypertrophic symptoms(t=12.82, p<.001), in activities of daily living(t=-7.77, p<.0001), in satisfaction of sexual activities (t=-4.80, p<.0001), in well-being(t=-4.80, p<.0001) between subjects with prostatic hypertrophic symptoms and general persons 3. There was a significant difference in activities of daily living(F=16.28, p<.0001), satisfaction of sexual activities(F=3.98, p<.05) according to prostatic hypertrophic symptoms in subjects with prostatic hypertrophic symptoms. CONCLUSION: According to the above findings, prostatic hypertrophic symptoms influence activities of daily living, satisfaction of sexual activities, well-being of subjects with prostatic hypertrophic symptoms negatively.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of sexual rehabilitation education on the knowledge of sexual activities and satisfaction of sexual activities of spinal cord injury clients by the method of Nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest group. The study period was between Jan. 6th and Apr. 11th, 1999. The experimental group was 21 spinal cord injury clients from one general hospital, and the control group was 21 spinal cord injury clients from three University hospital. Sexual rehabilitation education was done with manuals and video-tapes. Education time was 90 minutes a week for 4 weeks. The study tool was 20 questionnaires about sexual knowledge, designed Song, Chung Sook(1990) and 10 questionnaires from Derogatis's Derogatis Sexual Function Inventory for satisfaction of sexual activities(1979) translated by Jang, Soon Boke(1989). Analysis of data was done by x2 -test, t-test, repeated measures ANOVA and simple main effect with SAS/PC. The results are as follows. The 1st. hypothesis, "The group educated about the sexual rehabilitation has more sexual activities knowledge than those of the uneducated group." is significant statistically(F=12.06, p=0.001). The 2nd. hypotheses, "The group educated about the sexual rehabilitation has more satisfaction of sexual activities than those of the uneducated group." is significant statistically(F=5.04, p=0.030). According to the results, sexual rehabilitation education helps spinal cord injury clients to gain knowledge of sexual activities and satisfaction of sexual activities.
